Robins 10, changed formation superbly, good substations.
Agree with most of that although think 9 for Shipley too high. Burges kicking (apart from first one) was much improved too.Burge 8...superb save first half, but collected ball brilliantly. Commanded his area for a change
Grimmer 7
McDonald 9
Willis n/a
Haynes 8,,,,,almost won it for us. But for a great save.
Doyle 8
Bayliss 7
Shipley 9
Kelly n/a but started very brightly.
JCH 8
McNulty 6 didn’t look himself , didn’t hold the ball up as well as he can.
JP 7
Hyam 7
Biamou 6

Shipley was motm for me (apart from a couple rubbish corners)Agree with most of that although think 9 for Shipley too high. Burges kicking (apart from first one) was much improved too.
Rose definitely played for it and went down easily but I think Willis puts an arm around him as he catches his heels (IF he catches his heels) and I thought that was the damning part. I did only watch it back a couple of times though and have had a drink or two since so it's probably not a reliable witness statement![QUOTE="Esoterica, post: 1488188, member: 6511".
Willis 3 - Completely unnecessary challenge that should have cost us the game.

Need to see it again, but I don't think Willis could do much once Rose got in front of him. Rose deliberately cut across Willis to make sure he was caught by him although I notice on the Mansfield forum someone posted that Rose was indicating to his bench that he wasn't actually touched by Willis, which might also explain Robins anger at Rose.

It was definately a 50/50, contact was minimal if any. But it was clever play from him. He knew he had to touch it and then just waited for contact. His touch was heavy and Burge was in decent position to collect the ball.
But I suppose if your the last man. He’s gotta go, it was just unfortunate.
No such thing as last man-been listening to too many pundits on the box.It was definately a 50/50, contact was minimal if any. But it was clever play from him. He knew he had to touch it and then just waited for contact. His touch was heavy and Burge was in decent position to collect the ball.

Willis grabs him round the waist.Comments on Willis seem harsh to me. I went yesterday and my first opinion of it was that it was almost an unavoidable tangle as Willis was running after the ball. I think the ref has to give a red but not sure there was anything Willis could do about it. He doesn’t actually go to tackle him, Rose just almost runs into Willis’ path and goes down.
Nice comments well said and well done to those involvedDecent score for the police and stewarding too. Had cause to have been more heavy handed a few times but policed it with smiles and diffused a couple of things, nice to see them join in the aplause for the two young boys.
Burge: 6 - Made a couple of really sound saves in the second half. However, most of the game he was all over the place. Kicking was shocking.
Because he's scoring Burge and not Bourge? So your not a Bourge fan. Everyone else rates a good performance?? Any reason??
He might not rate Bourge but he is pro Letariat.Because he's scoring Burge and not Bourge?
Burge had a hood game
Shipley was nothing special.
Yeah i heard that. Missed the sending off instance so need watch highlightsBurge could have beat the forward to the ball rather than leave Willis to deal with it.
He just can't judge distance on the long ball into our half.
That forward ran 35 yards he only needed to go 15 yards.
Not going to absolve him but he did it at Lincoln the other week and it ended badly.Burge could have beat the forward to the ball rather than leave Willis to deal with it.

Think that was Exeter. Not going to absolve him but he did it at Lincoln the other week and it ended badly.
There was an element of doubt asThink that was Exeter.
I’m one of Burges biggest critics. But he was very good. Can remember three decent saves. But most pleasing was his handling/catching the ball. And he actually commanded his whole penalty area which was really pleasing to see.So your not a Bourge fan. Everyone else rates a good performance?? Any reason??
