First trip to Wycombe (despite being at uni there in the mid-90s - I didn't want to watch div 4 standard football then...lol) and as many have noted, it really wasn't a very good game. TBF Robins' tactics were spot on; you need to defend the second ball v Akinfenwa as much as the first and with Kelly/Doyle, we did that very well. And as such Rod and Hyam joint MOTM.
Sparky and JCH put in the mileage by pressing their defence to prevent easy ball into the Beast, but meant the gap between DM and ATT was too great. This allied with Wycombe not risking much after shipping 4 at home last game, meant not a lot to warm the cockles.
I thought Wycombe started playing for the draw very early on; near the start of the 2nd half their keeper retrieved the ball in the corner for a throw-in to them and then gave it to a defender in the penalty area who then had to kick it to the throw-in taker, v odd. But it wasn't until Reid came on that we figured the game was there for the taking. Not sure he's a starter yet though.
Aside from a couple of nervy back-pass clearances, Burge's decision making was spot on, Haynes has improved from when I last saw him. Shipley disappointed, but seemed to be complaining of an injury when subbed. Bayliss out of position seemed to need space either side of him to feel comfortable.
Having not played in -10 since cubs (when I cried), can't really fault either the players or us fans.
