Footballers have awful taste in music & I would hate to be stuck on a coach listening to their crap selection. This isn't a particularly generational comment either as I remember back in the 80's in the Shoot magazine Q& A's that favourite music act would inevitably be boring dross like Phil Collins. The only footballers I can remember venturing a bit further from the mundane were Pat Nevin and Stuart Pearce, although I got a feeling Tim Sherwood was into System of a Down,& Papa Roach, which I can't see would have gone down to well with your typical footballer.

It was in fact number one on that very day

At half time people were a bit down and edgy, come all this way and losing- then
they played this and loads of people
ended up singing along and there was a strange, intangible feeling that we were gonna win, the rest as they say...

I’ve loved this ever since (not musically!) and for the few hundred behind the goal near me as well as myself, it will always remind us of half time, Wembley, May 16th 1987

I remember this being played at half time against Leeds in the semi final, just been listening to it now, brings back great memories of that era and being a 15 year old

'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now' by Starship.
That was the song that seemed to inspire the whole of Coventry in May 1987.
I can remember on Central News the night before the cup final Greavsie predicted us to get smashed and they played this to clips of the previous rounds, what memories, that's why both my youngsters are coming with me on Monday to make there own grest memories.

It’s amazing how that song is associated with that cup win, every time I hear it, it transports me back to the semis and final.

I've sent in to the request show on Planet Rock Thunderstruck by ACDC as my choice. I said it was for all us Cov fans going to Wembley. If chosen it'll be played between now and 6.pm.

In most sports these days players like to listen to music before big games to calm them or get them hyped up etc. Which got me thinking what track I'd listen to just before the kick off ? For me I'd want a good rock track blasting out so I'd go for Whole Lotta Rosie by ACDC, as it is lively and gets the blood pumping. So what song would you choose ?
Shoot to Thrill by AC/DC wouldn't be a bad shout.
