Well I didn't expect that 2nd highest shots stat. Imagine how good we'll be when we aim them at the goal!

Edit: just checked and we're 20th for number (not percentage) of shots on target, at 3.67 per game. We average 14.5 shots per game, so 25%.

Edit2: Barnsley average 19.33 shots per game, the highest, with 7.67 on target (40%)

Edit3: We are 24th in the disciplinary table (which means we have the best discipline) with only 2 cards. Maybe we need to get a little nastier.

Maybe the club will employ Nick as a specialist 'nastiness' coach. Plenty of "snapping in half" guaranteed then!

Rule 1. Get up and walk away after snapping them, don't ever check they are OK.
Rule 2. Even if they have a broken leg, gesture to the ref that they dived whilst shaking your head.
Rule 3. If any of their players say anything, have a word with your team mates asking you to put the ball about 10 yards from them every time so that it invites them to go for the 50/50.
Rule 4. If winning, always tell the opposition not to worry and that you will get the ball. Run over to it but then run straight past it and back to your position. Gesture to your ear that you can't hear them if they moan.

The worst bloke I ever played against in Sunday league was a right nasty old bastard. Was about 35-40 and could tell he was decent in his day, still had the touch.

Everytime there was a set piece and there was a challenge he would be pinching you under the armpit, jabs in the bollocks and all sorts. He would just watch for the ref to look away and do whatever to try and put you off.

Thats what we need.

An elbow to the thrapple might have discouraged him.

That's basically what Doyle does but he hasn't got the legs for it in L1. Need him to mentor Agogo in the dark arts before he hangs up his boots

That’s the modern era for you tho, that mentality isn’t installed or passed on it’s discouraged by the majority of managers unless that was part of there teams playing style or from a non league background or specifically developed as part of that players game.

Academy players don’t generally play that way and in our case the majority of the squad are still young and have that career path into 1st team football.

You get a few academy players that have fallen out the leagues and played a few seasons in the national league north/south or lower and come back into the upper levels of football that developed the art for getting a few extra percent on there opponents or as a way of survival. Also in L2 and national league if that’s the clubs style of play do they develop that way.

We’ve only a handful that you’d say who would play the tricks, Doyle and Davies are the first to come to mind.

It’s also labelled prehistoric football from the dark ages as the majority want to see beautiful flowing football at all cost because that’s what’s seen on the tv.
Winning football ugly in a physical way or direct football is frowned upon now in the modern era.

For me it’s about getting the 3 points on a Saturday, Pep’s way is beautiful if you have the players and pitches to match. In L1 I’d rather the win however it’s achieved.

I despise moose and think the majority of his opinions on Talk Sport are completely off the mark but that was a good interview have to admit.

Henry Winter, Patrick Barclay, Brian Glanville - when did these fellas ever feel the need to refer to themselves by a ridiculous animal nickname? The moose is an absolute fucking cretin and talksport is tabloid radio for simpletons.
The lad I lift share with has it on when it's his turn to drive, the amount of ill researched, ill informed gibberish they have on is incredible.

Think we will win this comfortably. It's time to turn the corner. Chaplin will hit the ground running and we will be closest yet to picking our best 11.

I'd like to see Kelly back and of course Jones. But we have adequate replacements. It's just about getting the balance right.

Chaplin was showing some great movement when he came on the other day, once we start figuring out where he is going to be and the runs he makes he will be the one getting into the positions.

I am looking forward to the game.

I'm hoping for an early goal, or two. Will be nice to see us play against a team chasing the game, fingers crossed.

I don't get this 'hasn't got the legs'. He's probably the fittest at the club and doesn't need to charge around like a knob-head

I played with a bloke of the same age when I was in my early twenties, and he used to slather deep heat on his fingers, then wipe it in the defenders' eyes at corners. Was truly a footballing education.

Let’s hope we don’t do a Bradford tomorrow or Nick would have to close the forum down for a bit for a cooling period. 2-0 up in the 84th minute away from home, conceded in the 84th (pen), 87th (pen) and 90th

Hopefully get at least a draw tomorrow, ahead of a difficult game against Barnsley next weekend. We don't want to stay in the bottom four for too long.

He's utterly one paced now. Watch him when we get caught on the break, he just jogs back. Now he might be able to jog like that for a week without stopping but there are times in games he needs a gear that he just doesn't have anymore. It might be ok if he's paired with an athlete who will do all of the rest of the midfield running for him, like Ogogo or Kelly but together with a marauding midfielder like Bayliss it is just exposing both of their flaws.
The question for me is who brings most to the team? Is it Doyle's leadership or Bayliss' talent on the ball. Based on the answer to that question it then needs to be either Ogogo and Doyle or Ogogo and Bayliss.

Team will be interesting, does Robins go with a conservative one up front and a middle five or a more offensive centre forward and partner, I’m certain Chaplin will start so if a centre forward starts who will it be ?
I’m still not convinced what our best midfield is or what our best formation is in that area.
IF Kelly is fit I’d bring him in with Ogogo, leave Doyle out and play Bayliss more central, so where would Andreu play, does he play ?
The permutations plentiful let’s hope MR gets it right

They've done well in their last two games, will be another good test...
