Before this turns into the inevitable Wasps v SISU v Council debate, I don’t really care who is blame (as they all are), but they all need to look past their egos, negotiating tactics and whatever other politics are going on in the background and realise the severity of their respective actions.

The football club is bigger than all the parties involved, and means more to the City too; they need to realise that.

Wasps are a mobile rugby franchise, SISU a hedgefund responsible only to their investors and the fate of CCFC will decide very few votes in elections (and anyway SISU will be set up as being to blame). In the grand scheme of things we are a club (in the broadest sense) of about 10k members. Do not overstate our importance. This is a money negotiation pure and simple.
WASPS - in dodgy financial territory, but would like the rent
SISU - playing a game of chicken with the others, but CCFC serves a purpose
CCC - just want the problem to go away - it is not core to their existence. Wants the other two to agree

All of the parties want CCFC to continue at the Ricoh, but all have "walk away" positions. Whether you like it or not.

brilliant idea. show them what a life without cov will be like
It’s not like most fans would be without alcohol, there’s a number of clubs/pubs in the area.

Could actually assist the local economy

I mean the away fans would still go, but being in League One I doubt other than Sunderland they’d bring enough to support a loss of the Coventry fans

The outcome of the judgement is not a deal maker, it's if Sisu cease litigation, appeals etc.....
I hope this is the genesis of meaningful protest but I suspect the usual will still be saying Wasps will blink first.

SISU SELL THE CLUB NOW- You have been offered up to £20 million - take it or would you rather take nothing and to see the club die

Yes, but whoever the owner, wasps can turn us out or charge what they want.

We’re always screwed and hamstrung in this positions
I think Wasps will be pretty pragmatic over this if the legal action is dropped. At the end of the day the Ricoh is a business venture for them as well as being their home ground and kicking us out or screwing us on rent isn't a sensible business move. A long term arrangement at market rates for the rent would be the most sensible, even if that includes some revenue share from concessions etc on our match days to make it more beneficial for CCFC to want to stay there rather than even consider building a new ground.

A lot of people's reactions show they haven't read the myth busting stuff.

The anger is that the EFL haven't removed the golden share but are now threatening to kick the club out of the league. Have a step back about how and why they can't / won't remove the goldenshare.

So we are at the mercy of them even if SISU go tomorrow?

For as long as we are renting a stadium - and 'apparently' not permitted to move out of the city borders - we are at the mercy of the landlord, whoever that may be at the time. Wasps could kick us out at any point regardless of our ownership situation. If a tenant does not have a statuary right to renew their lease at a premises the landlord is legally obliged to write to them prior to the end of their fixed term informing them that the they expect the tenant to leave on the last day of the term. Similarly they could set the rent at whatever rate they saw fit and nothing could be done.

Personally I believe though that if SISU were removed from the situation, Wasps as a sporting entity would see the potential commercial and financial benefit of letting us remain at the Ricoh for the long term.

Outside of the box thought, is it worth organising a boycott of the casino for the last 5 games?

Can’t imagine Grosvenor being happy with losing 23 days of business - maybe they’d put pressure on Wasps

Its an idea but will the loss of CCFC make that much difference?

Yes they get beer sales on match days but its between 1pm and 3pm then 5pm to 7pm and something similar on evening matches in terms of hours. In that time yes they sell beer etc but it isnt a clear profit there are costs involved.

But the main thing is CCFC beer sales is a small add on to the core business of the casino

Disagree that Wasps are in a dodgy financial position unless the owner of the Premiership does an ITV digital on the clubs. Wasps are in a win situation, former fans of the defunct club will be crying in to their beer about Sisu being culpable.
Yes Sisu are playing a game, if it's a game of chicken I am not so sure of the motives but its destructive whatever it is.
CCC just are not interested, not sure its even on the agenda at all.

Maybe cov fans just need to keep calling the wasps ticket lines 02476 786 411 to jam it up and fuck em off! They disrupting us so maybe they need some of it back!

I bloody hate this bullshit, it’s our bloody club ffs, why is it a chess piece for some wankers in suits to play with

It isn't going to jam up when it is just handing them out for free anyway.

Agree, it is not a sensible business or PR move if the existential threat of litigation is removed.
However I can't see Wasps signing anything unless contractual penalties can be applied in the event new litigation is started.

Agree, they will demand some sort of protection from future legal action which would be more than fair in the circumstances.

I thought this, but wasn't sure if it's legally allowed?

Wasps are not being pragmatic, the outright refusal to even discuss a deal plays into SISU's hands imo. Why not at least discuss a potential deal that is subject to withdrawal of the legal action? (which like it or not the SISU is entitled to take against the Council, as are the rest of us).
For SISU, why not call the Wasps bluff and remove OEG from the legal claim?

Possibly not, but if you have extra say 2000 people through the doors between 1-3 and 5-7, it’s not just beer sales. I’ve Been in there pre and post match and the tables are really busy I’d say people who go in there drop around an average of £50 each on beer and gambling, that’s £100k 23 times a year.

It’s a lot of money and a big part of their income

While we have all been behaving well, like good citizens , it is time to turn up the heat

Against SISU - whose fault we are in this mess and yes personally against Fisher et Al
Against Wasps - who have it in their own grace to grant a deal
Against the Council - who assisted in getting us in this mess (Thanks Future Lord Mayor)
Against the EFL - Seems like the premier league can change week by week in terms of where Spurs play

Next home game in 2 weeks time will start to get interesting if nothing moved by then, and if by the end of the season we are told it is all over - I wouldnt put big odds on those last few games getting to the 90 minute mark

They haven't been offered 20 million, lets be straight.
Can only read what was reported

A source close to the Gary Hoffman-led consortium, who does not want to be named but the Telegraph understands has been involved from the beginning, claims a formal offer has been put to Sisu boss Joy Seppala – an improvement of £5m on the previous bid – which, he says, would rise to in excess of £20m subject to various add-ons.

I think SISU know exactly what their next move is! I also think they know what the Courts decision regarding the appeal is going to be! Be wary EFL I think they are going to come after you next !!!!

As a delaying tactic SISU might say to the league they are in dicussions with another part to sell the club but an NDC prevents any further information and push the league /WASPs to the limits in time constraints then at the last minute say that the talks fell through!!

2000 people? we only average what 10 or 11 thousand thats a very high percentage going in. 23 times a year at 4 hours a piece 92 hours for an establishment that opens well over 6500 hours a year. It will be a tidy sum certainly to you and me but in the scheme of things to a Casino and after deducting costs and pay outs not as big as you suggest

The potential EFL AGM is on 25th Apr and the last Ricoh match is 28th April.
I'd expect a lot of trouble if that AGM goes ahead and there is no clarity by the final game.

This was based on so much extra to L1, Championship and Premiership. Unlikely to ever be realised and if it does then it's £100m minimum to finish bottom of the EPL. Only a fool would accept and they knew that. It's about as worthy as me writing to tell them I'll give them £20m if I win the Euromillions.
