I worry about Dier, prone to the odd mistake. But the last time I said that he scored a winning penalty so....

It's a bit weird
tbf this time it makes a bit more sense - playing in the same position, making sure Henderson doesn't get booked so we get subjected to a full game of Dier in a semi final.

Am I missing something with the commentator and trippiers free kicks? He's hit the first man about four times and they are waxing lyrical

Sweden were pretty awful I thought and yet Pickford still needed to make a couple of world class saves. Today England just took that in their stride.

I was surprised at what poor opposition Sweden presented. I expected a lot more from them.
In the end it was comfortable for England as Sweden just seemed incapable of upping their game.
Pickford made a couple of important saves and looks very solid in goal.
Not impressed by Kane or Sterling but they did their jobs. Did Kane have one shot on goal?
Will be interesting to see who our SF opponents are. We should be capable of beating either.

England in a different class there
They were, Sweden weren't great though.

Got to say, after we squeeked past Colombia, coming second in the group pays off. Not scared of either Russia or Croatia, would be very worried against either Belgium or France. One-off game becomes anybody's, though, and they'll have had a tough semi-final just to get there.

(Of course we'll lose our semi final now!)

We played well today, deserved the win and unlike the Columbia game went for the second goal. They're learning quickly but how far can they go ?
