So what you saying ?.....

You have to really be a believer to not notice how Brexit is crumbling. Brexit was built on lies and pushed by some slimy individuals. They conned and tricked a lot of people by blaming the EU for what is basically an unfair division of wealth and power in the UK. The problems of the 5th biggest economy in the world have been exposed. Next to the wealth of cosmopolitan London are the poorer areas of little England. London is fantastic. Makes you proud to be British. Doesn’t help the poorer and the less qualified. The FPTP system has denied many people representation. Winner takes all. I know what they are on about, but Brexit is led by public schoolboys and sponsored by dodgy businessmen. The Farage March is Brexit. Bedraggled working class people walking in wind and rain, conned by a wealthy public schoolboy into thinking they are walking against the Betrayal of Britain, whilst he makes a fortune from winding people up. Best picture of that was him grinning all over in a gold plated lift with Trump. And they still don’t see it....

Don't see where DUP are going with this. Want out. Wanted the May deal but with backstop changes - an option not even on the table. Common Market 2 seems only possible version bar No Deal.

Their main focus is the union with the UK, which is more important to them than a hard Brexit as they probably recognise that it would threaten their union in the long term

Was that before or after telling me that I wouldn't be able to move my family to France? ;)

I meant in case a no deal occurs, which is not beyond the realms of possibility when we have people in charge going mad over a stick being on display in parliament and trying to raise points of order to an empty chair.

Personally, I hope you’re able to regardless, I’ve got used to endless days of sun myself over here and am already burnt.

Tried this the other day by Lake Garda, never seen it before

As you know I can't see no deal happening. Have seen the properties I want. Has their own stretch of a river. A house to live in and two gites. An income for the wife. 4 more years work for me before I can retire.

Have all the plans. Just need the idiots to sort themselves out.

Why is anyone surprised?

It has been the same since day one. They act like spoilt children. It is pathetic the way they are in parliament yet they are supposed to be running our country. Most want what is best for themselves yet they are supposed to do what is best for us.

No surprise not a single motion passed.
The large numbers of abstentions on most motions is a poor signal.
May has trapped Tory party. If a strong Brexiteer elected new leader then no chance of enough cross party support to get anything through.
Another General election risky for all sides. Fighting any election on a single issue is a gamble for all. Both major parties would still have to commit to leave - maybe advantage Labour as they have greater party unity on a leave proposal but risk losing support in strong leave constituencies if they commit to 2nd referendum.
As ever opinion polls mean nothing atm as referenced by May blowing a 21 point lead between calling an election and actual voting day.
Still would take us past EU deadlines and who knows how long they are prepared to wait especially with no guarantees of what sort of new UK govt they could be waiting for.

And the latest is that Labour isn't a remain party. The problem is that Labour has many remain MP's. So there could now be another round of resignations.

The worst thing about this farce is most of the idiots in Parliament will get reelected.

I’m coming round to the idea what MPs should only be eligible to ‘serve’ for a set number of years, ideally 12 maximum.

Yes. Let’s get more wet behind the ears MPs desperate for votes. It’s no coincidence that the sanest voice in all of this is also the father of the house.

Whenever people go “they’re all idiots” that old saying comes to mind: you meet one dickhead, you met a dickhead. Everyone you meet is a dickhead, maybe you’re the dickhead.

The majority are out of touch and vastly overpaid for the work that they actually do and more and more they’re forgetting their principles in order to cling into power.

this will be an interesting part if there's another election. if MPs have "gone against the wishes" of the associations, CLPs etc. will they be put forward as candidates. the 11 Independents are probably toast what type of candidates will replace them.

still uncomfortable about Labour using the whip on the referendum. implies his members have to be forced. Does seem to smack a little of grandstanding.
All the talk from MPs about following their consciences with their respective Brexit voting patterns regardless of party lines and they can't be trusted with the referendum vote.

What's the alternative? Our system means most people in England won't move from either Conservative or Labour as anything else is viewed as a wasted vote. The sort of shift in votes you'd need for the Lib Dems, Greens or anyone else to get a significant foothold just won't happen.

thinking more along the lines of where strong Brexit areas MPs have voted remain and vice-versa. Would sitting MPs be put back on the ballot? Convention is they would but always possible could be replaced by candidates that reflect the wishes of the constituency on this one issue.
Lib Dems would be even more sidelined.
Would Scotland return a bigger SNP block because of its firm Remain stance at the expense of the 2 main parties?

Clarke is nothing but a dribbling europhile whose benefited hugely from paid “consultancy” roles with large PLC’s who he has always looked after.

By your own logic the distinctly anti European Beast of Bolsover is equally sane I assume?
