I don't remember Pete Waterman trying to buy the club at all, nor that crowdfunding thing, were they big news and I've just become numb to it? I distinctly remember hearing the Manhattan thing had fallen through on whatever day it was in 2007 and thinking we were absolutely fucked.

Cliff notes for those who can't be arsed reading the first 28 pages:

No7 was new to me so clearly I must have given up around page 16.

I did say earlier if this guy was genuinely wishing to buy the club I suspected he may be part of a wider consortia, with the obvious choice being Hoffman and his cronies who had previously some half arsed attempts at deal making the buy the club with the obvious conclusion he lacked cash funds to peak SISU's interest.
So one can leap to the assumption (if any of this is to be believed at the moment) he now has someone who would provide those extra cash funds that will tip negotiations to buy the club from SISU a real possibility.
So think back to Hoffman's last proposals and apply Mr Dales funding to it which will change a lot of the unacceptable areas of Hoffman's proposal last time perhaps a more palatable one for SISU now...depending on how far Hoffman applies it of course.
You will recall Hoffman had previously said WASP were willing to deal with him when SISU had gone.

All this is just pure conjecture on my part as the only way I see any probable truth in any of this.

To all those who are criticising the majority of fans( in effect for pouring cold water on this, as they see it).... nobody wants SISU to stay, but after so many let-downs it is a case of "believe it when you see it". I'm not saying DE/GH are definitely never going to look like serious prospects for being our new owners, it's just that they sure as hell don't right now. Until that changes, I won't believe any of this.

Who was it that said "when the facts change, I change my mind." For now, there are no facts and thus the default setting has to be complete scepticism but with optimism that this impression may be proven wrong.

Agree with All if this except. Hoffman for the first time has said wait till the legal action is over.
My guess is he knows that is when SISU no longer need the club and he will go for the club and form some kind of partnership with Wasps.

With that in mind, wouldn’t it be prudent to keep all options open until we are closer to the end of the season and have a better idea of whether we are likely to need a 15k L1 Promotion-bounce-Party stadium or a 3k Conference SHFWF park bench?

The stadium size we need will be dependant on the owners we have.
If SISU do intend to be here for another 5-10 years. 10k would be enough.
If they intend to move on, then it is likely that it needs to be the Ricoh

Why would the chap from Stratford be a crony of Hoffman's? Crony is a disparaging term. I can understand why some people would have a go at Hoffman due to his previous connections, although I wouldn't agree with them. The guy from Stratford is sponsoring the academy, (surely a good thing) and has season tickets along with his sons. Why would he now be given an abusive term?
Sisu in my eyes and in the eyes of most City fans are the worst owners we have had or are likely to have. Hoffman, a genuine supporter, seen at home and away games wants to take over the club. The sooner the better as far as I am concerned. At least he and his cronies will have the best interests of our club at heart.

I think you’re vastly overestimating the number of fans who will return and what would make them.

Remember something about Waterman being interested. He made his career at the beginning through Cov. Remember him at the Locarno and other venues DJing. I remember him helping Nello out when he changed his restaurant upstairs into a disco/ bistro. He apparently started work at British Rail in Cov. Yes, Hoffman said he is doing nothing until the legals are over. He is head of a major company, has been head of major companies before, knows SISU through being on the board, knows all about CCFC problems, is a city fan, and is therefore the best option we have. If he says wait, then I accept that that is the right thing to do. Even if Dale has come into some money, he obviously has no idea of how to deal with SISU. What is surprising is that he is showing his hand before the game is really under way. I would have thought that he would have kept his finances to himself before talking publically. Seems contrary to poker playing, unless of course it is a huge bluff. But what would he gain if they fell for the bluff? He would still have to come up with real money at the end of the day. Very strange.
