Neymar will make back the transfer fee for PSG in no time, the money in football is ridiculous at the moment but you do have to consider that it's one of the most popular entertainment mediums in the entire world. For comparison, the new Spiderman film cost Sony $165m and took $654.5m at the box office. Once you account for marketing, which isn't included in the film's budget, I'd imagine Sony have made about $400m from this film so far. Is it overly ridiculous that Neymar will generate a similar amount of revenue for PSG in terms of sponsorship, prize money and, probably most importantly in the long run, increases the standing and worldwide perception of the French league? How many kids in America or China are going to start 'supporting' PSG now because Neymar plays for them? It seems a ridiculous fee to pay for one man, but from the point of view that he is an 'investment for a media industry' I can see why the fee is so high. Not to mention that PSG are being bankrolled by the actual country of Qatar I'm pretty sure and can afford to pay it.
