If the pool is going where the indoor pitch is the pitch needs moving. A planning application would be a good starting point for that. The seven year thing can be removed just as it was added. Problem is that that would mean our owners would have to rebuild some bridges, form an agreement / partnership and stump up some cash. None of which they seem that interested in doing for whatever reason. Not because it's in the best interests of the club that's for certain.

Thing is, as if by magic they were going to start splashing the cash. I'd much rather it was away from there.

Wouldn't you? That way we can start getting away from the reliance on others and getting in positions like it.

The Higgs Charity have pretty much washed their hands of all things CCFC. The only input they have is the charge they have in their favour over the property, which doesn't affect CCFC being there only CCFC owning or long leasing (neither of which are on offer as far as we know). So no AEHC want nothing to do with CCFC owned by SISU. Except for the likelihood of potential legal action they are to all intents and purposes not involved

Not if it was in the best interests of the club and the most sensible and economic way forward. Which if it wasn't Wasps wouldn't be entertaining it in the first place.

If we do move on we'll still be reliant on others. Where's the money going to come from? Sponsors? We can't even get all the first team sponsored in the match day program let alone attract the big bucks a purpose built academy requires. That leaves borrowing, who's going to lend in this day and age to us? ARVO probably, so we'll be reliant on them and have even more debt to service.

The arrangement we had before we pulled out of the academy when we pulled out of the Ricoh was the best deal this club or probably any club was ever going to get for their academy. It was a great arrangement for the club and fucked up by the owners dicking around pretending to be the illegal state aid police trying to achieve god only knows what as an end game. The only thing that they didn't do was send Higgs a fax of a spunking cock.

How many other clubs have had Cat 2 academy facilities built for them by a local charity? How many of those clubs have then gone on to treat those facilities and provider with such contempt? Do you really question why no one wants to deal with us?

No one's going to gift us an academy. We're still going to be reliant on others. Others who probably don't have a vested interest in the city of Coventry. Unless there's a city in the Cayman islands named after Coventry.

Nick - just for the record the Trust met and/or spoke to Chris Anderson (CCFC), Nick Eastwood and David Armstrong (Wasps), Paul Breed (CSF) . We have also spoken to Joe Elliott for some historic background to Higgs etc and FL for clarification over Cat 2 etc. None of these were minuted as they were not negotiations just fact finding missions. We have never put out any PR statements about the meetings - the only confusion that you seem so hung up about was a tweet from CJ during the Trust AGM that has been misinterpreted. The situation is and remains in my view, with all the available information I have garnered that there is no reason why CCFC couldn't retain a Cat 2 academy but it will not all be at the Higgs site as there will be a loss of some pitches and the building of the swimming pool will mean some lost office/classroom space. However these lost facilities can be housed elsewhere - an academy does not have to be all on one site. As I have said time and time again the only way the club will retain its academy is for all the parties to work together, bring in new partners such as Warwick Uni etc and then present a joint proposal to the FL about what they will do. All this bollocks about PR etc, not going to meetings, wanting everything in writing is just that bollocks. If the club really wants an academy then CA has to talk to CSF and Wasps and others to get it done, digging his heels in about wanting something in writing is puzzling and is simply stalling or deflecting and isn't getting the job done. All these entrentched stances from all parties are doing is making co-operation less and less likely and the demise of the Academy more and more certain. To be honest it seems to me that the way this is all going it willonly end one way - a dead academy and another raft of courtcases. Another great result for our club. If the will was there it could be saved - is the will really there?
