Great to see.
I appreciate its only against non league, but it should set his confidence high.
Let’s hope he becomes that goalscorer we have been missing all season.

Yes good movement and finishes, but no coincidence we created our 2 best chances when we got the ball behind the defence, to the byline in a position for a pull back, rather than trying to cut in and dribble and shoot from 25 yards. Get quality balls in the box and strikers will score.

Took his goals well because he moved into the right places early. That's an instinct...not given to most.
And that's an instinct McNulty doesn't have !

Some strikers will McNulty unfortunately fluffed his lines again. Taking too long to shoot.
As I say fingers crossed Ponti turns out to be the kind of goalscorer who takes these chances.

Did you go today or did you just listen to it on the radio?

Remember if his touch was great he would almost certainly be poached all strikers have flaws but its up to them to work on their weak points but goal scoring is an art and he appears to have that art, he is still learning this is the latest upgrade for his knowledge he has 3 goals for the seniors now but still yet to score in the league and what a brutal league it is to learn in lets hope it toughens him up without spoiling him.
If I was Robins I would ring up some of the great strikers he has played with for a training session or 2 for the lad that would be fantastic for him in his progress

I get your point and agree, except great players don't always make great coaches.

Just a finishing session or 2 with one of the ex greats spending some time asking questions may be really benefitial but I also get your point about not being great coaches but Robins would probably know who would and who wouldnt.
I have always said if Butcher hadnt got rid of Regis Paul Furlong would probably have been a better player at the top level but who knows

Sorry to spoil your fun but I wasn’t at work this weekend so I was able to attend.
Not that listening on the radio, reading match reports and watching extended highlights.
Makes anybody opinion less valid than anyone else’s.

It kind of does. The same as somebody who went to the Yeovil game over the weekend would have a better idea / judgement than I would.

Which lines did McNulty fluff? He finished the cut back from Biamou pretty well.

Glad to hear it.

I would say you only get the proper context of thr match and chances when you watch the whole game, so does give more validity to opinions.

Of course it makes your opinion less valid. It doesn't mean you aren't entitled to an opinion though.

he doesn't look comfortable with his back to goal. Fluffed a couple of easy balls with the defender at his back but his distribution was better when he had the ball played in front of him.
Probably a little in fear of being hacked down, remember he is still a kid and can probably be intimidated by these cloggers

Just spotted this on Ponti's wikipedia page. 4 games, 1 million goals apparently :joyful:

I dunno, I’ve watched matches then watched them on TV and noticed things I didnt see live. Tends to be harder to be rational in the heat of the moment at a game, every touch was a foul, every goal offside.

Obviously we all want people to go to games for the cash and atmosphere, but I’m not sure it produces much better analysis.

He didn’t say tv? He said highlights, which everyone else will have after the game too tbf?
Although as a separate point, people will see what they want to see, eg. Everyone wants Ponti to be the next messiah so everything he does that is good is blown up, and everything that is bad is played down. And before Fatso moans, I’m glad ponti is doing well and long May it continue
