Missed the point as usual.
The veto doesn’t make a difference to these people.
Yep, still don’t think you understand how the veto works.

Yes, it is amazing.

Almost as amazing as believing there is a welsh commission to the EU. No one is that foolish though.
We’ve been through that. The commission has an office in Wales. He mixed it up. But, you don’t understand what a veto is and that is what we are discussing.
Now the proper you is coming out.If Schultz gets his way... it is take it or leave it. If you don’t like it leave. It is not a veto in that sense, but an invitation to leave because of something you don’t like or want. Where is the problem?

No because it hasn't happened yetYea. The negotiations are basically 1. pay your bills - agreed in principle 2. no hard border in Ireland- Britain has to give way on N.I.. 27 countries against the UK. 3. citizens rights - might win on non EU wives, but otherwise - 27 countries against the UK.
Can anyone point to one provable advantage achieved so far from Brexit?
It is interesting this 27 against the UK. That is largely what it has always been. This indicates the majority win...until you mention the referendum of course27 countries against the uk. What abc interesting way you think.
Is this the same 'established political parties' that seem unwilling STILL to agree a working coalition?I doubt whether the German motor industry is unimpressed with the EU.
All established political parties in Germany want to work with Macron on reforming the EU.
I suspect the peasant farmer in Poland is on the same level as a potato picker in Boston as regards the Irish border problem - despite speaking a different language.
Now the proper you is coming out.
You have a veto. We want ti take your veto away. If you don't like it you can leave the EU. And as you can see the shit we are giving the UK you will k ow you will get even more shit as they are major importers from the EU and we give you money.
Yes I can see what the threat is.

So they are petty egotistical individuals then? Seemingly persecuting a whole nation because of a few people like Farage??? At the moment we are in the EU so shouldn't they demonstrate a real commitment to their UK citizens & composing for the benefit of all?Juncker? Tusk?
Having had wankers like Farage insulting them for years, I think they will not be working to help us.
We have the equivalent of a SISU relationship with them now.

That's because Turkey is the kind of country where there is a big population & is a place where lots of relatively low investment will reap major lining on the powers that be pockets. And yet the EU parliament continually discuss the subject. Seems an odd thing to do, discuss something which can never happen?

Because the EU won't allow us to make trade deals with anyone in the world.Yes. Maybe. Then why isn’t Brexit Britain there making trade deals?
Because the EU won't allow us to make trade deals with anyone in the world.
It is all falling into place. Germany needs the EU. It keeps their currency artificially undervalued as it also takes in poor countries that should have a much lower valuation. The EU needs Germany as they pump in billions more each year than the UK does.
Schulz is the ex president of the European parliament. He still has a big say in what happens in the EU. The EU has had enough of a few countries that stop them from pushing through what they want as all countries must agree.
The German car makers say that they would prefer to lose trade with us that will cost them billions and lose them many thousands of jobs to keep a strong EU. I couldn't work that bit out as a trade deal with us would make them stronger. But now I get it.
Merkel is weak. The EU need Germany to be strong. It would be bad news for the EU to have a weak German government for the next 4 years. Merkel can't make a majority government without Schulz. Merkel has ruled out a re-election. Schulz will only join Merkel if the voting powers of the other EU countries is diminished. If they don't like it they have to leave. And they can see that the EU are acting against what is best for the citizens of the EU with the way they are dealing with us.
So they lose us but get a tight grip on the remaining 26 countries tied up with Germany. Schulz, Juncker and co then get the EU superstate that they have been talking about. They then couldn't stop the EU army from happening. And the one man steering the ship EU enterprise that Juncker has told us about. And they want many more countries to join.
Germany twice failed to take over Europe with war. Now it looks to me as they are taking over through the back door.
Scary years ahead.
The leader of Germany’s Social Democrats has called for EU member states to commit to a “United States of Europe” by 2025, setting out an ambitious European reform agenda as a condition for holding talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel on the formation of a new government. Martin Schulz told a party conference in Berlin on Thursday that he wanted EU member states to agree a new “constitutional treaty” to establish a federal union and that countries that did not sign up would have to leave the bloc. “Such a constitutional treaty has to be written by a convention that includes civil society and the people. This constitutional treaty will then have to be put to the member states and those that don’t approve it will automatically have to leave the EU,” Mr Schulz said.
The emphasis on EU reform marks a recent departure for Mr Schulz, a former president of the European Parliament, who was criticised for failing to address EU issues during the campaign. Rolf Müller, a SPD member from Thuringia who followed Thursday’s speech at the conference, said: “We could have won 7 to 8 per cent more in the election if he had given a speech like that in the summer. He just never talked about Europe.” Elisabeth Humbert-Dorfmüller, another SPD member, suggested the new EU focus could raise the party’s profile: “He set out a vision which we didn’t have before. He also has credibility because he himself is from the EU and he can really drive forward the debate.”
Ah yes it must be crap because it is from the FT
What does that actually mean because on first reading it seems to say everything stays the same as it is now which surely defeats the object of leaving.the UK will maintain full alignment with those rules of the Internal Market and the Customs Union
I quoted the FT.Where do you get the idea that the EU is not acting in the interests of it‘s people? Or that the people are against Schulz‘ ideas? The Express again? The FT has reported what Schulz said and that the SPD believe that they will get more votes by reforming the EU. The opposite to your claim.
I quoted the FT.
So why should the SDP be able to reform the EU just because they have Schulz? And you tell us there is no bias towards Germany. Also, Merkel doesn't want what Schulz wants. Most if not all EU countries would want it either.
And you call the EU democratic :jawdrop:
Yet Germany can push through reform under threat yet Juncker wouldn't even talk to Cameron on concessions.
Not every thing can be vetoed, that was an essential the point of the Lisbon treaty which introduced majority voting on a broad range of issues while retaining a veto on others.I’m thinking you don’t understand how the veto works.

So you disagree with the FT that he still has a big say in what goes on after being the president of the EU parliament?Yes. If Merkel doesn’t want it, Söder from CSU definitely won’t want it, at least some countries in the EU won’t want it, then it won’t get through.
How do you see it? Someone who isn’t in a government or the EU at the moment just has to say something and it becomes law in 27 countries?
Not if Schulz gets his way. And he is well in with Juncker. And we all know what Juncker says he wants.Things like armies are still a veto. So people on here thinking they are going to be conscripted into Juncker’s army are utterly bonkers.

Would you be happy for him to form a government with Merkel?
Conscription, who said that? Was it you talking nonsense again.Things like armies are still a veto. So people on here thinking they are going to be conscripted into Juncker’s army are utterly bonkers.

They want reform. They know they won't get tje backing needed. So they threaten to kick them out of the EU.
Conscription, who said that? Was it you talking nonsense again.
How much would they get charged for leaving after having their vote taken away? No. They can stay if they want to reform. If they don’t want to reform they leave.its a free choice.
