Jan, am I correct in saying that the campaign is now solely to make SISU put the club up for sale / on the market?

I don't think anyone is questioning Jan's initial intentions and the poster who put that some of the comments on here directed towards him are dispicable needs to get off his high horse.

From my point view I was impressed with their commitment at the start and was all in favour of the protest but as soon as they voted a board in and started taking minutes etc. they lost all credibility in my eyes! As a poster above has put delusions of grandeur certainly kicked in and for them to then think they could have any major impact and bearing on what is currently happening at the club is comical at best. And as for the quote about offering to work with both sides well that was just cringeworthy.

If they would have kept it with just a group of fans protesting about the running of the club they, in my opinion, would have had the same impact but kepy the majority of support behind them. Unfortunately, after a few weeks in to then be tendering resignations and making statements about it not going in the direction they originally thought it would leads them open to ridicule.

I, as I would say the majority of the people on this board, applaud Jan for the initial effort and hard work he, and others, put in to get the initial media attention to the plight of our club but I am afraid that the tangent SOC then subsequently took has made it, in my opinion, a laughing stock.

Actions speak louder than words. From their statement on the offal I took that they are still trying to 'co-exist' with any interested parties. Unless I missed something?

I do agree that we should have something better than the SBT going forward though.

Otis - it was the pettiness and smallmindedness that shocked me. The meeting was told by an individual who associates with Elliott that Joe has stated that once they are in control of the club they would want nothing to do with any group that has dared to talk to the people currently running the club. Nor do they want any sort of fans representation as they are fans themselves. For balance I asked Hoffman directly the next day and he denied this stance. And we were accused of mixed messages!

Whilst I understand and respect you resigning because you didn't agree with the change of direction of the group, the talk of GH not having any future contact with the group sounds little more than 'hearsay' so I'm very surprised that this info contributed to your decision.

Have to agree with this, i was at the protest and went into the casino during the game with several fans including Jan. The minute i heard people talking about committee's and dialogue with the owners, who have to be amongst the most disliked people in the clubs history, i felt this has all the hallmarks of an SBT 2 and is doomed to self important failure. I don't believe any group will ever be able to successfully represent the views of the fans of this club, you only have to read this forum to realise how varied our viewpoints are. Finally i have'nt attended any of the SOC meetings so can't comment on events, but to here jan calling the people who turned up to support him as a sisu out chanting mob when he was leading the chanting with a megaphone smacks of sour grapes. I look at this and then i look at what Leeds and Portsmouth are doing and think we just haven't got a clue! Save our city should be united fans, and sadly its divided them!

Embarrassing isn't it? I don't know whether to put it down to our fans being so downtrodden over the years. There doesn't seem to be enough pride left to spark unrest.

In short, all this started with me and a few others deciding to try and boycott the saints game, other ppl including Jan emailed us and decided to get a meeting arranged to talk about things and get more ppl involved, got about 30 odd turn up for the 1st couple of meetings and got more organised and all was well.

after the cup game at the next meeting the agenda began to change, a board was elected and was decided that the board wanted to begin to try to work with the club which most fans present didnt really want as was seen as kind of working with the enemy as our club is currntly owned by sisu.

at the meeting last thursday 5 fans turned up for it which speaks volumes about how the fans felt about the new direction the group was heading so frank discussions took place and was decided that we would go back to basics if you like and focus our efforts on turning the screw re sisu and get the portests back up and running again.

a big deal was made about wanting to work with the new owners if/when they gain control of the club, the party that is currently talking to the club which hoffman is involved in in my view would have no problem with this if they gain control as we have already had dialogue with him in the past and one or two people involved in SOC know him and Joe so feel it would not be too much of an issue.

we didnt want to be seen as a group as "trying to get in to bed" with sisu if you like when the main reason for this group being set up in the 1st place was to protest against them.

the time is now and sisu still remain at the club so we need to focus our efforts on continuing to be an irritant to them, keep protesting against them and keep raising awareness through the national media, the olympics are coming up soon so if they remain here then we will be protesting in front of the worlds media come the summer, this is the message we need to send out to sisu.

SOC will still carry on and the away day to Reading is very much on and there will be a meeting at Hen Lane Club on thursday 9th Febuary if anyone would like to attend and put their points of view accross would be very welcome.

I went along to the other meetings and the protest because I want sisu out and not because I believed we could in any way influence any decisions the club make but to embarrass sisu and show them up for what they are.

something had to be said and done at the end of the day mate.

maybe if all these ppl on here turned up last week then they would have voted for the stance Jan and Andy were trying to take.

Think the proof was in the pudding tho at the amount of people that turned up, sisu out was the original aim and wee need to get back to that stance.
we havent said we wont meet with the club at all anymore, but we would want to do it with the whole group/fans present rather than just 1 or 2 of the board members, if Tim fisher wants to come down Hen Lane to chat to the fans (which he has said he would) then thats fine and am all for that.

As for not wanting to back the team at home games thats just bull, we want to support the team, its just some people do not want to buy tickets while sisu remain in charge which is fair enough hence why we started the back the boys campaign at Reading, that way people that dont want to give sisu money can attend that and get behind the team.

I want to support the team at home games but refuse to give any money to sisu but that hasnt stopped me attending all but 2 of our home league games this season, ive been luck enough to win some and been given some off friends for games so it can be done!!

Remember when sisu first took over we were averaging crowds of 20000 and now its 13500 so in 4 years sisu have managed to drive over 6000 fans away with their mis management of our football club.

Its time to up the ante again and try and drive them away from our club, the whole city want them gone, potential investors are currently talking to them so people are there trying to secure a future for our football club.

We have achieved a lot in short space of time but have lost momentum in the last couple of weeks with the change of direction SOC was taking, we need to get back on track and focus our attentions on sisu.

In Brinner we trust. All we should be focused on is supporting the team and creating an environment that encourages SISU to get out as quickly as possible. It is possible to do both these things, as was being promoted and organised by Brinner and Stubbsy and others. Jans' more gentrified approach added precious little other than disengaging with many, and giving Sisu an adversary they would feel they could "deal with". Appearing credible, speaking nicely and organising a rabble is all very well but not needed, when it doesn't help support the core objective of Backing The Boys and getting SISU OUT.
