Yet some think it is a good idea.
Corbyn has said he is against a customs union. What a surprise. Says it will keep us tied to the EU without a say. Some tried to rip me to bits in here for saying something similar. And that was for more than just the customs union.
UK closer to delivering Brexit, says May
The DUP had not seen the details when you posted Tony. They cannot back or oppose anything other than speculation & heresay at the moment. And since there are (to my knowledge) no DUP representatives in the cabinet...they will not know the details until tomorrow.Whatever the details of the deal is apparently the DUP don’t back it. Were the rumours about a permanent customs union just that? Still plenty of twists and turns on this yet by the looks of it. Supposedly once the 2 o’clock cabinet meeting is over the EU are going to release two documents, one on the agreement and one on our future relationship so we should know the details by the end of the day.
The £1b was not paid to the DUP...it was added to the spending budget for NIof course they are, we'll be fucked if we leave without a deal and we'll have bunged the DUP 1 billion for the privilege of letting them scupper any potential deal.

He's been against the customs union from the word go.He is just an opportunist.
He's been all for leaving the EU until the Tories got the job of taking us out. He's been against the customs union from the word go.
I'm not saying that it isn't a viable option. As you may have noticed I have mentioned it countless times. And I got shouted down for coming out with such rubbish. The EU doesn't need us and all that crap. I have said all along that I could see there being some sort of trade deal agreement. But I expected it to be a last minute thing. The EU wanted to try their best to keep us in. That doesn't look far off either.
A lot of what I say isn't of my beliefs. Just like many being unhappy with still being in a customs union. I'm not unhappy. But many will be. They will include politicians and the man on the street. Some are already complaining. There are people that complain about everything but don't have a better idea on going forward. There are people that think they know everything but are clueless. I won't be celebrating any sort of deal until it is finalised and signed off permanently.

The Pound is rising, Employment is at record levels, wages are rising, our economy is performing better than Germany, immigration to the UK is falling in numbers and our population will consequently stop growing at an alarming and environmentally destructive rate, pollution will come under control with better vehicles and less fossil fuel based energy, pressures will ease eventually on the infrastructure and less houses/hospitals/schools will have to be built. Water resources will be under less threat and less wildlife shall be destroyed to feed the all consuming needs of more people.
I do hope we are not going to let 10 MP's in Ireland scupper everything !!

Still can't believe so many believed he was pro remain, especially the young.
I remember the shouting down. Because some see me as pro Brexit and anti EU. Whatever I say is wrong to some. Then a couple of days later they can say the same :wideyed:I can't remember anyone shouting you down for it, as far as I can remember there was agreement with a majority on here that it could be a compromise, only a minority were against it. I'd see it as the ideal compromise
And you are just a gobby coward hiding behind another username. You are breathtakingly stupid. I kind of clocked that back in the gmk days but for fucks sake, if anything you've actually got stupider.
That is the problem with younger voters and politicians. They can't remember being lied to like the rest of us can. Corbyn offered them what they wanted. What could go wrong.......Still can't believe so many believed he was pro remain, especially the young.

Here is Corbyn saying he wants to stay in the customs union....He has never shown any inclination to remain at any point. To say otherwise is wrong.
I think his sidekick McDonnell has changed his opinion though and is now more pro EU.
How did the last Labour government do? As in New Labour......or was it Liebour led by Bliar.if he was ever elected he'd only need to implement around 20 percent of his manifesto to have a much higher strike rate than the last 2 tory governments.

Do i need to put links on him wanting out of the EU?
Just watching the news and it’s comical. Can’t see this deal happening. Any customs union is apparently temporary so labour won’t back, Northern Ireland is apparently going to have a different arrangement to the rest of the U.K. so the DUP won’t back it, SNP has already said that they won’t back anything that involves leaving the single market and customs union and on top of that they’ve made the very good point that they have sting trading links with Northern Ireland so they’re going to have to have one trading arrangement with one part of the U.K. and a different trading arrangement with the rest of the U.K. which is mental, Scottish Tories are talking about a revolt on fishing and the Welsh simply seem to have been forgotten about all together.
Cabinet meeting still hasn’t finished either. 4+ hours now.

I read something from Faisal Islam on Twitter, apparently the Attourney General has said there is no unilateral option to leave the customs union, so it's as good as permanent.
Corbyn wants out, always had. If he's said different in an interview he's lying he's not the first politician is he?
And I said a long time ago in this thread, Europe will be the issue that finishes Corbyn, he won't be alone.
Looks like it is gonna be an all nighter, send for pizza.Cabinet meeting still hasn’t finished either. 4+ hours now.

The young have a deluded view of the EU as some sort of protection against big greedy corporations (not that our own government are either) when they're really its an enabler of them.
Sticks and stones !!Ooh you're hard. While you're creaming your pants about this deal, tell me what's been achieved. New and easy trade deals? No job losses? Sovereignty? Loads of money saved? You're a useful idiot for the ruling classes.
