Limited Resources compared to what? It's League 2, his resource will be up there still.

He hasn't got the hands tied excuse.

All the people who are quick to chip in with wise cracks are obviously not looking at the big picture, it’s very fragile position so do not come back moaning if we don’t make the playoffs , he has the best resources in this league

What would have it been like without the Chechatrade money?
That was some godsend from a totally rudderlless season.

Football fans are so fickle, ours in particular. A few bad results and everyone calls for the manager's head.

Robins has gone through about 3 cycles of messiah--->sack him immediately already this season.

He's doing fine and we couldn't get anyone better at this level.

Yep. MR has done good. He’s had to overcome injuries in the squad and overcome the negativity of owners interested in anything other than what’s happening on field. It’s a miracle we are where we are let’s hope he can continue to pull the miracle of.

Agreed. Considering the players we're missing we're doing very well.

Still makes me laugh when people think that because we sell more tickets than most in this league Robbins has all the resources he needs like a football club is run on the pitch alone. Some things the budget can’t buy. A decent chairman who doesn’t drain the club every time he opens his mouth, progressive owners who run the club with the clubs best interests at the forefront of everything. Somethings the budget has had to buy but probably shouldn’t have needed to like rebuilding the scouting system AGAIN, repairs to Ryton AGAIN. These are all things that the budget has to endure before you even start talking about the first team and how it performs. This is how teams with a smaller budget can over excel when we come up short. The difference between a good owner and a bad owner can level the playing field. Especially in this league, although Burnley are a good example of this in the premier league, they’d kill for training facilities like many clubs below them in the table have (although they have been investing their premier league money in this) or the playing budget of many of the teams that have come up both with them and since they were last promoted or indeed many clubs still in the league below them. They have that extra ingredient, an environment that creates success. We don’t and you have to compensate for that.

I want him to do well and the pressure should be kept on him
At first I thought you were kidding but then I came to the conclusion that you weren't......why on earth would you want a manager working under pressure with the threat of the sack hanging over his head? When has that EVER worked for us? Don't you consider it would be far better if he were given two "free seasons" and was judged at the end of the third, with a licence to fail in the short-medium term provided that he delivered in the long term.

If we do miss the play-offs, don't tell me you want him out, please......

This team did not start today for one reason or the other. Most of them injured/bench

Obrian
Dion Kelly Evans
R McDonald
Hyam
Haynes
Jodi Jones
Liam Kelly
Stevenson
Vincenti
Andreu
Nazon/Beavon

This team could/would finish top 6 in this league.!!!! That’s our 2nd team.

Look at any successful manager and this will back up my statement. Indeed let’s start at Alex Ferguson who was pressurised to the point he was told if he did not win away at Norwich he was gone by the then owners, who saved him .. oh and . yes Mark Robins with the last goal . Look at what he did .Pressure should be applied in any vocation to get the best you can . If your any good then you will achieve the goals that you have been set , fans of this club accept mediocre to easily. Yes the pressure should be on him to get the best for his team, I give him a B+ so far.

The only evidence that I have seen about the size of the budget was Fisher’s statement about us having the eighth best budget in the division. As I have mentioned before, I am sure that Fisher would want to give the most positive picture he could, no reason for him to say eighth biggest when in fact we have the biggest budget or the second biggest say. On that basis Robin’s has over achieved for most of this season. It’s almost like some people have an agenda to put the owners in the most positive light, “look how well the manager has been supported.” In reality it is probably a case oh here is your budget, get on with it.

Firstly it was Forest not Norwich.

Second....Fergie was appointed in Nov 1986 and the game you mention was Jan 1990, so more than 3 years before things got close to the edge, the same 3 yeasrs i am saying MR should get.

Third.....why does success have to be immediate? You can build a nice looking shack in a few days but come a thunderstorm you won't have a roof. You need proper time to build solid foundations to ensure lasting sucess. We've been failing for years and it'll take years to turn things round but every time we weild the axe we just reset the 'turnaround' clock back to zero.

We have a top 5 budget, there’s no doubt about that in my mind.

1) We have one of the biggest playing squads in the league, top 5 possibly top 3 size of squad easily.
2) Not relying on loans like a lot of the other big clubs like....Exeter and Notts C
3) We have also heard from opposing managers Steve Evans and Sarll (Stevenage) that Coventry blew them out the water with some targets.
4) A lot of of MR signings were from League 1, Doyle, McNulty, Davies, Obrian, Vincenti, McDonald, Andreu/Hyam/Grimmer - championship,
Biamou and Kelly (technically)only ones from Non league.

Most of the clubs at this level do business from lower leagues or rely on loans.

I guess you could not get on wiki quick enough to check but yes I made a mistake it was forest , my bad , it’s not a history lesson but more of an example of how pressure can help

However it proves if it was forest Norwich or who ever else it put the pressure on him to get things moving

I have given him a B+ as yes we in the autos , so the pressure should be kept up on him to achieve , he knows it . He might not walk out on us next time like before .

The apathy displayed by some CCFC supporters is remarkable , we need to get out of the league first time round and then not come back

I see nothing wrong applying pressure , especially now , he should be doing it to the players and we should expect that he can do his best

For the sake of the fans and no other reason .

If we fail to get the playoffs then you will see lots of fans wanting his head immeadiatly , then he will know all about pressure.

We are in a tight pack of teams and the time to get it right is now not next year.

He has got us here hence B+ but it’s also in his hands to cock it up with bad choices , a bit of pressure to remind him won’t hurt

His resources are about 8th best in the league, straight from Fishers mouth from the fans forum, so he was given a budget that isn't even a promotion budget, it's one outside the play offs budget.
The only way he can bring in players is by getting rid too. He's signed 14 players this season, yet let go of 18 this season too, have we ever had a season where we've signed more than we've let go? The squad just get filled with youth, the cheapest way to supplement the numbers.

I'd say his hands are pretty tied, just like his predecessors, because our owners are scum.

Do you have a link to the 8th best budget comment? Not doubting you, just haven't heard that one before.
I remember him making a comment about our budget being mid range league 1, before we were relegated. Can't recall any comments about league 2 though.

No link, I was at the fans forum, seems like Irish Sky Blue heard him say 8th best too. Pretty sure CJ on here live streamed the whole thing on this forum too so plenty would of heard Fisher say it.

Well I know truthfulness and Tim Fisher are odd bedfellows but why he would lie to make Sisu and himself look worse by underplaying their budget I don’t understand.
You have put a very positive spin on the players we have signed. Grimmer, Hyam and Andreu may have come from championship clubs but they weren’t playing in that league. Similarly all of the Portsmouth players had spent the season playing in the fourth division. Most of those players would have needed to take the step to this level in order to continue their careers.
We may have a big squad but there is a huge contingent of academy and home grown players who won’t be on huge wages.
Lastly I am sure managers like Evans are quite happy to deflect from their own teams under performance by pointing out the alleged massive budget that other managers have. Mansfield spent big (relatively speaking) in the summer, hence their billing among the promotion favourites with the bookies. Despite all of their outlay they have yet to trouble the top of the league. I am sure Evans is quite happy to point the finger of blame elsewhere.
The fact that Luton could splash 300k on Collins and that Robins couldn’t compete I think would give a truer picture of his budget. According to Robins at the Trust meeting, he paid no fee for any player in the summer.
Robins seems an honest bloke, I think I would sooner Trust what he says than to go on supposition.

He made that comment when he came to the Q and A session set up by the Trust. It was before relegation was confirmed but he acknowledged we were going down and commented on the budget he expected Robins to have for this year.

People said the same thing when we were in division 3. People were adamant we had a top 6 budget minimum, even higher.
Then it turned out we didn’t.
Owner and how the club is run is very important, no question.
Sacking managers every other season is nuts. You just end up with players that the current manager never signed a new style of play, new priorities ect ect..
You just start again and repeat the cycle.
We need a manager to get 4-5 years to see the fruits of his plan.

Don’t know what you mean by MR overcoming the ‘negativity of our owners’ in this season. We’ve signed 14-15 players this season? Most of which are experienced pros in this division. On top of that, we retained key player and the only key player to leave went to Leicester City.

I don’t think anyone can reasonably disagree that MR has been given the tools to achieve promotion.

No chance his hands are tied, anything less than playoffs and he has failed with the squad he has.

Not saying it's the best in the league, far from it.

Can't really give it the youth line, they are only playing because of injury. Players injured still get paid, can't pretend they aren't there.

It's that thing where Fisher was telling the truth a year ago isn't it? Will ignore other managers that they missed out on our players, ignore the players he has brought in compared to others and just go with Fisher months before the season even started.

You keep saying he paid no fee, there was no mention of that from anybody else and other clubs didn't get the memo as they think there was. Cj would have been on that like a tramp on chips.

Didn't Luton sell a couple of players to get the likes of Collins in?

Nah, we will believe Fisher over the obvious. If robins doesn't have a decent budget then him and widdrington are top negotiatiors aren't they?

We do have academy players, but again they are only really getting a run because of injury. It's a good job we have 4th and 5th choices.

That's not saying anybody has ploughed loads of money in either, it's more that our budget is more suited for league 2 it seems.

Experience tells us if anything Fisher overplays his hand not underplays. Common sense based on this fact alone would tell that you should probably admit that you’re assumptions are wrong. You won’t though because you are you.
