My issue isn’t actually the chlorine. It’s animal welfare. To start of with animal farming is cruel regardless of where in the world it is but the reason that they wash their chicken in chlorine is because in America the chicken can live it’s whole short miserable life swimming in raw untreated sewage and so long as it’s washed in chlorine it’s classed suitable for consumption. They have a single hit approach to the cleanliness of animal welfare whereas the European standard is that it’s a constant process throughout their life. That’s my issue.

I don't think you mentioned animal welfare before nor has anyone else banging on about chlorinated chicken.

Personally it’s always been my major concern. Same with their beef. There’s a reason that they inject it with various things. They never leave the cowshed. They live short unnatural lives having never walked on grass and the lack of exercise means they have to be treated with drugs to recreate what would happen naturally if they grazed in fields.

That is an unsubstantiated scare story. The market will not stand it and exports to Europe will continue to conform to European standards or better.

The US beef farming practices are already creeping in even with EU regulations. I concede that it is possible that standards may improve but given that EU regulation is a minimum standard and there’s already scope to improve standards and although we have already one of the better standards in the EU through our traditional methods in the U.K. I think it’s unlikely that standards will improve further any shakes post brexit. In an effort to compete with US imports though...

We wanted to talk about rights. But only how much we owed the EU for leaving and what would happen with Ireland were the only subjects allowed.

That is the same as when someone says our standards will lower when we leave the EU. They ignore that we already have standards better than most EU countries.

Why can't we keep this to the truth?

We won't even be leaving altogether so will have to keep up with EU standards as a minimum but I suppose point scoring is more important than anything else.

Let’s hope so, being dictated to by the Americans about our standards and what we could do with our own currency would be ridiculous.

Yes skipped 2 and half years to right now. Would you like me to bring up several links where the EU has refused to talk to us on citizens rights?

We are happy to give rights to those countries that replicate a deal. But no country can come to a deal with us as it has to be a deal through the EU. And Spain isn't the first or only country offering it to residents without the EU saying so. And we are offering it to those who have moved here.

Just another reason why leaders of countries in the EU want to take power off those who somehow have ended up running the project.

The deal has been agreed by the 27 countries and it has been agreed that each country can decide for themselves on what to do in the event of no deal.

I know Spain wasn’t the first country, I think that Italy was the first in January to do so.

But not ratified by the EU like it should be as they refuse to do so until this stage of Brexit is complete. So if it was up to them a no deal would mean everyone loses their rights to stay where they have moved to.

But as usual the excuses come out for the EU. You won't have anything said that could be seen against them.

If British farmers can’t compete against cheap imports due to farming practices what do you think will happen?

I actually made the point of saying that our standards are better than most in the EU but no one will be surprised to see you twisting and lying I’m sure.

It’s part of the withdrawal agreement and no it wouldn’t as it is encouraging countries to decide for themselves ffs.

I’m just pointing out that you’re coming out with twisted ‘facts’.

You’re a British citizen and resident, your country is working towards leaving the EU. Relax and embrace your upcoming trade deal with Trump.

No SB. I am pointing out your incorrect facts. You have already changed what you were saying yet still make out it was me that was wrong.

I take it you didn't know about the latest from Tusk until you saw the link I put up.

You tried to make out that it was the fault of the UK and nothing to do with the EU. Yet the EU says they don't want to ratify a deal about citizens as it would mean that they have failed in making a deal with all involved. This most probably means FOM. With FOM there is no need for anything to be ratified as it isn't needed.

But I suppose you will find a way of blaming the UK for the situation. You always do.

So where did I say guaranteeing rights was a top priority. Thought it was a comment from Mart then.

I said we wanted to have talks about sorting out the problem but the EU refused. You have blown one side up and ignored the other. I wonder why this is?
