Coventry City can confirm we have agreed the transfer of Charlie McCann to Manchester United...
The 15-year old Academy product moves to the Old Trafford club having been with the Sky Blues since the age of seven.
Academy Manager Richard Stevens said: "When a big football club come knocking, and it is the club that Charlie supports, you must let him go and have that experience.
"We did not want to sell him, we did not need a fee for him even though there was a fee involved. He has been unbelievable for us, even making his England debut back in August.
"Charlie goes with complete support from me and the rest of the staff from the Academy."
Not too sure how highly rated he was compared to the rest of his group, I'm sure there were other players of a similar age who look even better prospects who are still here. Perhaps @SlowerThanPlatt may know more.
There's 2 others who are as highly rated in the same age group as McCann. Ngandu is one but has had a few injuries
B.Rowe. He also has been involved with England, plays centre backWho's the other, I'm intrigued

Thanks mate, hopefully we can hold on to these players a bit longer. At least till they have played in the first team.
Why?Dream move for the lad but no chance of ever playing in the first team
Could understand if he went to Chelsea or Manchester City but United have one of the best track records in England for involving youthWhy?
From the CT comments section :emoji_zipper_mouth::
The keyword in this article is “SOLD”.
The Sisu Circus Way:
“SOLD” applies to exiting bright young players
“FREE”, “RELEASED” and “UNWANTED” applies to incoming crocks
… and they wonder why everyone is turning NOPM. Ha!
I agree completely, I meant why did he have 'no chance of ever playing in the first team'. We also have a very good record of bringing youth through into the first team.Could understand if he went to Chelsea or Manchester City but United have one of the best track records in England for involving youth
Not sure exactly. When Jadon Sancho went to Man City (now at Dortmund) from Watford it was for a fee rising up to 500kAnybody have an idea what the fee is?
Just to confirm to people, teams like Man Utd will take youngsters from far bigger teams than CCFC....
'Shows how far we've fallen'...
... erm, Man U would take academy players from us at any point in our past and future...
Anybody have an idea what the fee is?
blast from pastIsn't that the fella from The Upper Hand?
Welbeck?Fair play to the lad, just out of interest, when was the last time united brought through a youngster and he played in the first team for 5+ years? No one jumps to mind other then the likes of Beckham, Neville, Scholes.
