However that letter was also written by the LOTO. About decisions passed on a cross party basis.

It’s not about personalities as much as some would like it to be. Not Joy. Not Tim. Not Lucas. Not Duggins. Councils aren’t hedge funds. They aren’t run by one person alone.

So I honestly don’t know about the economic impact. Some fag packet figures: an Aldi store has roughly 40 employees and pays reasonably well for essentially unskilled jobs. CCFC has around 79 employees don’t know if that includes players which changes a lot, but pays very high and very low wages, neither of which are likely to be returned much to the local area. Aldi also pay business rates, not sure what CCFC pay there. CCFC probably edge Aldi, certainly if you factor in brand recognition (less so these days), I know for a fact that the club used to be a common interest point with foreign business and political leaders on trade visits.

However, when deciding where to be, there are two factors at play: the size of the prize and the influence you can have. Persuading Google to get up headquarters here would top them all, but is massively unlikely so not a good use of time.

The council leader can have more impact at the Aldi meeting than shouting match number eleventy billions with Joy. Especially as comment made in that meeting can likely only have a negative impact legally (doubly so because it’s Duggins)

That’s what gives me pause. I mean I can accept widespread buffoonery is an option. But so is political hay making so why has no one from the council come out to whistleblow and take a stand. There’s clearly a constituency for it, and ultimately there’s always an opposition for anything in politics. So where is it? Why haven’t we got even one councillor making a stink about it?

People are talking about the council as they are the ones who get excused. They are the ones who have people re writing history with long documents for them who claim to be fans. They are the ones smugly bragging about bullshitting because of public opinion.

Looking at what aldi employees say, it suggests an average Aldi store has nowhere near 40 employees, more like 10...maybe 15 max.

Not sure if you saw the documentary about them as employers, treat their staff like shit, make them do unpaid work, etc albeit they pay well.

I’ve sat here saying “Tell me what you think they can do and I’ll be with you demanding it happens” and you’ve gone “they should agree to meet”, on the day there’s been a meeting, that by all accounts ended like almost every other Sisu/CCC meeting with a shouting match and no progress.

I’ve said I want an investigation once this is all over. I think it’s needed for faith in democracy if nothing else. I’ve called the leader names and said string em up if we can prove anything.

And yet when you pop up in literally every thread whenever someone disses Sisu, we shouldn’t say anything?

Are you a plant? If not then neither is anyone else who you’ve been chatting to for fucking years you mental bastard.

Yes they can but they need to state their reasons giving the applicant time to appeal or to change their application. Either way the applicant will receive the refusal in writing. The applicant can appeal. There's paperwork galore.

CCC can rent land out on long leases. Do you want that to happen? I could see an argument for a lease that’s technically owned by the fans maybe to get around the Sisu issue. Wasn’t Stamford Bridge owned like that? But who pays for the bricks and mortar? Sisu out of the kindness of their hearts?

They could offer advice on planning policy, but it’s all publicly available and as far as we know Sisu haven’t asked.

The main thing will be getting the roads around the area sorted, but until they have an idea of location they can’t even begin that.
