What a come down that was.
It needs to be part of a complex with bars and other entertainment. That bit by the canal would be perfect but instead we’ve been pissing about with ownership and the site never gets developed.

Regardless, I'm sure it runs off a few thousands in matchdays. It's pretty busy after.

As somone said it's a huge space that could be diversified into bars, 3 or 4 different types of restaurants and a casino. But it needs footfall all of which they will miss out on with us not being there. Am sure the operator are not happy with wasps/the situation.

I honestly don't think the council will ever let SISU gain control of the stadium. I think they would prefer it knocked down for housing if Wasps go pop rather than handing it to SISU.

aren't we constantly told that the CCC have strict guidelines when making decisions and that personal feelings don't come in to the decision making process?
We're also told that CCC act in the best interest of the Coventry council tax payer so surely if there ever was a chance of sisu gaining control of the stadium any proposed deal would be assessed in a purely professional manner by the council, (stop sniggering).

The best result for all is for a deal to be arranged with someone to buy the club from sisu at a rate that reflects them owning a stadium and the council selling them the stadium once it has been returned to them after London Wasps can’t fulfil their bonds. I agree it needs to be sorted properly this time, no short term fixes and I’d support a medium term share outside the city if it meant we returned with our destiny in our own hands. Selling the Ricoh to London Wasps was the single worst thing to ever happen to us and until the situation comes to a head it won’t improve.

Best case senerio as far as I can see in that instance is the council offering the club a rental, and we are back to sq 1 with the lack of income from f+b etc.
I just can’t see how sisu will get their hands on the stadium. Even if they win the case, wasps have to hand the stadium back and CCC owe CCFC damages for Northampton / Birmingham etc, would CCC not just give them the money and then cut budgets elsewhere rather than give them a stadium ?

But what use is the stadium to The Council? Why would they want it? If they don't sell it to CCFC (or whoever) it is a huge white elephant. SISU will say - no rental thanks, we want to buy (otherwise...., as in the Northampton scenario)

Just random numbers here but if they owe us 10million in damages we can have it off the independently valued price of the stadium. SISU would then bye it.

If CCC owed CCFC damages, which would be in the tens of millions, why wouldn’t they hand the stadium over if they had possession, rather than deplete council (I.e. taxpayers) cash reserves whilst keeping hold of a white elephant.

When the council have an empty stadium and need someone to occupy it.
More likely outcome ( and none of us have any idea) is that wasps have to stump up the correct value for the stadium and can’t, and ccc have a hefty fine that isn’t offset by an additional payment from a bankrupt rugby franchise. Empty stadium reverts to the council along with the egg all over their faces. And I have made no allowance for civil damages.

Never been (or would ever go) to a wasps game and have no interest in a council that I don’t contribute to or doesn’t support their local sports team. Not sure why I would love either of those ?. Do tell why I love wasps ?
Opportunities lost are the income from ticket sales in northampton And Birmingham aren’t they ? Not sure that loss would go into the tens of millions. At £20 a ticket, 10000 missing fans and 20 home games, that’s only £4m a year ?

Still cant see that they would then sell the stadium to sisu, and if they did, it would have to be at the market price set out in the case ?
