Have you really just compared Nazon to Messi?
have you really just missed the point even after i put it in brackets?

cant beleive i have to do this but messi is their most skillful player who makes bigges timpact and now jones is out nazon is ours.

Crawley, Stevenage or Accrington type goals - 2 of them are below us, betting money would be ona ccrington to join them by end of season. the best teams can do both and thats what cov have done all season, if you want to remove the magic goals i would disagree

as for biamou im a big fan of him and he does indeed lay on good assits. its possible to back all cov players and not find 1 to hate

steve82- we agree that nazon can improve,my point is hes better than most and doesnt enarly need a thread dedicated to him, unless its a case of admitting hes very good and thus fans want to be harder on him as hes capable of so much more rather than you shouldnt be in the team etc

I cannot speak for whoever started the thread but I think any criticism is warranted on saturdays first half evidence when was selfish just like the previous week he was applauded at Lincoln for a wonderful performance which he soaked up in front of the away fans who showed there appreciation for his performance

Agreed tho exciting player but lots of room to develop and improve

like alot of times in past steve we agree on the fundamentals but still seem to spend a day going back and forth on the minor details lol. wouldnt have it any other way!

i expect the selfishness and encourage it if it leads to wonder goals sometimes as he is not a number 10, he isnt there to be ozil and be assist machine, strikers need some selfihness, but 100% agree if the pass is on and is blatently the better choice he needs to make it(like saturday)

funny old game though, nazon should have passed, ponticelli should have shot late in the game lol.

he doesnt need a thread dedicated to him is my point, hes not worse than other players, in fact hes better

as for haynes quotes its compltley different, i dont make threads about him, i dont go on about him 247 after a match and also........his stats dont prove me wrong like nazons do.

i agreed with the he could put someone clean through thing btw, just dont think it needs anything more than that particular line

but this thread is like barca forum saying messi should pass more(on a MUCH more downgraded level lol) whilst no threads about delfelou running ball out of play every game
So it is ok to slag players off as long as the thread isn't directly about them? Makes perfect sense....

If you love your Nazon stats so much, how many goals has he scored for us from outside the box?

who said i love nazon so much? isnt that the same issue you had with me saying people stick boot in? lol

and those quotes are not slagging off are they? just syaing he didnt have a good game sat, also if you dont think match day emotions are different to any other day of the week i would question if you truly love ccfc

i agree with steve in the main, jsut questioned the need for a thread about it as its not a huge problem as you need a few individual players imo. you seem to be spoiling for a argument though and that is not me anymore, i walked away from that path a long time ago...

There is selfishness and there is being completely blind to players making better runs. It's all well and good if his shot goes top corner, but the stats will tell you how many of those actually happen.

Most games there will be times like on Saturday, which is why we have silly high shot stats compared to the opposition but draw / lose. They will just look up, pick the pass and take the tap in without needing to take players on or score from 30 yards.

Fair enough strikers will take the odd shot and try their luck, but there are a worrying amount of times players make runs and you can see the player with the ball has no intention of thinking of laying it off to put them through.

Ha ha, agreed.

I wouldn't want him to cut of his selfish streak as is in all strikers but in these two chances

I do expect a professional footballer to do the right thing, trying the shot from 20+ yards when a team mates a clear sight isn't it and in the second picture he loses the ball all together.

People are quick to hammer McNulty but some (not you I don't think) need to see that he's putting him self in the right areas where most likely he'd score from one of them chances.

McNulty could be double figures for the season already with the amount of times Nazon has blatantly ignored him when he has been clearly better placed.

but where did i say i loved his stats? i said haynes stats this season dont prove me wrong, if he had loads of assists etc i would be wrong tos ay his crosses suck etc

as for nazon he has 6 goals and 2 assists(off top of my head) cambridge volley and swindon winner have to be classed as wonder goals. not bad? still november too

Yep, I posted the screenshots against FGR when McNulty got hammered to show he was making the runs as nobody spots it as they are watching the player with the ball. There was one where he changed the direction of his run and completely lost his defender and screamed for it but it ended up with a bad shot

agree and if i see nazon individuality become blatant selfishness i will admit it, i just dont see it.......yet at least.

and i do see mcnultys runs as my previous posts prove in older matchthreads so its not a case of watching just the man with ball(not saying that comment was aimed at me btw)

Yup and therefore the only conclusion to be made is that Nazon cost us 2 points on Saturday.
Which cancels out the 2 points he won us with his one goal from outside the box but he still feels entitled to regularly shoot from there with players in better positions. It's a child's mentality to football.

Does it really matter where he scores goals from, outside/inside/tap ins/worldies, as long as he scores.

Look at the reaction here from both Kelly and McNulty, Grimmer has also gone mad at him about it.

I'd much rather this type of goal more often than worldies

He is so annoying. We all know he has skill and strength and is pretty quick too, but sometimes there are better options available and he seemingly just gets the red most before his eyes and doesn't look up. McNulty surely would have scored one of those two chances on Saturday.

Had we gone 1 up I think we would have won easily.

Yep, McNulty in an excellent position for that.

Like you say, too many people focusing just on the player on the ball.

These examples show why Nazon is such a frustrating player.

this one i dont agree with, nazon has crafted a chance and its been blocked, its not like teammates were in view and in gaping space etc

Nazon got played in in the first place. 2 players go to him which opened up plenty of space.

That was probably about the 3rd time that game he had done the same thing which is probably why Kelly and McNulty were like that.

How many times do you here the crowd shout Shoooottttt! anywhere near the box? If you don't try, you don't score. Players should be encouraged to "Have a pop" like South Americans and other European Countries not have that particular talent in players stifled.

covcity4life

the ball is played infront of him, he would have to check back automatically without knowing if mcnulty is in any space to have been in a position to pass.

like i say agree with other examples but not that one

better days

The whole point of the thread is that Nazon doesn't trust some of his team mates
He'll pass to Biamou and JJ before he got injured but other than that he's out for himself
Ridiculous really as he'd be a far better player if he remembered it's a team game

Not when others are clean through and you have a very slim chance of scoring in a game that's 0-0.

Fair enough if we are 2-0 up you can understand it.

i wouldnt say its a trust thing. doubt he has favourites he will pass too and those he wont

he just prefers to do it himself alot more than other players, when you have more skills than others thats what happens in any form or level of the game

Of course it matters. The whole point of this is he keeps trying to repeat his one wonder goal against Swindon and it's to the detriment of the team because he keeps trying it multiple times per match, when his team mates are better placed to score. His conversion rate from outside the box is awful and he is breaking down a lot of our moves with it. For a team that creates relatively little it's an increasingly big issue when we can no longer rely on the counter attack after Jones' injury.

'Sticking the boot in' :emoji_joy:. You've got such a whiney victim mentality - why do you cry every time someone points out something that could be improved in a player? Football fans discussing aspects of a footballer's game on a football forum. Ooh the horror! His assist on Saturday came when we're already 1-0 down. He had two huge opportunities to pass it into acres within 10 minutes on Saturday and then when we go 1-0 up against that dire Crawley team it's game over. But instead we should ignore that and be thankful he made his 2nd assist since the opening game of the season at 1-0 down and one of his pot shots got deflected onto a post.

The whiney victim mentality only usually comes out for two reasons I've found.

1) When the like grabbing/virtue signalling hasn't worked, so he needs to craft another way to get attention.

2) When he has a pop at someone else (expecting others to join in on his side), but all he gets is backlash.

We all know @steve82 's post were reasonable and fair. His attempts to make him look silly have just backfired. I'd say on this occasion therefore, it is probably option number 2 we are looking at!

The keeper would have expected to save that goal vs Cambridge 9 times out of 10 - he got beat at chest height at his near post, so not a wonder goal for me. Was a great piece of control on his thigh though.

yeah was gonna say you cant fault nazons control and smash, but you said it so......i guess we have nothing to argue about.

quick say something else lol

I guess we really don't have anything to argue about if you think a goal from 6 yards out that the keeper should save is a wonder goal.
