I thought we played well in the second half and showed we have got a threat going forward. We still need someone to replace McNulty however. Nit picking maybe but I thought all three defenders, McDonald, Hyam and OBrien should have done better with their third goal.

Was surprised to hear Crainies name being read out on the tannoy when the line-ups were being announced...didn't know they'd signed him
For what it's worth,2nd half was so much better than the 1st (Allasani seemed to gain confidence after his goal plus Bennett looked so much better than Brown too...going forward at least)
i really don't care about the result to be honest,although it's obvious from seeing them today that we do need a striker in but I'm nowhere near worried

Robins could do with spending more time trying to sign some players that aren't full backs or central midfielders to be honest.

Our strike force and goalkeeper situation are far from ideal. Making a scapegoat of the kids is hardly fair.

He obviously feels some aren't putting in the effort and are coasting. Age has nothing to do with it. If you are in the first team set up then there has to be certain standards. He is right to define where the bar is.

Agree we need another striker. But judging Max with DKE, Vincenti and Shipley in behind is a bit unfair, judge him with Andreu Allassani and Bayliss providing him.

I never said it wasn't important. What I'm saying is that the manager will be having a lot more of these 'effort conversations' if we don't get some adequate strikers in.

The first is that they simply cannot be bothered, be it due to the manager (Thorn etc) or due to it being a friendly that doesn't matter (surely with one week to go they should be fighting for a start in the team). The other is when you play as part of a team where you don't believe you can win. Players then give up and their heads drop.

A lot of our fans are expecting big things this season, and our squad in most areas is good enough to match that. The whole ignorance about not replacing McNulty and getting on the case of anyone who raises this as an issue is pretty stupid to be honest though. It is a massive weakness. The season starts in six days, McNulty was sold a month ago. Just because Robins has been amazing up until now doesn't mean we cannot rightly speak out when we are in the position that we are in. There is no excuse for it.

We won’t know how great it is until we see the new signings. Vincenti was considered a great signing last season.

It dosnt matter where you play him, if you aren’t prepared to do the basics, like run around a bit, and put the odd tackle in, then you havnt earnt the right to get the shirt!
You can’t question his talent in front of goal, but it’s a team game, and 100% effort is expected, wherever you play.

I agree. Robins has definitely slipped up here. He's relying on variables which is a dangerous game to play in the unpredictable sub-universe that is football. Dare I say it but IMO I'd go as far to say he's been incredibly naive in the Chaplin scenario. Regardless of what or what not has been said in the press by who, both parties have handled the situation horribly.

For starters I've never said I'm a manager. Secondly I don't understand why you're getting so defensive. And thirdly, just because I'm not currently employed by a football club does not automatically make my opinion void. But for the sake of answering your question, I would've probably targeted a player that wasn't being held prisoner by their own club.

Agree but in terms of planning we .ca t call it disastrous. Scouting could end up being but time wise we have got business done.

Also last season we got promoted so if we have 1 did this year but do same I would call it another success
