How on earth can people get that drunk by 3pm ?

You really have to be going some to do that

I go to lots of away games and don't generally see much drunken behaviour. I do sit away from the "idiots" on purpose, so that may help. As always the behaviour of the small minority is higher profile than the vast majority. Maybe 20 people were out of order yesterday out of 1,400 city fans. 20 to many, but still the smallest minority.

I was embarrassed to be a ccfc fan yesterday...not the team; we were out thought and out played by the better team on the day. I was embarrassedn by some of our fans. The moron who threw a bottle of beer on the pitch. The drunks who were abusive to Accrington stewards and fans as well as to fellow cov fans. But mostly I was embarrassed by the guy who for the whole second half did nothing than shout abuse at their keeper. Not banter but abuse calling him a ‘peado’ every 5 seconds. Not once did he encourage the team, not once focus on the game but for 45mins + just a string of abuse. Boring and boorish.

And for the record their 'keeper was excellent.

And just before the bottle there was a coffee cup (presumably full from the way it sailed thru the net). TBBM called Chapman Bananaman - presumably because he was dressed all in yellow - which raised a titter or two but gave rise to some particularly unpleasant comments. The thing that bothered me the most was that at no point did any of the people abusing Chapman seem to reflect that it might have been inspiring him to a brilliant performance.

At the end of the game, the drummer (or one of his pals) from block 14, had a go at Jones then started on another bloke who questioned him on it. Some of our fans can be right arseholes at times.

I stood right next to this. Jones was screamed at by this idiot and responded rather pathetically I have to be honest, holding his hands up like a schoolboy being caught by the teacher, like he'd done nothing wrong. This is what sparked the response by the bloke who tried to reason with the idiot , reminding him that we are in division 4, that players need encouragement and not the bile that this cretin was spewing. After that a young woman who was with the ape got involved and then her dad came over and offered to sort out the chap who was defending Jones. It was short , nasty , and had my daughter tell me she didn't want to stand on any terraces ever again.
On top of that some around where I was were complete morons : every player was at some point a "f@cking c***, a useless prick, a bunch of f@cking w@nkers, (that looks like wankers !) . The Accrington staff were also on the end of abuse , completely unnecessarily.
Despite the result , I enjoyed the day out. The only people who spoiled it were a minority of Coventry supporters. To use their language, they should f*ck off and stay away.

It’s unbelievable isn’t it? I enjoyed the day, nice little ground, Accrington played well, and were well supported. Shame we didn’t really turn up, but why do we have a vocal minority of ‘fans’ who not only disrespect the town, people and players of the town we are visiting, but also disrespect our own team and players?

Overall, we were outplayed. Accrington were usually on the front foot and forcing the pace. They seemed bigger, more athletic and better organised. Their centre-back Everton-Richards stood out for me, winning most aerial challenges and looking comfortable with the ball. That said, I don't remember many chances for them. More decent City defending, in the main.

We weren't quite as bad as some make out though. I think that impression might come from being clearly second-best, but that isn't to say Jones didn't continue to cause problems or Nazon to show a few tricks. They just seemed to do the wrong thing too often. Overall, we looked disjointed compared to a surprisingly fluid opposition. Kelly-Evans was poor and Stevenson looked out of his depth, which surprised me.

It has been said, but it's hard to see where the goals are going to come from.

Dispiriting.

Coming to think of it, I think these were maybe the same people who caused the trouble at Chesterfield. It's a disgrace the behaviour of our fans, I will tolerate swearing in isolation but if every other word is a swear then it gets tedious very quickly and don't like it.

I thought their club as a whole was great, very friendly and couldn't do enough to help and try to have a laugh with you, on the way out I was stopped a few times by their fans and had a quick convo and they all wished us a safe trip home, etc. Never had it before and was quite surreal but was a nice gesture.

Yep, spot on - a good place to visit, credit to Accrington, the people and the club.

As we walked towards the ground on the Livingstone Road a lady with a dog across the road waved and said hello. Other locals spoke to us in and outside the stadium. These things sound very small but they do make a difference to your perception as to what the place and the local people are like . It seemed as though Accrington as a town was simply very pleased that visitors wanted to come to their humble ground. I'd share a pie and a pint with them any time.

Thought the game was very similar to last week but Accrington were a bit better than Barnet.
Missed Kelly (Stevenson missed a tackle in the run up to the goal which I don't think would have happened if he'd been Kelly).
I'm not sure about Nazon, he's incredibly selfish, think McNulty needs a run up top.
I don't understand the criticism of Biamou, won lots in the air but not gambled on by his team mates. We lost impetus when he went off.
Think Vincenti should be starting, we were a bit lightweight all over yesterday.
No need to panic though, according to many on here we were or are nailed on for the conference next season.

We have too many idiot fans. The beer bottle, the orange, the ridiculous abuse, of all our players but especially the only one or two with any creativity about them, I find dumbfounding. And to top it all off the absolute bell end at the end losing his shit at Jones as he come over to applaud us all. Who are these people? I go to the football for a decent day out, a few (and i mean a few) well-spirited drinks, hopefully to be entertained & if it ends in a win, all the better. Unfortunately Saturday wasn't one of those days, we were fairly poor throughout bar Duck & Jones, but we go again & i'll do the same at Luton. I know every fanbase has them, but I could really do without all the bellends!

I thought it was a poor game between two poor sides, though I guess that's league 2 football for you. Accrington just about deserved the victory as they tactically out did us, credit to them that they restricted us to very few chances. I did enjoy the trip up there and loved the ground, great idea for a beer bus outside the away end and good to see a big sky blue turn out but bloody hell that was a dire atmosphere. Can barely remember hearing more than about 20 people singing all game.

Not surprised to see Accrington's defender Richards-Everton in the EFL team of the week. He had a great game and looked very classy.

That would be the same Richards-Everton who did I close job on Maxime Biamou while he still tried to link up JJ and Nazon

I expect to see him playing at a higher level very soon, looked a excellent prospect.
