Contract cancelled by mutual consent..
Wonder if there was a row after the game last night?
How do you free up funds from a player who wasn't on a contract?More likely freeing up £££s and a place for the Pompey defender?
Sounds most likely.I suspect MR thought he wasn't up to it, said "look son, I'm not offering you a deal - thanks for your time and good luck elsewhere", which Pearson acknowledged was MR's call and accepted, then it was put out there as "mutual consent".
Leaves us a man down at CB which hopefully will be filled ASAP, given Rod and Willis injury concerns.

He was still being paid. How do you free up funds from a player who wasn't on a contract?
It does. Just means the arrangement can be terminated at any time.I thought non-contract terms means that you still get paid a weekly/monthly wage?
You would be paid alright rolling week by week with no end date unless mutually agreedI thought non-contract terms means that you still get paid a weekly/monthly wage?
No, he was on non contract terms. Also weren't he on a pay as you play deal? So he got paid for last night and that's it?..
Not quite MotM for me, but thought he played well. Has probably got an offer to play regularly elsewhere.Well, I didn't see that coming. He was my MotM last night.
I think its cancellation date.Doesn't he need to sign for somebody by tomorrow because he played for us?
Or does it go by cancellation date?
You miss the point, the funds were always there, so it's hardly freeing up £££.
But I guess freeing up a space for a player who wasn't even contracted must be like winning the lottery...
Ah knew it was one of them, think it was that bloke who signed for crawley a few days after couldn't play until janI think its cancellation date.

Maybe MR thought the bloke's injury record was too worrying (like Reda where we took a gamble and lost), rather than blithely discarding a perfectly decent pro with a decent fitness record in the hope of getting something better...If robins hasn't got anybody lined up it's like Mowbray and Martin all over again.
Either way, hopefully there's reason behind it!Maybe MR thought the bloke's injury record was too worrying (like Reda where we took a gamble and lost), rather than blithely discarding a perfectly decent pro with a decent fitness record in the hope of getting something better...

Yet if he'd signed a 2 year deal and not played we'd also be a joke. They're a bunch of simpletons.Facebook is in meltdown, apparently this shows we're a joke.
Very odd move. Why did he play last night? Has someone offered him a contract? Have we a replacement lined up?
But concerning especially after Robins reeled off names of injured players post match last night, some of which who were defenders!!
Eh, why? He came on what was basically an extended trial, wasn't up to scratch so has been let go.Facebook is in meltdown, apparently this shows we're a joke.
