I don’t think he said they were worse.
„Rees-Mogg posted a video of the leader of the German political party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), although he said afterwards he “was not endorsing” them. The AfD march alongside neo-Nazis, want refugee boats sunk and say Islam is worse than the plague. In 2013, Rees-Mogg went to dinner with the Traditional Britain Group, although he said he had “clearly made a mistake” by doing so, even though he admits he had been tipped off about their views. That group’s Facebook page has called for Doreen Lawrence and “millions of others” to be “requested to return to their natural homelands”.“
He was replying to Rees Mogg’s endorsement of a party that attracts Nazis and marches with them. Farage gave a speech to them and RM retweeted their propaganda. Their, AfD, membership includes the hard right ( Höcke who has already been in trouble about his Nazi style rhetoric is one of their leading members, and has a large following amongst them ). Farage has interviewed Von Storch one of it’s leaders on YouTube. Grand Daughter of a Hitler cabinet member. Weidel, AfD MP in the Bundestag, has received donations from the son of Hitler’s favorite banker.
If you don’t want to see the connection/ sympathies/ similarities between leading Brexiteers and AfD etc., that’s up to you.
