Wasps action (5 Viewers)

The billboard on the corner of the Rowley’s Green industrial estate could be a prime location for publishing Ann Lucas’ statement about how the sale mustn’t affect CCFC. Crowdfund to have that up?

Yes, this. Like the Brexit related ones they did down south.

I'm being realistic. How many people on here that are now the most vocal on here were that bothered before? How many of those will get involved now? Also if they do get involved what difference will it make? As a final question what do they get involved in? Sorry to be negative but I feel nothing that we do is going to change anything.

Most need a direction or a person to follow. I don't disagree, it doesn't look good, but the fan base itself has been fractured for years and for a variety of reasons people walked away and lost interest. We'll get out of this either by SISU dropping the legals or Wasps recognising that the club has no ability to stop what's happening above it. With the right approach we could do the latter.

Not over till it's over

This is definitely my favoured approach. It's respectful and legal but can also be a strong statement. Get it in the press locally, and maybe even nationally (if anyone gives enough of a shit).
No reason the Telegraph and CWR wouldn't get behind it and it requires a response from Wasps that isn't their usual 'but SISU' response. And if they try that or give another BS answer the trust should keep on at them.

Said this before as frustrating as it is we have to wait for the up and coming Supreme Court decision. That decision could be significant as to how our owners play things.

But we all know what happens when SISU lose that. The next appeal goes in.

When is that I can’t remember how it fits into the other dates

It was obvious as soon as CJ said "you asked me to".

So predictable. At least it can now be said "we asked the fans for ideas".

The way I see it is that the trust have been criticised for poor communication. CJ is trying hard, and it might be others are blocking his efforts, but we need to work with him to try to change things. He's been on here a long time and has always seemed a reasonable guy. He's clearly trying here, and I appreciate there have been some reasonable suggestions that haven't yet been taken up, just think we need to give him a chance. All I'm going to say on it, not going to get the thread drawn off track having a back & forth over it.

I don't doubt that CJ tries, the thing is the same as what I keep pointing out that it doesn't get any further.

My point was just that if he has no intention of listening to or discussing any of the ideas in the thread it is pointless.

I have discussed things with him and he is a decent lad, it is nothing personal against him directly. I am sure there are others from the Trust who could constructively discuss things.

Some ideas might well be a load of shite, some might have potential (not just this, but things against everybody else or even non protest ideas). An example the other day is the myths articles, a great idea so they were pushed. Straight down the line with facts, no emotion of spin.

What's an 'open letter' going to do? Same as holding up peices of paper at a game. It's all pointless. Same as marches from the Cherry Tree. It's all been done to death. Sisu couldn't give two hoots. The Football League have shafted us time and time again. Ann Lucas and her cronies have sold us up the river and wasps have taken advabtage. We are weeks away from going out of existence and people are talking about open letters. We are way past that. Everybody knows the issues, none of them care about the collateral damage. We need more than an open letter and a few bits of paper being held up at games. I don't have the answers but we need something big and original that will affect all sides

Wasps will talk about a deal if SISU drop the legal action against them. They’ve said this all along.
Why should they show weakness and say “oh alright then you can carry on despite you wanting to sue the ass off us all the time”
Get with the programme dick head.
SISU aren't suing w**ps! They're suing the council. It's not that difficult to understand.

Any ideas anyone? We have to act quickly as there are only 4 home games left if we do anything at those and one is after the EFL decision date. We need to capitalise on the momentum from today.
I think it needs to be loud and heard.
Open letters won't work, a march before the game will be ignored.
The trust needs to put it's full weight behind a 1 match w**ps boycott. Show them what the people of Coventry are capable of IF the fuck with CCFC. They need the people of Coventry onside otherwise their plan will fail.
Failing that, tennis balls on the pitch during the game.
We need something the owners will see and tale notice of.

Its just any excuse to not blame w**ps.
I'm all for a SISU bash, but let's not make shit up to bash them and ignore any wrongdoing by w**ps and CCC

We keep being told “less talk more action”. I agree with this approach so I think we need to be more direct. Stuff like today. A march before maybe too. Everything would have to be lawful and respectful of traditions (e.g. be quiet during kicks). If cost is an issue we need to try to get hold of some of these free tickets. If someone can point me in the right direction on that it’d be useful.

It seems 21 people support my view so let’s take that as the start and someone else has also written some wording

Can we assume this is a given and you’ll do it?

at least if the club goes to the wall you can say I tried something rather than sitting doing fuck all but moaning on the internet.

I've been involved in some of the protests and not others and supportive of some and not others.

I'm not sure what you think coming on here moaning about protests not achieving anything is going to achieve!

I totally agree with your last sentence and who knows, maybe we'll have a collective light bulb moment and come up with something. Necessity is a great motivator.

Why should only one side have a bargain in the negotiation? Are you really a CCFC fan?

Nice...
I just don’t wear sky blue/SISU/anti-Wasps tinted spectacles all the time.

It’s quite simple - if SISU had back in the day just tried to negotiate like normal people rather than being hostile and stopping paying rent to try and bankrupt everyone else, and then taking everyone to court when they didn’t like what was going on then we wouldn’t be in this position, and maybe Wasps would be our tenants instead.
Stop the legals, then they’ll talk - simples. They already gave them a years grace.

SISU DID try to negotiate a better rent agreement. The council were having none of it.

But please, don't let the truth get in the way of a good SISU bash.
Anything to not get mad at w**ps eh?!

The court papers showing sky blue sports and leisure, arvo and otium versus Coventry City council, arena Coventry ltd, WASPS HOLDINGS LTD and the trustees of Higgs charity

It shows that the defendant is the council and that the others are just interested parties.

Israeli/Palestinian conflict - stop killing each other. End of conflict - simples.

No, I am pointing out facts.

Why is it when people jump in on here to defend Wasps they are often a bit misinformed about things? It's a general pattern that seems to keep occurring.

Not misinformed, just being objective.
“Others on here” could do with being that way sometimes...

And what if SISU were suing w**ps? What if they were?
If w**ps were so sure they had done absolutely nothing wrong, and SISU pick up the bill every time they lose, why are they so bothered?
Why are w**so so desperate to have legal dropped? Is it because they know something was done underhand and they could actually lose?

If I was in court tomorrow for murder, I'd be happy knowing that I was nowhere near it and there is zero evidence to convict me, unless I helped shift the body then I'd want to do everything I could to stop proceedings.
