Right, we're sixth in the league, but it is beginning to feel like we're in the Conference North relegation zone given some of the comments I've been hearing and seeing recently. So, time to have a bit of fun.

Here's how it works: You're the manager and the board. You decide who comes and goes. Be realistic - not 'I'll sign Messi' or 'SISU won't sign anyone'. Whilst admittedly the truth is closer to the latter, try to find an honest balance true to our current circumstances.

Earlsdon's choices:

In:

2x Striker (1 loan)
2x Winger (1 loan)
1x CM

Out:

Kwame Thomas
Stuart Bevon
Ben Stevenson (loan/sell)
Devon Kelly-Evans (loan)
Maxime Biamou (loan)

Stay Out: Kyel Reid, Jordan Turnbull

The window opens in just over a month. We are lacking in creativity, and the finishing to go with that is not good enough. The back 5 are strong enough, and we have depth/back up there. The strikers have been poor so I would be inclined to twist on some of them, instead of stick. We desperately need another couple of wingers and an attacking CM too, in my opinion.

recall kyel reid for remainder of season if hes willing too, not play him when he hates it here though
get in another pacey winger or 2 if reid loan is not happening
1 centre mid for when doyle or kelly are out

not too sure we need a striker, once we sort out attacking play nazon,biamou,mcnulty,ponticelli all capable of scoring

so yeh 2-3 should sort it for jan window

If it's about being realistic, he is going to struggle to shift people who he has just given new deals to.

If you want to ship contracted players out to release funds then either

You pay them off - so you can't afford to replace them as you're paying twice
or
You loan them out - as this is likely to be a non-league side I can't see that releasing much cash
or
You find a team who wants them more than you do, and who they are prepared to go to

It's not that easy

Exactly, Beavon for example.

I can't see any League One teams coming in who will pick up his wage, League 2 maybe somebody would want him so they would pay his wage and loan him.

If he goes a league lower, they won't be covering his wage and it will more than likely be part time so he still comes back most of the time.

Most players have just signed 2 year deals, it isn't as easy to just ship them out.

Kyle Reid and Jordan Turnbull can stay away.... well away. Kyle Reid isn't the answer to our problems and we'd be better finding a suitable club to palm him of on to again, preferably not a valid promotion candidate tho as he's helped shaft this club once already. Turnbull is on a season loan at Partick so they'd be unlikely to sign him in this window.

Personally I only see 2 saleable assets on current form in Rod Mcdonald and Jordan Willis. Ben Stevenson's value must of dropped to a point it's not worth cashing in this window and hope in 6/12 months his performance levels peak again and we get that benefit.

I'd be more hoping for a bid for Jordan Willis if we're looking to buy to strengthen as I feel he's the only sizeable saleable asset we could lose and have a suitable replacement in Tom Davies ready to step in and the fee would likely be be around 350-500k.

Other than them it's only youth loans I could see going out, maybe the Kelly- Evans twins, Camwell and the loan of Kwame Thomas extended.

I don't predict any other outgoings. The likes of Vincenti, Beavon are only 6 months into 2 year deals.

Reality is that it's gonna be loans to strengthen in this window. I'd be more inclined to switch to a 442 over the winter and use wingers which we'd need getting in on loan and pairing McNulty and Biamou together or Nazon and Biamou. We certainly need a good right footed winger with pace as a minimum this window.

Sadly, I cant imagine some saying the same about beavon, vince & Thomas in the coming months. reid and Turnbull were signed when we were league one. Surely they can cut it in league two ?

Sadly both massively underperformed last season and we're instrumental in our season of demise. Both turned up to play on the big stage and put in a performance which you'd expect any player to but in the bread and butter of clubs season the league they were both poor for large parts. Both likely to be on healthy wage too which is more to the point of wanting them off the books and far away.

Both wanted out during the summer and no secret was made of there desire to leave so they have there wish.

Hopefully keep Nazon till the end of the season.

We need another striker who is proven but we don't have the cash so it might be a premier league youth loan.

We need a player in the JJ mound. Someone with pace and can carry the ball. Again it will probably be a premier league youth loan.

We need a bit more creativity as Andreu was meant to be that link player between midfield and the strikers.

Defence is fine.

I see Biamou as a vital part of our attack over the winter period so he needs including.

What about Ponticelli? Are people writing him off as not the solution after a lot of noise claiming he's gotta start more now preferring a premier league youth loan?

Or people who are not cathing the eye, Stevenson, Beavon etc.

We need to cut the deadwood. Only youngsters should be loaned out for experience not experienced players. If they are not good enough for us then get rid of them if we can.

I disagree in loaning anyone else out beyond the current lot as we don’t have the squad to enable this. Desperate for a winger and an attacking midfielder. These are priority over a striker in my opinion

Not a bad post. Agree that Beavon has to go, you can’t defend a striker that hasn’t scored since February.

Dembele at Grimsby would be a great winger to bring in but judging on Robin’s comments at the SBT that James Collins was too expensive for us in the summer, I dare say he would say that about Dembele too. I would welcome George Thomas back on loan and he needs the game time.

Striker wise, I’m not sure who is proven at this leve that we could bring in. I wasn’t impressed by Danny Rose when he played against us for Mansfield and he’s been linked with us. All he did was dive.

In George Cooper from Crewe his contract has not been signed. We would need to pay compensation.
Would also try and persuade James Jones to come aswell (probably wishful thinking). Also would be compensation. He had championship clubs after him before he was injured in the summer. So unlikely but these two would be my first choice.
Would have also considered Nicky Adams if he hadn’t have got injured last week. For a possible Winger role. With his injury think I would make an enquiry about Harrison Dunk.
Also Bruno Andrade. (We are going to have to deal with his raw pace soon)
I would do a cheeky enquiry with PortVale over Tom Pope. I know he is a fan so probably would not fancy it. However he might be tempted with one last hurrah.
Failing that Danny Rowe deserves a chance.

Out of the above my aim would be to sign one goalscorer and one creative player.

To fund it I would allow the following players to leave

K. Thomas (free or loan)
S. Beavon or Marc McNulty (free or loan)
Reid (Free or extend Loan)
Willis sold for as much as possible.

Turnball loan into free
Haynes if a good offer came in and it meant we could sign a striker and winger I would take it.

Stokes, Hyam, McDonald, Davies
New winger, Doyle, Kelly, Stevenson, DKE,
Shipley, Maycock,

I thought Danny Rose was excellent, tho for us a opposition club he was a nightmare, did the all the stuff that frustrates fans unless he's one of your own. Had all the tricks that L2 players need. Knew when to hold, roll, back in and go down and win free kicks. Good footwork too, a proper menace.

Some good names picked up but we've not much chance I doubt.
Tom Pope - I'm surprised none as picked up on this and hammered you lol. As for me, I'd agree he knows the league and invented half the tricks. Very slow tho but we'd not be using him for that. He won't leave Vale tho, and you'd only take him on a free and use in a 442. I don't see MR having him on his list in this formation.

George Cooper and James Jones are good shouts but would need a fee this window. Jones had a deal fall through to go to Preston last summer and Cooper is well admired.

Danny Rowe is coping well with the rise up the leagues tho is L2 a step up too far again.

Will be interesting the see how Andrade competes against us, to see if he would be worth a punt or if it’s a class above.
Yes cooper and jones would require a fee or compo.
So Willis would need to be sold. Jones is the least likely.
Unfortunately Rowe is that gamble again will they adapt.

Pope is a long shot as he is a vale fan. However that one last chance to play in a promotion winning side and maybe a day out at Wembley?
He could sign till the end of the season and vale would still have him back.

Personally I only see loans coming in this window unless we sell a player and buy a target we've done a lot of homework on or a player who's deemed surplus to requirements at there current club.

Loans seem the likely option.

Looks like he is pointing out that you think Stokes is a good player and he is also a substitute in league 2 as has the Duck been on quite a few occasions.
I don’t want Reid back by the way I was told exactly how he would preform for us by a Bradford fan before he came.
The bloke was spot he also told me Clarke’s legs had gone and that McNulty would run around all day create some stuff but never be the goalscorer that we hoped we have signed

I'm really thinking our owners will be happy with our current league position in relation to revenue streams, only problem is as OSB58 pointed out, it is likely we are losing money again so I think folk may need to be looking at who could possibly recoup a quick £500,000. I did hear that Leeds were looking at Jones but this may have been scuppered now ! I doubt we will spend without selling anyway.
