For what it’s worth Liam O’Brien made one of the best saves I’ve seen live against Blackpool last season... then proceeded to have two shockers to concede twice. When you make that many mistakes, people tend to forget the odd decent action

Yep. Can’t say I’m sorry to see either go.

He was voted man of the match by the player raters 7 times. Joint first with Kelly.
Personally I think we are best shot of him as his confidence seemed to have gone, but he did have some very good games
Agree with that. His confidence did appear to be completely shot by end of season. Looked really rattled to me Vs Pompey away. At that point I thought it's time to move on. I wish him well.

Heard about this last night, apparently Burge was on trial with Shrewsbury last week, but is now heading to Sunderland - who are rumoured to be losing Jon McLaughlin to Millwall.

Can't see Burge being first choice personally.

Agent Burge, thats the scum not going up next season then

Brilliant shot stopper but can't catch a ball

Occasional rush of blood to the head, very good shot stopper, but an erratic kicker - and the Ricoh bobbly pitch won't have helped with that. Good luck to him, but he's gone and unless Marosi is poor, we should be at least as strong in that area next season.

Made some brilliant saves - we should all be eternally grateful for *that* stop at Meadow Lane in the play-off semi-final - but as others have said his confidence took a beating after a series of bad decisions last season. Hope he prospers wherever he ends up but it was right for all sides that he moved on.

. He can’t kick out of his hands which has nothing to do with the state of the pitch. Usually ends up in touch or with the opposing keeper.

I'm not sure the pitch can be blamed for his terrible kicking. It was either a) out of his hands or b) a dead ball (goal kick) where he had a choice of where to place the ball. He was just a poor kicker. No excuses.
A great shot stopper but that's about as far as it went unfortunately.

This notion of being a 'good/great' even "brilliant" shot stopper, recently led me to conduct my own experiment.
My findings were: Wheelie bin - Somewhat immobile but as long as the ball hit it the result would be a rebound - Conclusion: 'Good shot stopper'.
Childs size single wardrobe from Ikea - Somewhat immobile but as long as the ball hit it the result would be a rebound - Conclusion: 'Good shot stopper'.
Ten yr old heavily worn pink dralon sofa upturned on end - Somewhat immobile but as long as the ball hit it the result would be a rebound - Conclusion: 'Good shot stopper'.
Hope this helps.

Must say I don’t get this “great shot stopper” cobblers either. It’s only a quarter of the armoury needed to be a goalkeeper (and yes I used to be one). The others being kicking, decision making and communication.
So 3 out of 4 lacking-draw your own conclusion.

I must admit I don't even get the whole 'great shot stopper' comment. It was his biggest plus, but he wasn't 'great' at it.

This I can concur, and heavily called upon every Sunday morning, Aug - May, was Adge!
We really must get the band back together.

That's the issue though - he has the confidence of an insecure school girl. There are some things in life that cannot be taught and in my experience confidence is one of them. You can improve it but if it's not fully there it never will be.

He pulled off some great performances during his time with us but realistically it was the one thing holding him back from becoming a consistent GK.

I'd add two other attributes and despite that I actually quite liked him, he was severely lacking in these too - ability to catch and commanding the area!

Nah, disagree entirely, it was due to the fact we couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.
Not putting the ball in the net didnt lose us points, Burges flaps, fumbles and poor clearances lost us quite a few points over the course of the season.
