Yep, exactly. We can't just keep expecting to win our home games though. That adds more pressure on us every time we don't pick up any points away.

I agree Otis, it’s very frustrating.
When we had a bad run at home in October /November....before this current win.
It’s as the two outstanding away wins at Luton and Lincoln that kept us ticking along.

London is roght. We beat accrington in front of big crowd and everyone is buzzing again
That said i wont get carried away anymore with home wins. We simply must win more away. When we do that i will be ecastatic
Even as optimistic as i ususaly am i have written off being champions now which is a shamw. But 2nd and 3rd are still there for us

That shows how tough it is and we have already lost 10 games. Only Swindon out of the top sides have lost more than us (11). There's still 16 games to go.
Like I say, we need to improve. We average on losing every 3rd game. That continues we will lose another 5 games, totalling 15 for the season. Only once in the last 12 years has any team gone up automatically losing 15 games.
Of course, like I say, every season is different.
The top 3 at the moment have lost 6, 7 and 6 games. Mansfield have lost just 1 in 16.
As it stands we are not well equipped for a top 3 place.
It needs a definite improvement.
What has changed for me? Every time we have a home win I always thought, right that's it, next week we will win or draw away and it will be the start of the run, but we keep getting beaten. 2 steps forwards , 2 steps back.
And of course we have closed the gap on Notts County. They have been on a poor run.

This stupid FA Cup run has made it seem like we have been on excellent run.
This year there are a lot more teams in it. So quite possibly the points tally may not be as high. 10 to possibly 12 teams have a chance at play offs. A lot of teams will be losing to each other.
This year for example it is possible in remaining games for Us to win 11 and lose 5 and That’s 83 points and would be good enough for 3rd place most seasons place and would mean we have lost 15 games. More than any other season.
I think there will be a lot more losses this year. A lot of top 10 nothing between them. Will lose to each other. Quite possibly.

Maybe I’ve seen Cov too many times but I was concerned about how confident so many fans were as, for me, this had banana skin all over it.
Come on people. We’re Cov. We never make things easy.
I’ll agree that we need to score more and that’s been our problem all season. We’re 7 goals down on what we should have scored I think. That said, our strikers are on better form than earlier in the season so I’m confident enough for the run in.
That we’re in 8th, 4 points off 10th place and 4 points off automatic promotion is OK for me based on how I thought this season might pan out. 6 points out of every 9 should see us through.

If only it WAS one loss and the sky is falling.
It's a pattern and with each break of a winning sequence it becomes more frustrating.
Going back through the season:
We won against Port Vale and Carlisle and spirits were high and we were very confident then going into Cambridge away. We lost.
We then beat Swindon and Crewe, so again spirits and belief high. We then drew against Barnet, but lost at Accrington.
We then beat Luton away, followed that up with a win against Maidenhead in the FA Cup and then West Brom in the Checkatrade. Great belief going into the Mansfield game (they had no wins in 6), but we lost.
We then beat Lincoln away, drew against Stevenage and Crawley and went into the Morecambe highly confident. We were awful and lost 2-0.
We then beat Cheltenham and Wycombe, so again great belief going into the Christmas period, but then lost at Port Vale on Boxing Day.
We then beat Carlisle away and Chesterfield and then won against Stoke in the cup, so spirits soaring, but then lost at Exeter.
We then beat Swindon and MK Don's in the cup and then Cambridge and once again belief was palpable, but then of course we lost to Forest Green.
Would love it if it were just one game, but it's not. It's a pattern and every time our hopes are raised they are quickly dashed again and I can't just buy the 'this is Coventry City though and that's what we do.' We are now in League Two and in a division we can clearly compete in.
The fact we haven't been lower than 10th place all season shows that.
There is absolutely no excuse for the losses at Morecambe and Forest Green and Cambridge etc.
I so wish it was just one game. I would be dusting myself down this morning and be all excited again for next week. Instead, I am sitting here shaking my head.
We have to put a run together. It is that simple. We need a 6 or 7 game unbeaten run.

We simply cannot rely on our home form. We can't expect to win every home match.

Robins taking lesser clubs for granted and getting bitten and not working a decent formation

Injury to essential players
We all know it , if we don’t go up you can wave goodbye to the decent players like McNulty
Let’s get out of this league please

Luckily, I am none of the above.
Definitely some who overreact.
I don't do away games, but so many have been saying we should set oursevles up differently away from home and it's too cautious, but I do think we shouldn't just dismiss the manager's choices and selections out of hand, because we don't see what is going on, on the training ground and on many occasions are probably not aware of players with niggling little injuries or knocks. Don't think we can just say Robins was wrong not to play Shipley yesterday for instance, because it could be that he just wasn't quite 100% fit and he had definitely been suffering with tiredness and lethargy lately.

And that's is why he brought players in in January, to give more options. But it will take 3 or 4 games for things to come together. We are still in touch that is the main thing. Easter and afterwards is where teams cement promotion.

Yeah, 5 points behind doesn't appear that bad when you just look at it in isolation, but after Tuesday we were just 1 point behind behind 3rd and 2 points behind 2nd and now we are 5 points behind 2nd and 4 points behind 3rd.
Just shows how a single defeat changes things and the problem yesterday was that this was Forest Green, who in 13 games against top 6 sides have only won twice.
Both against us.
An improvement is clearly needed.

We are talking about the league.
I’m convinced we won’t reach the play offs even more than ever after yesterday. In fact if Robins continues with this Doyle/Kelly partnership I’ll say we will finish half way. We’re simply good enough but we handicap ourselves all the time. We don’t score enough goals as a team and we have a mental weakness away from home. If we got into the play offs I guarantee the away fixture would trip us up.
The injury situation is an utter joke as well and I wonder if it’s more than just bad luck.

1 how many of their 10 played yesterday?
2. It doesn't matter what happened yesterday, the end of season decides promotion.
3 If we don't get promotion, or, even a play off place it won't necessarily mean progress hasn't been made...but fans won't see it!!
When I was a senior manager end of year results meant a lot, monthly results were interesting; weekly and daily results less so, almost a distraction.
Basically you can over analyse things and get too hung up on blips
Solution: keep faith in your core tasks and philosophy, keep your eye and belief on the long term goal horizon.

Yes and a single win last game can get you promotion. Don't analyse every result. Stay in touch. If you can pull away fantastic; but even then teams tumble. So stay in touch and Sprint a way in last three games, that's the time to find a run.
