Pope goes up for his header while having both hands in the back of our defender pushing him away, nothing given.

Well today is a first out of the many many away games i've done. Went with the mrs who isn't much of a football fan and who hadn't been keen on the concept of spending Boxing Day at Vale Park. Drove over and she was feeling unwell, we went to the pre match pub and met loads of Cov lads including many that we know. She had to sit down in the super busy pub and couldn't properly socialize with everyone. Walking to the ground in order to get tickets (we hadn't pre bought, for once - fortunately) she couldn't face the prospect of 2.5 hours sitting in the cold and so we packed in the football idea we went back to the car. Fortunately we were staying locally tonight anyway so just meant we were at my mum's 3 hours earlier than planned. Sitting now watching Mary Poppins withba proseco and a ham sandwich. Bit disappointed to miss the game but we wouldn't have enjoyed it anyway with her feeling ill and cold. Will hopefully go to Carlisle instead whilst we're staying here for the next few days. No down side as we hadn't pre paid for tickets.

Merry Christmas everyone and stay warm out there!
Still, the best bet about away games is the pre-match pub socialising and we did plenty of that so in a way got the best of both worlds, especially as had to drive from Lincoln to Cheshire this morning and was thus literally driving within sight of Vale Park / Burslem anyway.

We need to stop hoofing it to Duck and McNulty expecting them to win it in the air.

If we must it should be in the corners or for them to run and try and get onto.

Willis gets back well to tackle and put it out for the corner.

They look more likely to score than us at it stands, although we changed striker nothing else really changed.

And watch us start hoofing crosses into the box now we've taken off Biamou.

Willis gives away a soft corner, hit him on the top of the head when he was trying to leave it to go out for a goal kick.

Starting to think that missing this game at the last minute has turned into something of a blessing in disguise
