We need younger version of Michael Doyle, don’t ask me who. When Doyle doesn’t play or even when he has an offish game we ain’t the same, at 36/37 not writing him off but one longish term injury could cost us. He was our most consistent performer last season, first name on the team sheet.

We've got Michael Doyle
Doyle in the middle

Doesn't work for me (not sure where he plays!)

I’d agree with that. A younger, more mobile version. Maybe kelly can step into that role?

He’s joined Peterborough

No bother - hopefully that Chelsea lad (if we sign him) will be the answer on the right hand side, and hopefully JJ will come back as good as new. We have some decent options, a new found optimism, and positivity around the place. Looking forward to next season already (although my wife is worryingly laid back about me watching so much of the World Cup - I'm getting suspicious!)

I may be wrong but I thought Bouwe Bosma was signed as backup and to eventually step into the midfield holding role.

which is silly talk for a league 2 player, no way they'll get that.
I reckon they might
Given his age ,potential for development .
A
Le Fondre went for half quite a few years ago while older I think.
Andre Gray Ultimately earned Luton around £1.5M although admittedly not up front .
You never know though Eisa may suffer from second season syndrome .

He was signed for the U23s, so I doubt he’ll see much first team football this season. Same with Westbrook.

We need a central midfielder who can start now if need be, as Doyle is getting older in a higher division. As much as I like him and Kelly and they were instrumental in our season, if the goal is promotion from L1, we need more depth, and frankly, better quality in that area.

We were allegedly in for the Lincoln CM who went to Peterborough, which suggests we’re in the market for a CM.

That’s what I thought.

Don't think so
This is a bit of a mystery
No doubt we'll see as the pre season develops

I hope you’re right but I reckon he’s ‘one for the future’.

Don't recognise any of the names mentioned as being players we have been interested in apart from Dujon Sterling
He's actually played for Chelsea's first team twice and was player of the tournament when England won the U19 World cup
Can't see Dembele being a possibility unless Grimsby are desperate for money and no big clubs are in for him
That type of young player commands a big fee even if bought by a big club to 'Stockpile'

I notice on a few posts Better Days you seem like you may have a decent source of info. You think Robins may see any funds to spend on someone for a half decent fee? Also you think there is any truth we have offered Agogo deal?... And you expecting any other possible loans from Chelsea along with Sterling?

I haven't heard anything about Ogogo
Not sure about funds for transfers but I suspect Robins would prefer a bigger budget for wages and bonuses
That's what's needed to get the best experienced players at L1 level to give the team the steel to support the talented youngsters
Very good possibility with Chelsea
They had Lewis Baker and Kasey Palmer on loan at Championship clubs last year
It was a wasted season as they hardly played
Robins and Viveash have trusted young players so this will be a big selling point for us

He has been offered a very good contract here but his agent knows of strong interest from clubs in higher leagues. Now unlikely to happen.

Fair play, i read Rangers, Celtic, Sunderland and Villa had gone in for him. Guess that would be a coup if we got him.

The signing on fee we’ve offered is staggering (for what I thought we’d offer a player) but I know we’ll be well down the pecking order and he does what to ideally head back to London (Charlton were faves but their delayed takeover and no manager may have put an end to them or maybe why he’s still not signed anywhere)

Rumours will begin to intensify as July approaches which is when players return from their hols to their various clubs for pre-season training, big kick-off only just over 5 weeks away.
Robins tends to move quiet and efficiently in getting players in, he had to sign a ruck of players last season and I only remember one, Michael Doyle being rumoured who actually signed. As for Ogogo, maybe but I see it just as an obvious rumour to be honest, once mate Junior Brown signed.

I’m not one of these to make stuff up and I have never been in the know until this deal but the Ogogo one I back 100% from what I’ve been told we have offered him a deal but unfortunately we are one of many, I’m sure others will offer more per week but our selling point of the deal is a decent signing on fee.
