Well that's their first clean sheet in 11 matches so pretty poor really.
Barnet actually learned that's why they were getting beaten all the previous games because if their hung Ho up and at Em tactics. They played narrow and got men behind the ball to stem our play. Seeming they were a home I would say that's a compliment to city if you ask me

I'm not disheartened but I do worry that games like this were there for the taking and we lack the ability to score goals consistently. McNulty looks a dud to me. Nazon has been impressive but he can not carry the team and we will need to resolve this issue if we are to go up.

Every game I’ve seen McNulty he’s looked so sluggish and poor. Really had high hopes for him, prove me wrong mark!

He's definitely looked sluggish at times. Confidence? Fitness? It's a weird one. Robins seems certain he will start banging them in, but it just doesn't look that way does it.

We looked like a cautious boxer first half. All City fans (who have watched them recently) knew we had more in the tank - hence frustraated. Felt disappointed at the end, but grateful that we ended stronger and looked the more likely as the game went on. Apart from early on, they never had a sniff. May be a good point come the end of the season - who knows , but next few games are tricky.

Disappointed that we couldn't convert chances but that's been the story of the season so far. I would be more concerned if we created nothing at all. The game was there for the taking but again goes to show that fans shouldn't be buying the promotion flags just yet.

It's a point to throw in the bucket, win our home games and draw away then we will be up there

onwards and upwards !

It's official now isn't it? Our strikers are useless! 16 shots, 6 on target, no goals. And why bring on Ponticelli at 85 minutes?
McNulty, Beavon and Biamou ONE goal between them all season.

Poor game, lack of quality on both sides.
Barnet were depleted and once again our defence was untroubled. Our forwards were disjointed.
Not sure what the sub strategy was?
Beavon stretched Crewe last week and lots of chances were created.
The fans stayed with the team which was good to see.

Steady 5th place keep there or higher until after Xmas and we can really kick on

If we were as motivated to address the lack of goal production, as we are proud of our clean sheets ...we’d be walking the league

Weird isn't
I was really surprised that when a bit of cash miraculously became available on deadline day , it wasn't for a goal scorer.
Still Nazon got his chance to play in his natural position due to injuries. The same may happen for Ponti one day.

Was at the game. It reminded me of a cup tie when a lower league team play against one of the big guns
Barnet were working like dogs to make sure we couldn't settle on the ball. I kept thinking they'd tire. They did to some extent as the second half wore on but they managed to hang on and not concede
If we'd managed to score one goal others would have been likely as they'd have had to push forward more
You have to sometimes give credit to the opposition for doggedness like Barnet displayed today when they had so many players out

The bald CB for Barnet was the MOM by a country mile. He made them tick, and he totally bossed the game. His ball distribution was fantastic, and pretty much extinguished any forward threat from our attack. For long spells we played "Hoofball" and their defence coped very easily. Apart from the time Jodi Jones pushed the ball round their RB and ran inside him to Shoulder charge him off the ball was very quiet. The suicide pass across our midfield to their attacking midfielder nearly cost us dearly. The only full game I've seen, and on this performance without any decent strikers, I don't really feel that we'll be there or there abouts. Hope I'm wrong, but a massive improvement is needed.

Would agree with this mostly. They setup to frustrate us and break us down and today it worked. I think a lot of people will see this game and the usual negative comments will be out, we have no chance etc etc. This game wasn't a typical performance this season, we have performed better but historically this would have been a game we would have lost 1-0

Well it wasn't great.

Positive is another clean sheet

Ponticelli from what I saw will only play a bit part in games. Robins wants forwards to work as defensive cover and I think he will need time to work on it

Shows also how misleading stats are - 17 shots on target but only 2 of any real worth.
Not bad only let in 2 or 3 goals in since Burge was recalled.
As for Ponticelli can you really tell that from 5 minutes as a sub?
(He still did more then McNulty;) )
Not really seen much of him but surly like any other player that comes in, needs time to settle in and understand this level of football.
You are so quick at righting off players.

But surely we knew that was their strategy.
They play this type of football against other teams with little success.
We need to be able to break them down and make them pay for being so negative.
That is the reason this is their first clean sheet in 11 games others have broke them down.
Well here's to next week PUSB.

The real positive for me about that game - speaking as a season ticket holder who attends 6-8 away games each season - was that I didn't bother driving down the M40 to see it. Our non-scoring strikers are doing us proud. For a team wanting to top the division, that was a poor result against a very mediorce team. For a team hoping to finish in the top seven, it was passable. But if anyone thinks that a non-season ticket holder who saw that would happily pay £25 on the gate to watch future home games, they are seriously deluding themselves.

I'm not writing anyone off - unlike you I don't call our players shit on this forum. I'm saying he likes forwards to do defensive work as part of their game. I don't think ponticelli has come through an academy system and like jones when he arrived he will take time for an all round game to be developed.

Burge conceded 3 in one game by the way

Of course I would have liked us to win by 2 or 3 playing exciting attacking football. But this team isn’t like that. We are solid defensively and although we have shots/chances are not good at turning them into goals. We have the makings of promotion if we start converting a few chances and as long as we are winning at home and not losing away we will be in a great position for promotion.

You are the worst poster on here for slagging off players, then denying it when you are proved wrong.

As for Burge how many clean sheets this season?

As a none season ticket holder who has missed only one home game I sadly did go today.
Fuck um not going next week!

It's all about balance isn't it. I dare say if we were more cavalier we would be letting more goals in.

It think it's fine at the moment to be honest, or certainly would be if we could just be a bit more clinical in front of goal. We hit two straight at the keeper today and both Biamou and McNulty should have done better with chances they had.

Well I'm not and burge is a poor keeper by anyone standards.

He is much improved and surprise surprise hasn’t cost us a goal as yet. Big change from last season. He is no worse than any L2 keeper I’ve seen as yet.

He's done alright this season. He has got a great back four in front of him though.

our problems are definitely nothing to do with the keeper. And thats from someone who hasnt always being Burges biggest fan.
