Player Ratings v Wycombe (2 Viewers)

I wasn't there. Only concern I have was in hearing a phone-in caller after the game and according to him we only had the one shot on target all game, the penalty.

Is that correct?
Yes, we had nothing going forward all game apart from that. Can't complain as we got the 3 points but worrying going into the next games if we can't score without a penalty / defensive mistake.

It was lucky, I'll take it though :)

We don't win as many games and look lost in midfield when Doyle doesn't play, need him fit more than most or the rest of the year if we are to make the play off's and promotion.

Carefull mate too many on here won't like you rating a team that started with Doyle and Kelly in middle and bayliss on the right. They better managers than Robins.lmfao.
Woah woah woah woah. Swearing I can deal with: It's Cov innit, we survived the blitz so what's a few c-bombs after that? Gloating after a single victory: dangerous with so many games to play but ultimately your choice. Telling your fellow fans to fuck off: making a bed that you'll have to lie in.

However, I implore you, from one grown adult to another, father to father, one whisky drinker to another - the occasional 'lol', while not recommended, can have a blind eye turned to it but please please show some respect to your fellow posters and never EVER use 'lmfao' again! :)

Some were better/worse than others, not a brilliant performance, but as a TEAM I'll give them all 10, they battled, did their best and didn't give up. A lack of skill is forgiving, a lack of effort is criminal.

Rod McDonald - MOTM for me, solid and composed.

I also thought Kelly was the pick of the midfielders, thought he had a very good game.

Fans: 10 - Possibly the best following I have seen from Coventry fans. Game only confirmed 11 days previous and in those horrible conditions. Phenomenal support.

No sorry-they lose a point for singing E I E I E I O. Still far too early for that cobblers. I might join in with it mid-April.

First trip to Wycombe (despite being at uni there in the mid-90s - I didn't want to watch div 4 standard football then...lol) and as many have noted, it really wasn't a very good game. TBF Robins' tactics were spot on; you need to defend the second ball v Akinfenwa as much as the first and with Kelly/Doyle, we did that very well. And as such Rod and Hyam joint MOTM.

Sparky and JCH put in the mileage by pressing their defence to prevent easy ball into the Beast, but meant the gap between DM and ATT was too great. This allied with Wycombe not risking much after shipping 4 at home last game, meant not a lot to warm the cockles.

I thought Wycombe started playing for the draw very early on; near the start of the 2nd half their keeper retrieved the ball in the corner for a throw-in to them and then gave it to a defender in the penalty area who then had to kick it to the throw-in taker, v odd. But it wasn't until Reid came on that we figured the game was there for the taking. Not sure he's a starter yet though.

Aside from a couple of nervy back-pass clearances, Burge's decision making was spot on, Haynes has improved from when I last saw him. Shipley disappointed, but seemed to be complaining of an injury when subbed. Bayliss out of position seemed to need space either side of him to feel comfortable.

Having not played in -10 since cubs (when I cried), can't really fault either the players or us fans.
