On the subject of smokers would it be beyond ACL to put a some ashtrays out (the type you get in pub smoking areas). Got to be better than hundreds of cig butts on the floor.

The people standing in the Isle in block 17 were at the top about 20 or 30 of them stewards did try to move them but they were having none of it.
The fighting was down the front in the second half.
As for the incident I was in the smoking area (although I dont smoke anymore) and saw nothing unless it was another smoking area on the other side of the ground.

there's been about 3 incidents in that same spot down the front this season. Not sure what the issue is down there.

Don't understand why people don't move if they don't get on.
Then again they maybe friends who just keep disagreeing on things?

Is this kids or ‘grown-ups’? I can honestly say I’ve never really seen any bother amongst our own fans in all the years I’ve been going up.
Tbh I’ve not seen much between cov and other fans either.

Strange. Despite never really seeing any trouble I sense from opinion on here things are starting to get worse on that front.
I’ve always felt that cov residents, are quite, how do I word this, ‘robust’. And that this has never really been replicated at games. Unlike the city itself (I gather from speaking to non coventrians), city fans don’t appear to have any sort of reputation like millwall, Pompey et al.
The ones I’ve noticed making all the noise appear to be teenagers as opposed to some sort of serious ‘firm’. Is this changing do we think?

Grown men, at least half a dozen times this season fighting amongst themselves and also with those around them, if its not a fight they are having an argument with someone.

A mixture but surprisingly they tend to be older, fifties, sixties in some cases. I've not really seen any problems until this season.

Didn't see what happened at half time with the smokers but after the game there were pockets of trouble. One incident a copper was chasing a fan the lad broke away and the copper
went flat on his face,to a huge cheer from those watching don't think he was amused went for a group of young fans shouting so you think that's funny
I remember “muddy” waters was our copper few years ago. He chased a Leicester scum bag across thf pitch at high field Rd, he jumped into the west end, copper followed hit wall and fell. Everyone cheered, he got up run off. Few years later I met him, he said he hit the wall but couldn’t face the abuse so got up ran aroundback of the stand. And collapsed in pain. Game was 0/0...most exciting thing!!

Coventry has always been a tough City to be fair and the hooligan element is always there, although with most of these cases I don’t think we are talking about so called ‘firm’ etc. Anybody that follows the various Away day pages etc will see pictures of the Legion get together etc a few times a season.

I was referring to the semi specifics of grown up city fans fighting amongst themselves......

I wasnt discussing organised football violence ...although if a bunch of lads wanna wear matching knitwear and get all shouty while skipping down the street like an albertross attempting takeoff...... social media is probably a best place to do it.

Somebody who sits down there told me it's brothers fighting eachother, if so unbelievable. As for the lads in the aisle between 16 and 17 they sent a lady steward up there who could hardly make it up the stairs bless her. She came back down in that one step at a time way while holding onto the back of people's seats as she went. What did anyone expect her to achieve apart from maybe collapsing in a heap.

The only trouble I’ve experienced this season was Notts County away at one of the riverside bars; it all kicked off between the police and some lads who couldn’t handle their drink. Glasses thrown as well as punches. The only other one that I can remember apart from that was the Stoke game where the police escorted their yobs to ours and walked back to their vans whilst it all kicked off:facepalm:

The guy next to me at Exeter fell asleep about 5 minutes in and woke up on the final whistle. Lucky bastard.
