But CWR will still be going I'm sure so the points are still valid. Andd no chance there'll be commentary unless it's a fan doing it for free! Used to like the old sky option on occasion, when you could pick the two rival fans commentating. For the current SB Player highlights, I'm 99% sure the commentary is added after the game, just something a little too wooden about it.

Put iFollow on TV and audio commentary on the iPad. Sorted. Then laugh at the number of times Eakin says the wrong player.

For those planning to use a VPN you will need a decent one to stream HD because the free ones will be too slow. I use F-secure Freedome which is a good price and very fast. (although you will still need a decent internet connection speed)

What are their data sharing policies? I need to get myself a new VPN.

I used to listen but it was such tosh this year that I never bothered renewing, For me KO would be 8am and I am usually on the road at that time, if I could watch delayed that would be OK.

As others have said no doubt lots of dodgy re broadcasts.

I can also use a VPN to watch BBC etc, does slow things down, not ideal.

Looks like Sheff Utd website has updated to the new format.
The ifollow season subscription is £45 but is says live games not available on ios and android devices at the moment.

Pubs would make a killing if they could get it on. Have away day pubs where they would have the city games on.
What are the rules on the club putting on live feeds for away days? Clubs have relayed games before so it must be possible. Should speak to the casino and get some on, especially any midweek ones that are miles away. Sure they'd have enough people happy to pay a fiver for something like that.

Doubt it would stop those who are dedicated enough to travel midweek from going so wouldn't really hit attendances.

Bump ...
Some more news about this iFollow service:
1. It's both streaming and VOD which is ideal for people who live in a difficult time zone.
2. Every club has the option to add additional cameras and/or commentary if they so wish.
Unfortunately CCFC seem to be doing little to promote this service to their overseas fans. But according to Timmy it's all about the "revenue streams".

The Sheffield Utd £45 option seems to be like the outgoing Player with live radio commentary and then full match replays, has anyone tried accessing that site with a VPN to see if it offers them the non-uk price and sub with live matches? I can't imagine it'd let you pay the local price and then get around it later.

I tried subscribing to ifollow on the the new Oldham web-site without a VPN, because I was connecting from Portugal. I was offered the free and the £130 video option. I then connected via a VPN UK connection. I was offered the free and the audio £45 option.

So clearly, the offers are being tailored according the country ip address seen by the ifollow server.

The ifollow subscription page has the following announcement. So when our site is updated, (one minute before KO in our first match next season?), existing SBP subscribers should log-in using their SBP details.

Important information

The migration of accounts from PlayerHD to the new iFollow service has now been completed. Those users that have existing PlayerHD login details will now be able to sign in, however you may be required to update your password via the ‘Forgot Your Password?’ link. We hope you enjoy the service.

thanks for that

what we need next is someone in uk to use vpn and buy 100 pound option if they can see it. and then test it out on a stream. cant be one till august

just feel that they will find a way to stop uk fans viewing

Well you can only subscribe on clubs with the new web-sites. And that excludes the CCFC offal ATM, so I doubt anyone would want to subscribe to another club's ifollow offer.

But someone could try connecting to another clubs ifollow subscription page using a non UK VPN connection in the UK. My bet is that they will be offered the £130 video service.

Of course there may be other checks and restrictions. For example, I imagine that they will probably require payment with a credit card issued by a foreign bank, registered to a foreign address.

It's a hell of a gamble to subscribe to the overseas one and hope that they don't spend their time shutting down people using VPN. Then again you could get away with it for ages with Netflix (possibly still can) and that's a behemoth of a company so it's tempting.

130 quid to watch every single game in hd? so tempting

especially away games.

No, Netflix knows if you are using a VPN. I use SuperVPN on my phone here in hospital and it allows me to watch iPlayer, Mobdro, Showbox and the Sky Sports and Cinema apps. However when I tried to view Netflix I had a message on the screen "It appears you are using a VPN..."
