I understand that. But how has that decision been arrived at given what has been said in court today?

We know what the rules state such as requiring independent specialist marketing among other things. This has been debated numerous times before and it was generally concluded that SISU would make a case that CCC had effectively sold the freehold and CCC would argue they hadn't.

What seems to have happened today from reading the reports is the CCC QC has confirmed it was effectively a freehold sale, that they knew the rules, ignored them and nobody should have a problem with that. And then the judge agreed! Its like a rerun of the ethics committee.

Not saying CCC are guilty, at least not technically, but I'm not seeing how the case is so open and shut that it shouldn't even be argued. Irrespective of CCFC or SISU as a Coventry tax payer I would expect to see that course of action scrutinised.

Yes, the judge was wrong in both law and fact. Thanks for the input Tim. I mean Dave.

He says the terms given to Wasps were never offered to Sisu or any other potential bidders.

He argues that this shows the council did not do everything it could to secure the best possible price for the asset by attracting rival bidders to drive up the purchase price.
"

To be fair, that is the council bang to rights as far as I am concerned...
sounds like you and tiny tim went to the same law school.

No, you are actually correct, that IS Joy leaving court, but on 15th July 2026 and it's her outside court after JR 17's 12th appeal has just been rejected.

Today was a big loss to you sisu supporters.

oh yeah, there aren't any.
And time for a celebration drink for the CCC supporters.

Oh yeah, there aren't any.

This stupid calling people SISU or CCC supporters needs to stop. It is CCFC we all support. Seeing what SISU has done to our club doesn't make you a CCC supporter. Just the same as seeing what CCC has done to the long term future of our club doesn't make you a SISU supporter. It is all shit. They have all had a hand in our demise.

It is time to forget about the legals and get behind the lads. Lets have an enjoyable season in Division 4. Lets enjoy going to grounds where the Butts would compare nicely. It is time to party at games. We deserve it after what we have been through.

Bottom line is everybody fooked up. This isn't at all about picking sides.

Has anyone had time to blow up that image and if so, on closer inspection, does the writing say ' Coventry City play association football. They are known as a Sky Blues. They play in League Two. They won the cup in 1987. Coventry is in the West Midlands.'

I wonder if he regrets being the cheerleader for the losing side...on court battles that is.
When SISU are gone, who will give him his exclusives ?
He will probably just go round the pubs, clubs and casino's of Coventry and Warwickshire saying to doormen who won't let him in 'Do you know who I used to be?'

He might concentrate on using his links with CCFC to get exclusives with players and Mark Robins and talk about the footballing side of things (which I hope will be more positive next year).

Hopefully now this episode is over we can forget our differing opinions and get behind Cov, I'm trying to convince a few NOPM to get along this season, if we could be getting 12-15k on average it will be a good atmosphere and show what support the club have. The money might go to SISU but ultimately it is supporting our club.

I've said before, NOPM is just an excuse, not actually an active protest. If the team are winning, then the attendances will go up. It will be a slower increase the lower league we're in.

If at March we're top, the crowds will be 15k roughly, and hopefully we can take that into league one should we get promoted.

As fans we've all got differing opinions on how to get rid of SISU, the players, MR but at the end of the day we just want to have fun supporting our team.

It's got to stop being a chore

Most importantly he always stuck up for CCFC which is much more important for me. Nothing else matters in this sorry saga, just CCFC.

Unlikely there are grounds to appeal on this one
Nor were there grounds for the original application, or any of JR1. Didn't stop them from dragging out the whole process for years.

I am past caring about the NOPM lot. It was understandable when we were playing in Northampton. It was the only thing we could do to help try and bring our club home.

There is not any evidence I have seen to show SISU taking money out of our club....and even if they did they would be entitled to. They have brought MR back. They could have done it cheaper. He has been given what looks to be a decent budget for where we are now. Even Fisher is keeping his gob shut.

I have finally had enough of the politics surrounding our club. I just want the season to start and forget about our problems. After all I can't do anything about them.

Most of us knew that. But it is time for the animosity to end.

I can't see how championing court action that even I could see was doomed to failure from the start and has done nothing but predictably (if you want to pull your head out of the clouds) damage CCFC is sticking up for CCFC myself but each to their own.

I'm glad that the court action happened. It should mean that we are a step closer to uniting. No more crap about unlawful activities.

I just wish that uesterdays case was closed because of what happened and not timescales. There will always be someone ready to bring it up in the future.

I get what your saying and tend to agree, but you can't forget about the legal's when they continue to take them out!!

Not if they happily destroy CCFC in the process. Which seems to be the plan. Everything that they've done has pushed us down at every stage. I can't see how they win without CCFC loosing.
First time I read this I thought you were talking about NOPM.

Who said forget? I still haven't forgotten what Richardson did to our club. I haven't forgotten what anyone has done to our club since. But what do we get from arguing about the same old shit day after day, year after year......if it carries on we will just be like the Sunderland supporters.

Indeed, better to test things.

The downside being of course we're talking process rather than the 'right' thing to do, and given previous relations disintegrating, I'd have been very, very surprised if CCC hadn't done this particular deal by the book, and then some!

If you are saying that you think CCC kept things lawful I would agree. Their legal team would have made as sure as they could. But keeping things within the law and doing the right thing are two totally different things.

Some people go to games and talk about the legals more than anything else. Match days should be about the game, how we are doing, how we think we will do against who we are playing and similar.

Great post Astute. Spot on.

We can't influence the off the field matters so time to re-focus on MR and the team as the season ahead. This *could* be our most important season in years. Who knows what a promotion could do for the club.
