Seemed very straightforward in what he had to say. No issue with CCFC, but wasn't going to get into bed with our current owners any which way.
Don't think the news is that surprising to anyone and slightly weakens our owners if trying to play hardball when negotiating rent with Wasps. That said, despite loathing our owners, I want the best deal possible so that the club/team can benefit.

Was always a non starter IMO. Personally i think this is great news, I'd love to see us commit to the Ricoh in the long term, even as mere tenants. It is a class venue that proclaims to the world that we are a big club in waiting/exile, not another L2 outfit.

My concern is that an end to SISU will be an end to CCFC, something which a lot of people don't seem to take on board

Exactly it was just a negotiating position, like a new stadium.
However people pretended to believe it so they could later accuse SISU of lying, instead of just dismissing it.
Can't see why the CT describe it as "planned"; it never was a credible option

Reads to me like someone at the council has applied some pressure and said they will make life difficult if CCFC are associated with the project.

Certainly wouldn't be the first time that has happened and fits in with the pattern of the council trying to block any move as soon as it was known about and later saying they could help the club if they dropped the legals.

You need have no worries on that score, if SISU go they'll be able to sell to Hoffman's consortium and even if they don't like the price they'll take it.

Its a good conspiracy theory. But Jon Sharp has been clear and consistent; the ground will be developed for the needs, requirement and benefit of Coventry Rugby Club. He is very committed and driven to continue the progress the club has made at developing it revenue streams that have helped stabilise the club financial position. It's people on here who have distorted what he has previously said.
