So after answering your questions on my pension you ignored my questions about yours. Now you mention it again.

So do you think that a final salary pension could be invested in a hedge fund?

Clearly it could. Any pension fund can - final salary just is a pension fund and the company needs to bridge the gap. Hedge funds are growing not decreasing in pension fund investments.

Not all pensions are invested in hedge funds. A small % maybe but I am a trustee of a fairly large pension scheme and not one pound of our investments are with hedge funds.

Really boring subject but it's both a closed final salary scheme ( Defined benefit) and Money purchased scheme.

Interesting that we're turning bids left, right and centre which suggests no need to sell.

Just wish we'd fucking get someone in!

Christie, Turner, Murphy, Jutkeiwiz (sp?), Sordell, JOB, Fleck, Thomas, Phillips, Vincelot, Pugh, Webster, Jackson, Miller, Murphy, Moussa, Seabourne, J Clarke, Adams, Daniels, Swanson.

All went to clubs above us now. I could go on.
Don't go upsetting Grendel. The deluded one thinks that only a small % have gone to better clubs.

The comment was about players moving upwards at the point of sale

Perhaps you couldn't comprehend that

It is far too quiet.

It feels like no one will come in, but players will go. We are crying out for a striker.

I can't believe there is nothing but apathy from the club and we are about to get relegated. I know the window isn't closed yet, but it is looking a pretty pathetic attempt at bringing in the players we need to stay up.
Can't get Biork out of my head now.
Simple!

How many of them are still playing at a higher level consistently?

You aren't having Billy Daniels, he isn't even a pro footballer any more.

What an utterly depressing transfer window. 'Watch what we do in January' he said. Lose almost every game, sell our remaining assets last minute of the window (I'm still anticipating), employ a manager who is unable to galvanize the worst city squad in history to even register 3 points, bring in unproven loans and short term stop gaps who are injury prone and/or past it. Not a cat in hells chance we will come close to staying up. Pathetic.
Sums up SISU perfectly. :wacky:

Not a boring subject. Well not to me anyway.

I have my defined benefit and one I do myself. The one I do myself has well outperformed what our company has been able to do. But I am not held back by government rules and regulations. I always go for shares in consumables that pay a good dividend.

Fucking hell Nick let Grendull clutch at his own straws. Dion Dublin isn't a pro footballer anymore. Does that mean he didn't move up?

From the ever reliable CT :wtf:

City are also understood to have rejected an approach for Ruben Lameiras from Swindon Town, believed to be around the £200,000 mark.

The Independent have reported today: “It looked in early January as if Brentford would buy Ben Stevenson from Coventry City. They made two bids of £500,000 and £1million, told that Coventry’s asking price was £1.5m.

“But Coventry, knowing that Brentford were about to cash in on Scott Hogan, moved the price to £2.5m and Brentford have decided that is too much for them. “There has also been interest in left-back Ryan Haynes but he is out of contract in the summer and so none of the big Championship clubs interested in him are willing to meet Coventry’s asking price of £300,000.”
200,000 and 300,000?

Snap their bloody hands off!!

OK while we hang around waiting, lemme ask you all a question I overheard in the pub tonight. Took me about 10 mins to figure out the answer.

I am an ex-Premier League footballer who has won the Premier League and also the Champions League. I have played alongside Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand, Zinedene Zidane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Niklas Bendtner, Gareth Bale and Mikael Arteta during my career for both club and country. Who am I?

Are we talking about players we have sold and players who we wanted to stay but moved on once out of contract.
Or are we talking about players who we never offered a new contract to?
Players we sold or who refused to stay with us are in the vast majority still at clubs above us in the league pyramid.
Players we never offered a new contract to well there is a reason for that surely?

Does anyone have any doubt that after this transfer window, we will be left with a weaker team than before it?
Not sure.

IF we suddenly sold Stevenson and Haynes and Lameiras and Willis, then I would say yes.

Not particularly because of their quality or lack of, but because it will be last minute and then we will be left to pick up the dregs from unattached players in the days after..

I am sure I commented at the start of the window that we wouldn't sign many. These people who are running the club into the ground are just shits.

We have a weaker team and a manager who is totally hopeless.

I'm not saying all are. However one poster claimed very few are.

For the record there is around £600 billion of people's pensions invested in hedge funds globally and there has been an increase in content of around 15% since 2013

We are already as good as down so why bring in players to keep us up? That would take almost an entire new 11. Unfortunately, I think everyone is now preparing for life in L2.

So as Bryan Richardson has less moves up then his successors are you at last admitting he was a success?

Going to get an early night.
The news will be exactly the same at 6.30am tomorrow as it will at midnight.

Did anyone else hear that ex football agent rip our club to bits in terms of ability to attract players in the transfer window (aimed at our owners' leadership and vision), It was both depressing, but refreshing in its honesty - spoken as if a City fan were passing judgement on how the club is being run.

Slade interview tomorrow:
"We didn't sign anyone in the window but we can utilise the or of contract players at anytime and will continue to look at the loan window"
There is no loan window. All finishes tonight.

After 11 pm you can only sign unattached players.
