2nd is he paid a fee for Jordan Clarke to take him to Scunthorpe!!!!

Clarke isn't doing too bad at the moment though, and there is a good chance he will be playing in the Championship next seaon

Central midfield, remember seeing him play in that awful 1-0 win at Oldham

Wasn't that where the ball hit everyone inside the box and some how Cody managed to poke it in?

I tell you one player who is a Robin's sort-

Ivor Lawton!

Get him back and offer a short term deal!!'n

I'd imagine it's a blank canvas for everyone at the club....
does Ivor Lawton have time to buy a ticket for Wembley and get a new deal?

Robins did well for us before because of McGoldrick, pure and simple. He will need to get lucky again with a goal rich striker if he is to be judged a success. He was disappointed with the owners last time he walked, God knows what he will make of them this time around.

Thing is with Lawton, aren't we basing a lot of our praise based on a Cov kid, love the City reputation and words from Mowbray bigging him up?

Would love to keep him here if he was any good. But is he?

Port Vale haven't offered him a contract yet.

Don't want to lose a talented kid through our fingers, but how many of us have actually seen him play?

Been plenty of kids before been bigged up who have then just disappeared into the ether.

Is he only getting petrol money as well according to your source?

I think there's the nucleus of a Mark Robins team here. Bigirimana in front of the back four for sure. Kwame Thomas as a lone striker. Reilly is in the mould of Bailey.

Wouldn't be surprised if he goes back in for Richard wood. Can see this being the team for the remainder of the season:

Burge

DKE
Willis
Turnbull
Haynes

Bigirimana

G.Thomas
Stevenson
Reilly
Reid

K. Thomas

And who are most definitely not?

From what I recall he likes his teams well organised, disciplined and hard working, but also does like to play decent football.

Who do you think will get the immediate cold shoulder and be told their future lies elsewhere?
I don't think any players we have are Robins type , and if he's got any sense he would get rid of the lot of them their all shite !!!

I agree, another one of our own who's got the fight and passion but I've not seen him play so cannot say if he's worthy of a deal. But another who cannot get in because he kept breaking down.
To me the telegraph created a story from nothing with him last week, I get his grief about feeling let down and dejected from being the poster boy and praise from TM saying he could be the midfield warrior the club needs or words to that effect.... but if he cannot remain fit he's never gonna be the warrior and we're not in a position to carry passengers anymore.

Also, does anybody remember what his record on signings was like? I remember he brought in Moussa and Leon Clarke but have probably conveniently forgotten any shockers he signed.

After a bit of looking back....Mark Robins signings 2012/13
Connor Henderson (now at Crawley)
Jamie Reckord (now at Oldham)
Frank Moussa (now at Walsall)
James Bailey (now at Carlisle)
Leon Clarke (now at sheff Utd)
Blair Adams (now at Hamilton)
Danny Philliskirk (now at Blackpool)

He signed Henderson, reckord, and moussa in his first few days then as the weeks went on got Bailey and Adams. Leon Clarke came to replace the the departing McGoldrick after his loan. Danny Philliskirk came in his last few days.

He also mentions Blair Adams as a player Robins liked. I thought it was weird that we let him go when we did.

Would have no problem with Lawton coming back. Seemed odd to let him go.

But if he is injury plagued he is of no use to us and a waste of wages unfortunately

Whys it odd to let him go? Has he actually shown anything to suggest he's the ability to do it on a Saturday other than he's one of our own.
I'd love nothing more than a core group of players that have the club in there hearts, but ultimately you need that ability and fitness too. Huge questions on both parts here....

More than one manager has passed comment about his ability, the club retained him through a lengthy injury spell then as soon as he's fit Slade casts him aside and he's off looking for another club.

Its not like we've got a squad full of high performing players, surely he was worth a go?

I agree he's worth another look... new manager now new season to build for. What's wage demands tho, is he worth the gamble on breaking down again?
I thought it was MV that told him there was no deal to be done months ago

-----------rcc/burge--------------
willis--clarke---turnbul--haynes/stokes
-----rose---bigi/stevenson--reilly------
jones-------------------------------reid
------------beavon/k thomas-----------

with g thomas being used on wings perhaps like mcsheffrey was for scunthrope, cutting in

i think robins played willis at rb didnt he? or maybe that was just pressley actually. i cant remember. actually robins had christie so maybe he will go with dke

i have no bias. i like reilly and beaven. clarke was man mountain vs gillingham when i saw him last. have to hope robins can get him playing like that every week.

Back then was a centre pairing of Edje and wood.
Jordan Willis was just a boy then and only made 1 sub appearance in the cup v Arsley, only played 19 minutes under Robins in total.

At right back Robins used Jordan clarke or Cyrus Christie but all the riots last week about Willis playing at right back....

Clarke is shite, I would go with Willis and Turnbull ahead of him.
