Good for you.

I'll be there - SISU will stay or go no matter whether there are 10k or 20k at this game. What about the rest of the staff that work at the club though? What about the players playing in front of the empty stadium?

I'm all for people protesting and that, but just don't think boycotting is the way to do it. I must admit, it took me a while to come round to this conclusion, but i just think there is a bigger picture to all this.

The bigger picture for me is about sending a message & making a point of principle. As for the players, I couldn't give a toss what they think, none of them will be here in 5 years anyway. I care about the club, not a bunch of overpaid players.

But surely there is a better way to get rid of them? I agree that raising awareness is crucial because bad PR for SISU won't please them. But just staying away on the one weekend when all gates are down anyway is a bit of a gift.

It would be much better to do something that really grabbed the imagination of the media.

Its difficult cause i want them out as much as you do, but i can't see what good comes from boycotting a game.

Having said all that - i'd rather a boycott than nothing at all

I also would rather something more imaginative, however with the current apathy surrounding the club I'm not sure what else would work.

Apathy is dead right. Someone gets off their backside to make an effort and do something that they believe is in the long term best interests of the club, and people just cannot be bothered. I realise that people have differing opinions of the best way of protesting, but you can bet your bottom dollar that virtually all of the crowd that does turn up on saturday, despite wanting SISU out, will have made no effort whatsoever.

To be honest it shows that the club is in disarray from the bottom to the top.

So much for loving your club.

A while ago i suggested that thing that the swedish clubs did - basically everyone in the stadium remained silent for 15 minutes. That'd be a bit weird but it'd be different - and difficult. Maybe everyone could turn their backs on the game for 15 minutes? i dunno.

Hitting SISU in their other businesses would work as well. Sponsors, Partners, etc...hounding them so they know what they've done to the club might help, keep targeting the national press.

If they want a PR war, then lets give them one - we'll Mandleson their asses!

What a complete waste of money and surely this proves that SISU have'nt a clue about running a football club, we've got a bloody club ship !!

Despite every thread these days derailing into SISU talk which I can read in every other thread, in a bid to talk about something different, am I the only football fan these days who still LOVES the FA Cup?

The 3rd round draw is one of my favourite days in the football calendar. Even when we get an uninspiring draw like this, there's still that little bit of magic about the FA Cup in my eyes. Maybe I'm just an old romantic at heart?

Depends how big the pub is what difference it will make to SISU if everybody else from your pub is going apart from the 10 of you.

I do wonder how many who are backing the boycott, and proudly saying that they're not going, actually go very often anyway?

I'm not going, but not part of the boycott, just can't make it down this Saturday.

Nah, you're not! I love it to! I'm not going this weekend because it's my birthday (the big 3-ohhhhhhhhhh) and I'm making the most of it! But I do love the FA Cup draw too.

The FA Cup is special.
I can see why this was picked to boycott/protest but it is still sad that it is the FA Cup it is being done on, as some have said what happens if we win what then?
Does the next round get boycotted as well?
This is by no means a go at those protesting as something has got to be done and good luck to you and fair play for trying to do something, but what will you do if we get say man city in the next round at home?

Do we know what kind of side Southampton are going to put out? Is it bad of me to really hope they put out their kids and any random homeless people they can find in a bid to keep their squad strong for the league so we can take advantage before getting Man City away in the 4th round and causing the years biggest upset before continuing onto the 5th round and ....

With all the misery of our impending relegation, a nice Cup win would certainley soften the blow. :)

Clive Platt to be the 2012 Keith Houchen, mark my words.

the numbers that they're claiming have been sold sound a bit off. I find it hard to imagine that with season tickets out of the equation they're on target to get around the same attendance as they do every week. Maybe things really have bottomed out and we're down to the absolute hardcore that will go no matter what.

I for one will be protesting outside and not going in but hoping that we absolutely stuff Southampton. If we get through to the next round I doubt that we will do the protest again as it will lose its impact with repetition and we will come up with other ways of raising SISU's profile in a totally negative way. We have caught the attention of the nationals judging by calls I have had today from newspapers and agencies and we must keep up the pressure until SISU are gone.

Yea for the palace tie last year there were 8k, I didn't think we would get that high this year.

omg so many of these shity arguments going on

you cant say that someone who goes to watch cov play in the fa cup doesnt love their club, where is your logic

noone can say wether the boycott will work or not,its not black and white

me personally,id love see people do the full 90 min boycott but understand those cov fans who want to see the game, they are supporting the team they love in a more conventional way thats all

Well, Lambert got sent off last week so that's him out (unless they've appealed it). I would think they'll put in some squad players so they can concentrate on the league. I'd say the same for us but I'm pretty sure those that play ARE the squad.

Agree, despite TV and The Premier League generally devaluing it over the last few years, always love the Cup.

I'd go as far to say media pundits such as Adrian Durham too. His rant about Apoel being in the knock-out stages of the Champions League and that they shouldn't be there in the first place was excruciating! Surprisingly elitist considering he's a Posh fan
