prefer politicians to stick to their principles if they have firm beliefs- whatever hue they maybe. hard to respect or trust politicians that won't stick to their guns. if you're genuinely firm leave or remain then stick with it.
if you're running scared because you look like losing at last minute how can you be trusted on the next important issue that comes along. Even more scary some of this group could still be in line to take over from May if she steps down, hardly inspiring that next person negotiating with EU is one that is known to back down at last minute.

I'm sick of hearing their opinion on it tbh. Rees Mogg is a backbench nobody, the media think he and Boris are twee British eccentrics rather than a pair of entitled wankers.

I'm minded to say let's call the whole thing off and re-consider what it is that we really want.

We're going to either end up with some thing unpopular (May's deal) or rushed so yes, but delay needed.

Shame we didn't think about the detail before hurtling onward, really.

This isn't necessarily right.

Nobody knows what is going on. But most seem to know what is going on. Just like last week when nearly everyone knew it was either May deal or no deal. Not enough consideration is given to what those that have the power to decide wants. This same consideration doesn't make headline news. But as soon as the rags or news outlets say something it becomes the next thing that must happen.

My take on it hasn't changed. The EU has always angled towards us being able to remain. If we don't remain they want us to have close ties. This includes FOM continuing and our payments not changing. This will keep us included in the free movement of goods. Delays will only happen if we come out with something totally different than what is happening now. Hardly anyone wants what is happening now.

Most are looking for a solution that keeps us in the EU before the negotiations finally start. To me this is why there is never a majority for anything. And I can't see a majority happening for anything. We have another clock to run down. At least this one isn't another couple of years.

Watched the Hungary vs Croatia at a friend's house on Sunday night. He happens to be a senior Govt advisor who's usually in Brussels for these summits.
They "love" Farage just because he upsets so many other Euro MPs. Bit of context Hungarian Govt party just been suspended from EPP for running a huge PR campaign against Junker and immigration and a general clampdown on many of the democratic processes in Hungary. There is little free press or TV in Hungary anymore. Courts packed with political appointees etc. Wide spread corruption in allocation of EU funds.
Hungarian Govt very keen for UK to remain as they see us as an important block to France and Germany.

Or even MEP’s and EU bureaucrats wages and expenses into perspective. This is the cost of doing what was a shared cost with 27 other nations on your own. When you consider that this is just the cost of setting up for one trading partner post brexit all of a sudden that £360M isn’t looking too bad a value for money.
