You don't get it do you.

The same people said what would happen if we voted leave. The opposite happened on most of their predictions. And they were wrong several times before. So why would the voting public believe them this time?

We were talking about May, not the general public.

Her so-called 'deal' would have left Britain enslaved by the EU for all eternity which is exactly what you and her kind want.

Enslaved? We are a member now not a third country. This is leave. You might not like it, but it as a form of Brexit, where we become a third country. Great isn’t it. Remain is the better deal.

Very funny isn’t it... There were loads of anti May placards at the march. She is not admired na remainers.

But no doubt the blood stained Blair creature is

You could say that about any date. It's just an excuse by those who don't want to leave to not do it.

No it isn’t. Leaving the biggest trading block in the world for no clear reason, just mumbo jumbo spouted by some dubious politicians and tabloid newspapers owned by non resident billionaires, is a batshit crazy idea. Even Farage now claims it isn’t about economics and any downturn is the price we pay for the liberty which we already have.

We will be taking back control of our currency though.

Yes. Very true. That is not the sole consideration comparing the two. Hitler also liked cars and cream cakes.. apparently. Maybe you can find more similarities?

They were liars, megalomaniacs and have blood on their hands - and both should have been tried for war crimes. Still I guess if old Adolf had been a remainer he’d have been a regular good guy

Just watched a Brexit Party rally in Nottingham from 20. April ( somewhat aptly Hitler’s birthday). Exact same rhetoric and jingoistic speeches from Farage. That, with his Breaking Point poster, makes a more exact match to Hitler.

Good traditional family Easter Holiday viewing that (well...in Mart's family maybe).

Slightly worried he knows when Hitler's birthday is...he must be in a very small minority of those that care when his birthday is.

His rhetoric is, and yes, some people are stupid enough to vote for him.

In reality you sound like the crazy lunatic David Lammy. I’m rapidly concluding you and he are the same deranged bigot

No. Nauseating viewing, and not for my family. Nice trip in the country afterwards to get the image of Farage, Richard Tice and Ms Mogg out of my head. They called themselves ordinary folk.

Lammy has to take abuse, partly because of his colour, so I imagine he knows more about the effects of the growing racism than yourself. We shouldn’t be playing the rhetoric down, but pointing out what is going on.

Can you show me any evidence of racist abuse he has received - I cannot see any evidence he’s ever even complained if such

Anyway you have evidence

Link please

While you are frantically backtracking and diverting can you also provide a view for me.

Mart - are brexit supporters as bad as Adolf Hitler in your view?

Many black people have suffered racist abuse, or stupid comments. They claim that, and I believe them. I don’t know how you prove that. But, Lammy is always being attacked, as is Diane Abbot. Yes there are legitimate reasons to criticize them, but being black is one reason people on the right love calling them out. The criticism often comes down to go back where you come from or your percents come from.

No. I have never claimed they are. I say that some of the extreme Brexit pushers use the same or very similar rhetoric to leading Nazis. Some people get sucked in by the rhetoric. You can go on virtually any Brexit or Farage YouTube account and read through the comments section, and you will see how utterly crazy some of the supporters are.

That does not mean all, or even the majority of Brexiteers are Nazis, or extreme right sympathisers. Some are, and they certainly don’t make any attempt to disguise it.

David Lammy said in an interview with Andrew Marr that the ERG are worse than the national socialists under Adolf Hitler

Let’s discuss

I don’t think he said they were worse.

„Rees-Mogg posted a video of the leader of the German political party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), although he said afterwards he “was not endorsing” them. The AfD march alongside neo-Nazis, want refugee boats sunk and say Islam is worse than the plague. In 2013, Rees-Mogg went to dinner with the Traditional Britain Group, although he said he had “clearly made a mistake” by doing so, even though he admits he had been tipped off about their views. That group’s Facebook page has called for Doreen Lawrence and “millions of others” to be “requested to return to their natural homelands”.“

He was replying to Rees Mogg’s endorsement of a party that attracts Nazis and marches with them. Farage gave a speech to them and RM retweeted their propaganda. Their, AfD, membership includes the hard right ( Höcke who has already been in trouble about his Nazi style rhetoric is one of their leading members, and has a large following amongst them ). Farage has interviewed Von Storch one of it’s leaders on YouTube. Grand Daughter of a Hitler cabinet member. Weidel, AfD MP in the Bundestag, has received donations from the son of Hitler’s favorite banker.

If you don’t want to see the connection/ sympathies/ similarities between leading Brexiteers and AfD etc., that’s up to you.

Do you have any actual quotes from him to suggest his rhetoric is similar to Hitler's?

The whole thing has the same rhetoric about breaking free, our great country, broken promises of politicians, regaining our place in the world, referring to what our fathers fought and died for.. the same rhetoric as the Nazis. The victims of betrayal. The failure of the democratic system. The maligning of democratically elected politicians as traitors. The portrayal of other countries as our enemies. We are the ordinary folk fighting for our land, our pride in our country, we will rise to greatness.. and it goes on about belief etc.. then Farage portrays himself as the saviour. His struggle for 20 years. How he was mocked and „They aren’t laughing now“. This is the same rhetoric. He has dealt with the Tory party and as next he will deal with labour.

Nowhere in the speeches was anything constructive to deal with actual problems. Just a promise to continue to be a nuisance in the EU parliament. Pure populism. Not out of place in the 30s.

The jews always used to laugh, They used to think it was a Joke.
They aren't laughing now They know it's deadly serious.“

Substitute the EU parliament in his speech after Brexit.

„When the Nazi Party came to power in 1933, they made the legend an integral part of their official history of the 1920s, portraying the Weimar Republicas the work of the "November criminals" who stabbed the nation in the back to seize power while betraying it. The Nazi propaganda depicted Weimar as "a morass of corruption, degeneracy, national humiliation, ruthless persecution of the honest 'national opposition'—fourteen years of rule by Jews, Marxists, and 'cultural Bolsheviks', who had at last been swept away by the National Socialist „

Substitute our parliament for Weimar Republc ( the democratic system in Germany after WWI ) .

Notice the national humiliation and the portrayal of „honest national ( patriotic) opposition) as being against the humiliation caused by the democratic parliament. Tice, Rees Mogg and Farage portray the national opposition as being „decent ordinary folk“ inferring that people like me, and the majority of MPs, aren’t decent ordinary folk.

Rees Mogg ( sister ) claimed the audience and herself were ordinary. Her argument was that we all live in houses and drive cars. They may be different houses and different cars, but we all ordinary decent folk. We being the Brexit Party audience.
