Which one?
Both are shit holes.
Worst of all are The Bellend Gang. Not surprising really with all gangs / bellends.
Missus had to work.Just a quick question Otis....... why on earth are you up at silly O'clock on a Bank Holiday? Don't you enjoy lie-ins? :emoji_thinking:
Indeed not.Corbyns fault!
Serious, I love both cities and feel safe in them, (except for the time I accidentally wandered into Bedford–Stuyvesant), but that's been gentrified now.
Though as a tourist I'd imagine you don't really wander in to the areas where these incidents are happening.
Crime in general is rocketing in the UK, nothing to do with police cuts though apparently.

There are a few reasons why the crime rate is skyrocketing which include police cuts and the importing of third world cultures.
that's why New Yorks murders are dropping, they have no immigrants FFS!!
That's a really over the top reaction to my post.
As I said, police numbers don't help things, but neither does opening the doors to everyone and anyone. You import third world migrants, you don't get a better first world, you get a bunch of poor cultures adding to the crime problems more frequently.
but New York is as much an immigrant city as London and their crime is reducing so that doesn't stack up.
Then you get somewhere like Glasgow whose fairly appalling violent crime figures have reduced as it has become more diverse, I don't think there is a correlation there either.
Foreigners 'commit fifth of crime in London'but New York is as much an immigrant city as London and their crime is reducing so that doesn't stack up.

Yes the cuts have made it worse. Only a fool would try to disagree. Tony where are youI'm not saying they don't commit crime but are they responsible for an increase?
The immigrant population has been increasing in London as crime has gone down in recent years. This increase coincides with cuts to the police.
The immigrant population has been increasing in New York but crime has gone down. I would bet they haven't cut their police budget though I don't know that.
I'm sure it's a bit more complicated than anyone factor but I think police cuts are a massive part of it and the Police chiefs tried telling May this when she started going down this route as home secretary.
Yes the cuts have made it worse. Only a fool would try to disagree. Tony where are you
But gang crime has got worse. Different sections of the communities work togethwr trying to take over drug patches. A stabbing leads to more stabbings. A shooting leads to more shootings. There is a lack of respect. It has all got out of hand. And at best it hasn't kept the situation similar as before.
I wouldn't even bring my kids up in a city now.i don't think the London murder rate has increased too much where as New Yorks has fallen sharply but in London now there does seem to be a proliferation of a certain type of murder related to young gang members.
I wouldn't want to be bring my kids up in that environment.
I wouldn't even bring my kids up in a city now.
I rarely lock my cars. Can't remember the last time I locked my front door....although one of my dogs would have you if not invited in. And he will still watch you all the time if he doesn't know you well. We have a proper community. My young kids can play out without worrying about them.
I loved my upbringing in Coventry. But when you see a place on the other end of the scale you appreciate it.
Bit I live in a built up area. I am on the doorstep of a beach over 13 miles long. We have most big shops closer than most people in a big City are. And you have to drive within feet of Windermere to get here. The schools are within walking distance. My 8 and 9 year olds walk by themselves to school. The missus would love to try it but me and the kids are proper City dwellers.
The 2 left at home would flip if we tried to take them to the sticks but they won't be at home a lot longer so I reckon it's something we'll try one day.
When I was a kid you would get glue bags stick to your feet. There was always scrapes to get into. We're looking to move out of the city to be honest.
England just isn't the same anymore in general though. It's hard to compare against your own childhood but things feel very different. When we have kids I want it to be somewhere nice for them.
But a lot will have been innocentThe percentage of those murdered that are from ethnic minority backgrounds is frightening.
Look at the names and faces in this link (sorry about using The Sun as a reference)
London's murder epidemic — the 49 killed in the capital so far in 2018
Surely this gives clues to the socioeconomic/cultural issues at play here.
I'm not throwing stones here. Just stating facts. I don't doubt that there are a number of innocents involved but the fact that they are in the wrong place at the wrong time also tells its own story. But a lot will have been innocent
Look back in this thread. I have already stated the same.I'm not throwing stones here. Just stating facts. I don't doubt that there are a number of innocents involved but the fact that they are in the wrong place at the wrong time also tells its own story.
Poorer areas of London are heavily populated with ethnic minorities. Unless these people get more opportunities to break the poverty cycle, crime and violence will always be attractive.
People are scared of stating certain facts incase they get called racist.

But it was fun. During school holidays out at light in at dark. Play football all day. Feed yourself. Have fun.
And yes grew up in all the select areas in Coventry
