You have to pay for most ancestry sites, but there is a reasonable free one if you want to have a quick look, BBR. You just have to register. My dad was born in Northamptonshire. But grew up in Rugby. My mum was born in Coventry and me and my sister were both born at Gulson Hospital, which I hear makes us true Coventrians. Never done a family tree but it sounds interesting. My sister has lived in Leicestershire for over 30 years and she now has an East Midlands accent. Her husband my brother-in-law now supports Leicester rugby team, and says he has no Connection at all with Coventry, even though he was born and raised here. I call him a traitor but he laughs it off !
I'm in the big bank in a couple of weeks PUSB should have given us more tickets!!Being born in Exeter I suppose I could have supported them. I always have looked out for their results. Never thought we'd end up in the same league as them. I'm one of the lucky ones who is old enough to have seen us in the old league one / premier league.
Your Mum's your Dad your Dad's your Mum...................I was born in Leicester and my dad's side of the family a few generations back are from Hull area.
Apart from the premier league win out of nowhere I'm not too jealous
Yeah, well I never questioned it. I was born in Cov, so too, my mum and I always thought my dad was too. Was wrong on my dad though and now tracing my history back I reckon I really should be a Notts County supporter. Generation after generation after generation all from Nottingham.Actually never really thought about why I support Cov before.
Gloucestershire is a bit of a footballing wilderness especially in the 90s. Bar a few Swindon fans my whole school year followed Man U or Liverpool.
Because my Gramp like United I watched them on TV and had the odd shirt as a young kid. I got taken to Forest Green a fair bit but they were really lowly and didn't capture my imagination. Pre season we'd go see big teams play Swindon but again that never stuck.
My dad took to a surprise Premier league game on my birthday, didn't tell me where we were going untill we parked. Turned out to be Cov vs Wimbledon. Brought me a shirt with Huckerby on the back. Loved every second of the day, joining the crowds of people walking up to highfield road, stopping of chips, great crowd noise didnt even matter it was nil nil!
Ended up going up to the next home game against Derby which we actually won. Been hooked ever since and am currently training my 5yr old in everything Sky blue
Very greedy and never passed to anyone and always looking to the bench to be substituted in chilly weather.Ahh but was he a hard worker?
Sounds like me at five-a-side. And we play in a hall.Very greedy and never passed to anyone and always looking to the bench to be substituted in chilly weather.

I know one of my uncles did this ancestry thing about 25 years ago (unfortunately deceased now so I can't ask him), and he said he had traced the one side of my family all the way back to Sherwood Forest in 1066.
