These are the same Cov players who we will be supporting in Div One next year or even in the dole queue if things don't change and SISU get out. Is 15 minutes without your support really going to affect them that much, whilst it might affect SISU much more.

why will effect sisu ? they know exactly what we think of them and if rumours are to be believed then this takeover is happening soon so why not support our team who are improving against a team who have shown in recent weeks are beatable from the first minute ! i will support any any player that puts on a cov shirt be it premier league or league 2 ... i dont like sisu and dont like our league position but our players need our support more than ever right now . just my opinion

I thought you were proposing a full boycott, yet you have now changed tack to a 15min boycott.

Yeah i bet SISU will think fuck this theres a 15 min boycott we're out. What a joke it wont make a difference. The team need our support from the 1st whistle & what ever league they are in they will always get that from me.

SISU hate bad publicity and if we can get national press like we have done recently showing them up more, then they will not want the bods in London seeing what disarray they have turned our club into.

SISU are a company who thrive on investment, if investors tempted to part with their money see SISU are a cowboy outfit then they’ll think twice in putting money in.

As for the players, i’d rather see a second string side put in anyway. Give the 1st teamers a rest. League far more important than the cup.

I thought the boycott was a total boycott and as some insisted on watching the game then they were asked to show support by not going in until after 15 mins.
Sounds simple to me. Don't understand why people can't get it myself!!!

sorry but i dont agree sisu have had the bad press and know they are not wanted therefore the damage is done. sisu will sell when they are ready not when us fans tell them. are you expecting a sky sports breaking news banner about it ? it wil be on local radio cov tele and maybe talksport because of richard keys thats about it

Do you really think SISU even know where Coventry is let alone what the supporters think of them? The idea of the boycott / protest is not to tell SISU we want them out as they wouldn't care anyway, the idea is to raise national awareness of the state of the club and more pointedly the way SISU have mismanaged £37 million of their clients money and have no plan or hope of ever recovering that money. Its SISU's reputation as financial experts that we are trying to affect and the protest is designed to gain the attention of the media and have them asking questions about SISU.
La Lucha - I am advocating a total boycott but what we have said to those who want to go to the game join us for 15 minutes before and after kickoff so that when the game kicks off it is to a near empty stadium and that would gain media attention.

Do you really think SISU even know where Coventry is let alone what the supporters think of them? SISU are based in London so yes I believe they are aware enough to know where coventry is. Iggle has been to the Ricoh a couple of times and as he is part of SISU they do know where it it.
La Lucha - I am advocating a total boycott but what we have said to those who want to go to the game join us for 15 minutes before and after kickoff so that when the game kicks off it is to a near empty stadium and that would gain media attention. It seems that most people are reading it as a 15min boycott.

Who are the SOC board? Who is ultimately in charge of the campaign? Why is this not on the website?

Not particularly agreeing with the argument, but some would say that anyone who hasn't being paying to watch Cov over the last few years has been directly killing Cov by reducing income.

I will speak on my personal experience. I used to go week in week out but ever since moving the Ricoh i’ve lost my buzz for the Saturday afternoon. I hate the whole experience. I’d rather go away games.

Down to a few factors.

1) The football
2) Been priced out
3) Soulless Ricoh
4) Lack of decent pubs near the ground
5) SISU

The whole experience of the day up the football has lost its appeal for me, not just on the pitch but in general.

I like many others would rather have a bet and watch the scores come in down the local. Football has lost its working class support in my eyes and it’s because of money men like SISU this has happened. They don't care about the fans simple as that.

La Lucha - there is no official board, none of us are democratically elected, there is no constitution etc. We hope to get better organized as time goes by but as SOC is about 3 weeks old please bare with us. As for not publishing our names etc - this was a deliberate decision as we didn't want to be accused of being on some sort of ego trip - we are just a few concerned and passionate fans who have banded together to try and effect some change at our club. There is no secret to our names as these have come out over the prevailing couple of weeks but we don't wish to trumpet ourselves as the fans representatives or anything like that as that would be unfair but judging by the very positive reaction the majority (anecdotally measured of course) of fans we have talked to we are doing something right.

Agree with pretty much every point you make there, the Ricoh can however generate a decent atmosphere, even without too many in there, but too infrequently.

The lack of pubs probably the biggest single factor for me, at Highfield Road would generally be watching the games half-cut.

Watching them sober a painful experience!

Highfield Road will always be the place for me. You could do the pubs along Gosford Street, walk into the ground with Mr Blue Sky blaring out. Stand in the West Terrace and enjoy the banter, have a smoke and regardless of the game, always have a laugh in there. Afterwards, stroll back down Gosford and end up in Town.

Now what we got, the Wheatsheaf or the Casino? Not exactly spoilt for choice plus in the ground now, stewards seem to find the slightest thing to complain about. Can’t enjoy a smoke, you can hear the players shouting (Like a reserve match) and then we have no good pub crawl back to drown our sorrows.

Kids nowadays won’t have the experiences we had of an tight atmospheric game, bunched together and generally enjoying ourselves. If you enjoy yourself now you get kicked out.

At least nowadays I rarely fall down the stairs, or when going for a quick pee just before half-time, get distracted by the Sky Blue Crew(scarily nubile and distressing young) practicing under the East Stand and accidentally walk into the ladies toilets, realise, and sheepishly walk out under the gaze of 15 or so, now silent, young girls.

haha - you don't appreciate the finer things in life till there gone eh.

I used to love walking through the main stand on occasions when i sat there, walking through the dingy rooms full of smoke and the old fella’s moaning about the ref and waiting to get served a beer.

Ah, dear old HR. Great memories, especially night games-what an atmosphere! Do you remember that tiny bar at the back of the Main stand? The smell of pies and beer all in the one small room. Never smelt it again since.

A post like this I find annoying. So by having 40 years of successive season ticket purchases I am now killing the club. Perhaps we should look at it the other way round -- if people had supported this club as they do in Norwich, Leicester, Forest, Ipswich than perhaps we would not have needed SISU in the first place. When did you last go -- Chelsea in the cup I would guess.
Ultimately it is people who do not generate the revenue the club needs through their blatent apathy that have left this club where it is and ultimately where it belongs. Were you so vocal when the "sisuscum" first were in town or did you even know about it -- probably hadn't bought the telegraph that evening.

I understand what you are saying KD but sometimes people HAVE to make a stand. This boycott on Sat. for instance. Nobody wishes to hurt the club but for it's long term future SISU have to go.

Agreed apathy is killing this club along with sisu

What boycott the one where people go in 15 minutes after kick off and still pay the money?

The boycott is for those who won't go, the protest is for those who go in late, better to do something than be apathetic to the situation

Tonylinc

That's the one. It started out as a full boycott but now is just a 15minute one. To my mind it serves all purposes. It shows Sisu just how much we need them to go, it (hopefully) gets media attention and still provides the club with income.

I'm all for the boycott but what is the point of going in after 15 minutes? You would of had to purchase a ticket to enter the ground this countering the argument about starving SISU of the money if your going to boycott, enter the game on the 75th that way you willn't have to pay as the gates are opened, the whole press can see the amount of fans coming in at one time and you have not paid anymore money into SISU's pockets.

Shambles!

If you're looking up the M69 and find yourself jealous of our support, there's something seriously, seriously wrong.

Well I am not going so the term "boycott" is appropriate for me. It will not be for those who actually go if they are late or not. I support a protest that would result in a pathetic home attendance which would gain some national exposure, That will clearly not happen so the compromise is that some people will now hang around for a few minutes before going in. Well that is surely true apathy and an admission that the boycott itself will not work. It is hardly a protest is it? Bit like an alcoholic saying he will only have 2 bottles of whisky today and not 3?
