Someone is going to get toppled here surely. I can't see how they can all survive and people obviously are not going to be paying monthly subscriptions to several different players each month.

+Others to come too and then you also have the likes of BFI, MGM, Curzon, Universal Studios etc.

This obviously all on top of the main players for your staple stuff, Sky, Virgin and BT.

Nice to have some competition in some ways, but it is undoubtedly going to be incredibly frustrating when it comes to having programmes you are dying to watch spread across numerous platforms.

For me it would be a nightmare to have something like Westworld on Facebook and then Handmaid's Tale on Apple, Sneaky Pete on Amazon and Better Call Saul on Netflix.

Seems like we might have a lot more great TV, but some of it we may well are miss out on.

Surely some will fall by the wayside along the way and others will merge.

Just need to add, obviously they are not all on at the same time, which makes a massive difference.

I love Westworld and Handmaid's Tale, but they are both in-between seasons too.

It's all doable, because like I say, they're not all on at the same time.

Yeah, think you are right. All these new players see an opportunity and huge market, but they simply cannot all survive.

Never understand it either, by the time I get home, have some food, go to the gym, shower, I end up with about half hour to an hour to myself, where I would rather read then watch TV.

You have to remember that some people are retired and some only work part-time. In fact I bet the figures on the number of part-time workers in this country is huge.

I have awful insomnia so end up watching stuff on them overnight to send me off. Generally the same documentary series over and over again though. I have to say the Netflix originals have been poor for a while (I like love, the good place is a CBS or NBC show) and the only decent thing out of amazon is preacher.

Yep agree, I admit to being one the people who always brought Apple, only phones mind you, but am just waiting for contract to finish before I buy my first non iphone, going for a Oneplus which looks 100x better than the iphone for half the price.

Personally don't see point in streaming music, can just as easily download any songs you want for about 10p (on android). The problem with apple is they make it all closed source, so you can only use apple designed products with them, and so that's how they can charge extortionate prices. Also little things such as with he new iPhone you don't get the earphones with it now, unless you pay an extra £15 on top of a £1200 phone...
