Hypothetical January Transfer Thread (1 Viewer)

Firstly, people have said to cash in on McDonald or Willis - our defence has been our biggest strength this season, for the first time in years, why would we want to break that up? If we need to cash in, make it Stevenson or Shipley.

Secondly, with Biamou, I’m fed up of strikers that ‘work the defenders’ and ‘run the channels’ but can’t fucking score.
Lee Mills, Andy Morrell, Robbie Simpson, Leon McKenzie, Clive Platt, John Stead, Freddie Sears, Marcus Tudgay, Darius Henderson, Stuart Beavon and now Biamou - for the last 10 years we’ve had to put up with ‘hard working strikers’ that can’t score more than 4 goals a season. Enough is enough. Every future striker we sign should have a clause in their contract that says if you haven’t scored 5 goals by January then your contract is torn up. Strikers are there to score goals otherwise you might as well just sling a centre back upfront.

Big fan of Robins and I think he knows he needs to do something with this squad.

In my opinion if your gonna have a real go at promotion this year your gonna need to cash in on the player who's gonna attract the best fee. That's likely Willis who's not bullet proof in L2, he seems the best option to move on to reinvest this January should a bidder come forwards with minimal impact to the side.

I cannot see Stevenson on current form or any other player attract a fee of hopefully 300k-500k.

It's such a difficult window to get in a good player other than a loan that's not gonna require a fee.

It's a needs must to improve by wheeler dealing.

Sorry, but I completely disagree with you...Platt and Henderson could not run the channels!

January could be very interesting and give a indication to how good or bad our turnover is in line with the SCMP FFP ruling clubs have to operate under.

I think every club had to submit its mid season SCMP submission's by the second Friday of December (8th) if we're over or haven't submitted them we could face sanctions, with one possibly a player registration embargo.

Guess we will find out very soon but with gates falling we could well be offloading before any arrive.

This may be one for someone with a greater understanding of the figures to forecast in the meantime.

As well as some other signings, i'd be tempted to bring Lamieres back on a short term deal or loan. Yes, very lightweight but has a bit creativity about him, he can unlock a defence and pick a pass. He's also got a bit of trickery about him and with Jones out is completely different to anything we have in the squad.

Yes, we definitely need a player to drop into the hole where Jones often finds himself, Lameiras could do it

Lameiras is utter utter tripe and will be playing non-league in a years time mark my words. We need to look elsewhere

It is worrying that this January transfer window might be exactly as described ................. hypothetical. To compete for the standard of player required, even for loans, is going to take hard cash and I am guessing that is in short supply at CCFC with little opportunity to improve that.

I hope I am wrong

Lamieres could be a good player but only when the penny finally drops that he has to do extra strength and conditioning work over and above his normal training
He's a typical example of the kid at school who's a got natural ability and can do things his mates couldn't dream of
The problem is he's now a professional footballer so all those around him were also outstanding as youngsters
He's very slight even though he's 23 or so now and needs to toughen up and work on his core strength if he wants to stay in the game

IMO..

I'd show the door to: Thomas, Beavon, Stevenson and Hyam - albeit the latter on loan.

In: x1 CM, x2 Winger and x1 Striker...

I'd like to keep Nazon and I'd recall Kyel Reid..

Ben Stevenson is a tricky one to call, I'd doubt he's many watching him currently from higher clubs like 12 months ago and his value must be at its lowest ever tho he's a nice length to his contract to hope he reignites his career at CCFC to then cash in on.

His career has really gone backwards in just 12 months and he's failed to show much determination to snatch his starting spot back.

Hyam could find himself a regular on the bench again come January depending on how January goes with speculation around Mcdonald and Willis.

Beavon has 18 months left on a deal so would need another club to want his services and a deal between Beavon and CCFC or new employers to strike to cancel his contract here, and Thomas has registration issues to think about before leaving CCFC this season.

We've not many options to move people on really.

If the rumoured shortfall in the budget is true we have a painful window ahead. Anyone worth anything sold to be replaced with free transfers or kids.

We will probably sign a few players on the assumption we are selling a couple in the same month and then find we don’t.

Sisu are supposed to bring financial stability if nothing else but seemingly can’t even deliver that

I am crossing my fingers that anyone who goes are players we want to go and therefore not first choice first teamers.

That for me would include:

Thomas
Hopefully (Turnbull and Reid finally buggering off for good)
Haynes
Stevenson
Beavon
One or both DKE's

Hopefully it's too soon for someone to try and nab Bayliss.

Don't really want to see anyone else leave.

Just wondering if anyone might come in asking about McNulty.

Goalscorers are at a premium and lots of clubs will be looking for a potential 20 goals a season man.

Was wondering this myself, would a league one club chance a January move on a inform striker or a Scottish side looking at promotion to the SPL or survival in the SPL.

I'd say his appeal has improved of late
