Always thought Baka was the panic buy?
Mark Robins said:I keep saying to the head of recruitment that we need to do something, that we need to move. And clearly we’re waiting for something that may come off, and that will be worth the wait. But if not we have got to move, and it’s got to be quick. It’s got to be soon because we have got to integrate people into our team
I'm still having nightmares about the Chaplin miss, lets hope he isn't. 2000 Pompey fans expected tonight, surely he would like to remind them of what they are missing though ?!He missed a sitter on his debut. He deserved to be dropped. Just like Chaplin deserves to be dropped tonight . All that’s missing is a booing crowd everytime they get a mention so they really feel settled
It’s a shame for this lad - came here as a striker, manager admits he’s not a wide player, but proceeds to play him out wide!
In a strange kind of way, it might be refreshing to have no Chaplin. It takes the pressure off him if he doesn't perform, the away fans likely to give him stick and gives MR the opportunity to try another partnership.
“He had an opportunity and he didn’t grab it,” said the City boss, who opted to start play-maker Tony Andreu behind Jonson Clarke-Harris rather than go with a like-for-like change and partner Hiwula with the big centre-forward.
“You are looking for him to go and play up front with Jonson, not to go on and replace Tony Andreu in midfield,” he said. “He went on to go and play up front with Jonson Clarke-Harris, otherwise I might as well have left Tony on.
“He’s not that player.
“He went on because he’s clever and bright.
“He’s going through and then he fails to take the ball with him. That’s the stuttery part of the performance where the ball ended up round his waist as he is trying to take it with him.
“You can sense it in me, I am frustrated with him but it’s not too far away.”
Asked if the former Manchester City trainee, who has scored goals for Walsall, Bradford and Fleetwood at this level, is lacking confidence, Robins said: “I would imagine he possibly is but I don’t see why because he’s hasn’t played, if you know what I mean.
“You lose confidence when you are playing and struggling.
“He’s possibly just been out of the team for a while and thinking, ‘how do I get in the side?’
The answer is that you get in the side by making an impact when you go on.
“And then you keep doing it and showing me in training because you are working your socks off rather than being a player I can say hello to and then forget for the rest of the time.
“You have got to make an impact because we have got a lot of players there.”
We Should have spent the Bakayoko and Hiwula money on Stockley
I'm alarmed by that. Hiwula had to drop deep because there was fuck all service for the strikers. If Robins thinks the ball will travel 30 yards between the midfielders and the strikers by magic then he's deluded. The whole midfield needed to be further up the pitch. At least I’m reassured by robins comments today that he sent him on the play upfront and he was frustrated he kept dropping deep too

No I agree with robins if he sent hiwula on to play up front and he didn’t he’s to blame he didn’t need to come deep as we were hitting long balls to JCH he was flicking it on and hiwula was 15 yards behind him not running off him
He's not used him as a scapegoat has he?Who could Robins use as a scapegoat then?
I agree with your point about Robins. When the team was announced on Tuesday and knowing Andreu was in the starting lineup,it was game over before we had even kicked a ball,as mentioned it was the perfect opportunity to start Hiwula along side JCH as a perfect replacement for Chaplin, but no,Robins decided to go negative and play Andreu instead,i was absolutely fuming he only gave Hiwula 20 mins, what a joke, and Robins comments afterwards was even more of a joke.I think the guy actually thought we were in the game,
Unbelievable Portsmouth hardly had to break into a sweat to ease to victory against us,you would of thought they were the home side.easiet game of the season for pompey

He was dropping deep because there wasn't really a midfield (even more so without Andreu). From throw ins especially he was running back to show for them which is why he ended up whipping crosses in.
When Jones and Thomas switched (or whatever they did) they both just vanished completely as well.
Robins comments really don't add up, it's as if he was watching a different game to everybody else and Hiwula cost us the game so is the fall guy. The same as Blackpool how it was Bakayoko's fault.
All it does is get people saying how shit Hiwula is, it's a very strange man management style.
After Blackpool? He went for the jugular about him to deflect the inept performance. He didn't say it was Bakayoko's fault. Get your facts straight before constantly moaning about Robins moaning about him! Get a grip you tool
I moan that Robins seems to have his public boo boys to throw under the bus which doesn't seem right whilst he changes the whole system to suit a player which hasn't worked all season but he persists with it.

It wasn't the same tactics as Sunderland?I don't think anyone gives as much hate to Robins as you.... Jeez, He's not the perfect manager, if he was then he wouldn't be with us. The players played fine with the same tactics against Sunderland? Arguably just as good a team, The players have to step up. He was saying how he didn't go on and do as he was told so didn't stake a claim.
He can't win with you as no matter what he says you moan.
Have I missed him slating other players as bad? Chaplin for missing simple chances? No he said ti was a crap performance, and then was asked about Baka, and so he answered truthfully? There is a difference between going 'we lost because of so and so' and saying ' we lost because we are shit' and then saying that a player was shit when asked.
Yep, I commented how dare he make forward runs being slightly sarcastic. He then had to drop deep to do anything and ended up being the one putting crosses in.The first play after Hiwula came on, he made a good run between the CBs but he was ignored and didn't receive the ball.
No wonder he subsequently dropped back to try to get into the action.
