Jordan isn't on the scene, there's nothing to get rid of?

On the scene as is stirring things up an wandering off rather than doing something about it.

I don't quite get what your argument is? If you're trying to make a point to me that sisu need to be gone and we need new management from top to bottom? Go back a and read my original post again!!

I'm making the point that it's more than just throwing money at it. Big improvements could happen at the club at very little to no cost and reflect through the whole club as a whole including on the pitch. That's why clubs like Newcastle have to spend many times more than clubs like Burnley and Bournemouth to achieve the same.

Do the little things right and it lifts everyone. Create an environment where success is allowed to thrive not an environment where you have to over invest to compensate for the environment. It's pretty basic stuff.

Best point that out to Nick. He's the one saying it takes hundreds of millions not me. I actually forgot about Blackpool but I think we're singing of the same hymn sheet here that there's more than one way to skin a cat so long as it's done correctly. Although I think Blackpool largely fell on promotion with a huge slice of luck and what the Oystons have done since only really confirms that.

Totally agree Tony. I sadly think the Oyston's made a huge pot of cash from that slice of luck as well.

We seem to have a mindset that we can't ever achieve anything.
Some on here jump down the throat of anybody talking positive, always offering excuses why we can't do it rather than offering ways of doing it.

As pointed out above, until we get rid of Sisu we can never start to feel positive as they are holding everything up.

As much as I hate them, even SISU could fix it.......but they wont.

So what happens with FFP?

It's all well and good saying investment, but who is going to invest the hundreds of millions needed and not want it back if it doesn't work?

It is only going to be a rich billionaire from the Far East who is going to want to do that.
I don't remember the likes of Norwich, WBA, Stoke, Bournmouth, Fulham, Brighton, Huddersfield,
Burnley, Watford, Swansea, Cardiff, Hull, Palace etc, spending hundreds of millions.
Spending hundreds of millions would probably buy you a chance of winning the premier league,
Never mind reaching it. IMO

The point is most of our over 60's have more spare cash, I have suffered 34 years nobody said there was a reduction after 40 years. Come back with an answer to produce more money at the gates without adding to the numbers then.
I have, increase what season ticket holders pay per match, as said it's about £12 as opposed to 20 odd quid for pay on the day

So a flat price for all ages or would you just plan to get the ones who are paying most even more?

The 1m profit line again, not knowing it's ebit.

Will our fans be happy with us getting 5m just from tickets, imagine the price we would need to pay?

I'm not sure why people use Swansea as an example, it's completely different.

Isn't it 100k as well as match day costs?

We still employ grounds men also.

He paid 150 or 180k but got all revenues, hardly the same.

What we need to know is how he would go about funding the new team to get to the premier league with the hundreds of millions required.
What we know at the moment is that our current owners do not share the same ambition! Lets shoot him down and be happy with what we have hey?

IIRC our largest ticket income in thr last 10-15 years was in our first season at thr Ricoh averaging over 21k with cup games was about £5.2m. In our last accounts ticket income/match reciepts with c10k plus cup games was £1.8m in fact our entire turnover was only £4.7m yet Simon Jordan thinks we should get £5m ticket income from 10k fans.

He has the figures wrong but how can you account for Walsall FC match receipts being £1.5m on an average attendance of 5.382 and Coventry FC match receipts being £1.8m on an average attendance of 12,570? It does not add up even if you account for the fact that season tickets are about 25% cheaper here.

The old must be happy with it line again. Standard.
The only thing that is std is that you shit your pants everytime somebody mentions that sisu are cunts! I think your also being a bit presumptious that mr jordan has no idea what is going on with us and its all through the devious gilbert mans mouth.

Any idea go many free tickets we give out? Must be a good few thousand.

Simon Jordan said at 10,000 a season we should be getting £5m a year just off tickets.

That's some fag packet maths right there. 10k gives you 230,000 paying fans a season, that's about £20 per ticket. No way we'd hit that.

No but whenever Wasps crowd figures are mentioned there will be sure to be a post or 2 about their free ticket policy.

It seems to be based on huge increases in average ticket price, more than doubling the cost, while increasing attendances. Screen Shot 2017-01-14 at 14.43.48 copy.png

a lot of good points made o
The only way the club can go anywhere is with a small amount of investment. We seem to have a manager that can achieve things given that backing but their in lies everyone's problem, we have owners that asset strip which is the exact opposite of what we need. I am not saying suddenly pump 5 or 6 million into the club but if you gave proper contracts to players to retain them that would be a start, it needs building progressively and prudently and it will rise again with out a massive cash influx.

This is what I've been saying all along and why sisu are failing the club. There is no strategy for taking us forward. The sole focus is on breaking even. That's OK if it's part of a bigger plan.
However people talking about big investment in the championship to get to the premiership need to remember how much shit we got into with our last bout of reckless pending which ultimately lead to sisu taking control of the club.
At the moment I'd be happy to get out of the first division and establish ourselves as a lower championship team, if someone wants to throw money at us in the championship then great but I wouldn't want the club loaded with debt to try and compete with the likes of Leeds,Forest and the half dozen teams with parachute money.

Without looking some of this could be

- us having cheaper ST's
- us selling a higher proportion of concessions tickets vs adults
- us having JSB and free child STs
- Walsall having larger number / price of corporate tickets
- us doing more discounted games (e.g kids for a quid, etc)
- us giving a higher % of free tickets through SBiTC and to schools,
- discounts on matchday packages,
- us having a larger number of disabled and free/cheap carers, etc
- early bird prices?

I've not verified any of the above bit jist some guesses on on possible reasons.

I have 4 ST's in the premium seats, 1 adult, 1 Senior citizen and 2 JSBs free ticket = £621/4 =£155.25 /23 games = £6.75 per person per game

So you are seriously saying Coventry & Warwickshire is substantially poorer than Walsall?

If the sales breakdown is so much poorer then why hasn't Fisher developed a plan to improve it, all he does is whinge about unfairness, he never does anything positive, he is not the right man to be in charge. What's more if you look Walsall have a board of directors or about 5 or 6 people so there is a lot more input.

Shit, is Walsall a bigger club than City now?

I would like to know the breakdown of our ticket revenue. But what can you do, even our fans rip the club off with kids tickets and the like.
Didn't this get done a while back. Seems to recall our average ticket price worked out to be around a tenner.

I do think the breakdown in trust between club and fans limits our options as well.

It was but I'd rather know where that comes from. How much corporate, how much freebies, etc so we can have a sensible discussion about how to increase it

Agree with that, same break even stuff could be pushed with a different approach and do better with better pr and communication, customer care etc.

I may be being hopelessly naive, but I do think people would understand price hikes or player sales more if there was some fan representation on the board. But then it'll probably all become conspiracy theories about those fans.

Anyway, looks like we'll be down in L2 with 5k crowds soon so we can fit in the Butts.
