Just looking through and both Cov sides have a decent scorer

Scott Hammond - 21 goals in 10 starts (2 subs)
Cherif Allegbissifou - 17 goals in 12 starts (1 sub)

Sign them up! (I have no idea of the standard of football)

Did I read right the U18's won 9-0?

Indeed. 16 goals in the last 2 games.

Team was: Skuza, Hickman, McMahon, Ford, Camwell, Bayliss, Doyle, Stedman, Finn, Smith, Ponticelli

Goals from:
Jordan Ponticelli (2)
Tom Bayliss
Chris Camwell
Jak Hickman
Billy Stedman
Kyle Finn
Dan Smith
Tyler Johnson

That's 14 wins from 20 games, 56 goals scored (most in the league) and just 26 conceded (joint most).

3-1 win for the U16s too. Another strong group, which has been added to recently with a few players from Category 1 clubs in preparation for next years intake. Picking up to add to your own, a sign of a good and well run academy.

This is the strongest the academy has been in recent time in my opinion. Forgetting the ongoing situation with the Alan Higgs Centre, the talent in the age groups is outstanding.

And just shows the madness if the academy is slowly wound down. These kids are the future of this football club.

The under 16's three goals - one scored by a player from the under 14 age group and the other two by players from the under 15 age group.
As STP says, we have the talent in all age groups

Got to base the future of the club around the academy if we are going to have any kind of long term future.

Spend the cash from selling everyone in the summer on decent coaches and a manager that can handle bringing youth through. Add in some fighters and leaders and Prem rejects. I think most fans would get behind that regardless of results.

U23s away to Colchester tonight (7pm) at their ground. Will be interesting to see who's part of the squad and who's not

Ronnie has a trial with bristol city apparently, theve put him in a hotel for 2 weeks
@ccfc121 you appear to be right about the two lads not being offered pro terms. Not been part of the squad for the last couple of games, good decision for both parties as they can now find the next step in their lifes whatever or wherever it may be. Gives a few of our promising 16s a chance to step up to the bench too in their place like on Saturday

He scored against them a few weeks back, maybe he impressed that day. Our U23s play Bristol City next week so I guess he'll play in that game

This is how the U18 table looks after 20 games:

image.jpeg

With 8 games remaining we are 14 points ahead of our closest rivals Crystal Palace.

The remaining 8 fixtures are:

Millwall (A), February 18th (12:00)

Nottingham Forest (A), March 4th (11:00)

Cardiff City (H), March 11th, (12:00)

Huddersfield Town (H), March 18th, (11:30)

Crystal Palace (A), March 25th, (12:00)

Crewe Alexandra (A), April 1st, (11:00)

Barnsley (H), April 8th, (11:00)

Crystal Palace (H), April 11th, (1:00, Tuesday)

If we do finish in first or second place we will be contesting in the play-offs for the first time since academies were categorised (2011/12)

The U23s play Bristol City tomorrow at the Alan Higgs Centre (1pm) in a rescheduled game.

The 'well known' trialists (if they play) should be easily indentified if they are as well known as Russell Slade has made out...

DKE is meant to be with Nuneaton for another two weeks but maybe this is the same sort of arrangement we had with Andre Wright and WBA... I'm sure he switched between being ineffective for us on a Saturday and back to West Brom to be ineffective for their reserves mid-week
