Strange though isn’t it? The notion Russia influence has massively grown through cyber activity and this is a new phenomenon is nonsense.

It’s biggest influence in the post Cold War era was without question in the late 70’s and early 80’s

Then there was direct infiltration into the unions and the Labour Party and there was a clear strategy to try and bring down the democratic system

The leader of the opposition was without much doubt paid by the KGB. The miners union was funded by Russia and the miners were used by its Marxist leaders try and destroy the government of the day. Militant tendency was riddled with kremlin sponsored Trotskyites. Oddly though the same people who express indignation at the Russian apparent (and far less significant) interference now didn’t seem very bothered then.

As for America let’s also remember that the so called liberals like Clinton were suck ups to the IRA and sponsored bombs and bullets to murder British citizens. Again little indignation there either.

Very interesting.

Now back to millions of false posts trying to stir up pro Brexit anger and anti Muslim hatred. That is not in a history book. That happened and is still happening and has been more successful than any Cold War measure. Even better for Russia, they can wage a propaganda war from St Petersburg with little physical risk.

It works so well that the targets, although repeating what is in the propaganda, claim that they weren’t affected by it. Not everybody voted leave because of Russian influence. Even the Russians know that. The target was to hit the undecided and swing it enough by convincing a relatively small percentage of voters.

Bingo. It worked and Grendel is deflecting to a histocal narrative to avoid further discussion on electoral manipulation.

And, seeing as Banks avoided mentioning all but one of his Russian meetings before an investigative journalist pulled the information out, it seems there is something going on or something went on. I would like to know what.

But the use of similar funding of a tax payer propaganda should? What’s your view on the £9 million leaflet?

The UK government issuing guidance as requested by the HOL and outside of the regulated campaign, is not similar to a foreign power using propaganda financed by funds channeled illegally by a British subject ( if this is proved to be the case) to further it’s strategic aims.

The content from either side is not the question, nor even if they were or were not successful.

You seem to have very anti UK interests.

I am supposed to want him to hang without knowing what he has or supposed to have done. I don't have a clue what is going on here. So what is wrong with asking?

You know what he’s accused of doing and you know that there’s enough information for the NCA to look into it. If the NCA considers there to be a case they will seek a prosecution and he will have his day in court. We all know that you don’t know what’s going on but thanks for the confirmation.

No I don't know what he has supposed to have done. And considering I was asking on here what he was supposed to have done and never got a reply I take it not many if any at all knows what he is supposed to have done.

Is he guilty of voting UKIP? It was those who voted UKIP that led us towards the Brexit referendum. Good old Cameron offered the referendum if they would vote for him once again. The twats.

You have been answered on here and can easily google Daily Mail. As you have done often enough in the past.

The other amusing thing about “Russian influence” is that all Russia can do and has done for years is to claim influence

It’s a tin pot country with a GDP dwarfed by such mighty powers as India.

Amusing really that the usual clueless suspects on this thread were all over the Salisbury poisoning thread claiming some bizarre conspiracy. Anyone with half a brain knew it was another desperate attempt by the Russian hierarchy to claim to be a big world power with great influence. It will love the attention that the great cyberspace theory brings it but in reality it’s a tiny country trying to puff itself up.

Since the early 70’s Brezhnev knew the game was up and since then the meddling and the infiltration has been the stuff of Dads Army.

Top trolling. OK, you pretend you have no idea what the allegations are. It’s only all over the news but you keep pretending that you don’t know if it somehow helps you out.

They made Dads Army look professional. They kept all their rubbish in a bag so they didn't leave any evidence behind then left it in a taxi. They let CCTC have full shots of them as they went to the house.

Then you have how secretive the Russian secret service is

String of own goals by Russian spies exposes a strange sloppiness

I was at work all night last night. Look at the times of my posts. I am up now as it is one of my kids birthdays. No time to check last night and no time now. So what is he supposed to have done?

Which is why they keep getting exposed and hopefully Banks will be exposed by their carelessness and his greed.

Yes if guilty should be easy to prove. It isn't a secret service anymore.

Guilty of what though? Think I have asked enough now. Although I am used to having questions dodged on this thread frequently.

Using funds from a foreign country/ person.

Using funds from an offshore account.

Not cooperating with a commons select committee.

1 and 2 yet be proved of course. 3 not a crime, but enough to be referred to the NCA for further investigation.

How much clearer do you need?

Yes, Mister neutral, you blocked me to be able to claim you know nothing of any negative aspects of your bs. Problem is that I am not the only one who can see what is happening. You can’t bullshit everyone.

It would be easier for you to have a „debate“ if you were able to read what the „opponent“ has to say. That is if you are interested in a debate as opposed to hoping for approval of everything you say.

Yes oh Intelligent one. Has been in the news for months. Whereas this one I have missed. So when was it on the news?

The HoC select committee was weeks ago. The video of the Banks walk out under pressure is on YouTube. Still seeing as you think Farage has gone away, I am not surprised that you missed the claims about Banks.

I thought Mart said largest private donation ever.

The funny thing about Mad Mart is his obsession with banks has only to do with his Brexit stance. If he was a remainder Mart wouldn’t give a hoot.

This is proven by his very positive support of the vile greedy capitalist George Soros - a speculator who happily brings economies to their knees for his own benefit

Then the same could be said of Astute's obsessions as well.

I don’t have an obsession with Banks. I think he is one of the „enemies of the people“ and want to see him exposed for that.

I am not particularly interested in George Soros, but I am interested in the demonising of him. Why do the right constantly do that? He is Jewish and a financier in addition to supporting democracy. The bogey man of fascism. I suppose that is grounds enough to bring people like Grendel on to the same side as some of the most abhorrent people on the planet... all united in hate against the bogey man. Anyone bringing George Soros into a debate as a negative is losing the argument.

Any examples of my proven positive support of George Soros? Apart from me not hating him.

it's not about how much, it's about the companies it was donated through and the origin of the money.
He claims it's all above board so we'll see.

Well he flew back to UK today and seems very confident.

PS I wonder if all the publicity about this might prejudice the investigation.

Hardly. Much of the information is publicly accessible or has been mentioned on tape at the select committee. Surprisingly enough, Wigmore of Belize didn’t offer this proof, if it is proof of anything, at the select committee.
