Why would Walsh start at the expense of Jobello or Hiwula? He's a CM.

MR likes to stick with a winning team (which I respect), but last week we didn’t win and were absolutely nowhere near the levels we need to be, so he has a justified reason for changing the team. I’d play:
Marosi
Dabo Hyam McFadzean Mason
Walsh Kelly Shipley
O’Hare Godden Hiwula
Harsh on Westbrooke, as he’s a better footballer than Shipley, but he’s been too anonymous so far. Absolutely not writing Jobello off, but I had such high hopes but he’s looked lost so far. Hiwula hasn’t been on form either, but he’s proven and Jobello isn’t.
Debated not starting McFadzean as I worry about his pace and I’m not sure he’s as good as others think, however we need leaders in the team for such a big game.
I’m absolutely repeating the same thing I said last season, but how we play absolutely depends on the freedom MR gives the players. If he allows us to play quick football with an offensive mindset, I think we’d beat most teams in this league.
I’m looking forward to Saturday and I think we’ll have enough; 2-1, Godden, O’Hare.

Problem is against better opponents like Saturday who I wouldn’t even class as better we were poor I think he will keep that team but I expect Allen & Walsh in that 11 very soon.If he does keep that same team they owe robins a performance Jobello & Hiwula more so it’s time for them to STEP UP !!!

I'd keep Jobello on and Put O'Hare in for Hiwula personally. Jobello didn't look great against Oxford but he has looked okay in previous games when he wasn't scared to cross it in from a bit deeper which was what Godden seems to want. Not sure why he wouldn't do it against Oxford and instead thought he was Usain Bolt.
Hiwula is just dog shit.
Only thing is, I think O Hare is really dangerous when he makes darting runs forward from midfield. Would he lose this if we put him in Hiwulas position

Westbrooke has been directly involved in 5 goals this season with a key role in two others. I can't see anyway he's going to get dropped for a player that will have been with us two days.

Think you are right. Short term he will keep his place. Hope Walsh is match fit, as if so can bring him on as soon as is needed. If O'Hare is fit (following last night;s knocks) MR will either play him, or be looking to replace anybody in the middle or out wide who is off their game. We can't afford passengers over the next couple of tough games.

Hmm well I think Hiwula gets more stick because of what he has delivered previously.....Jobello in my eyes based on Oxford looks pretty ordinary!
Hiwula cocked up but looked far more of a goal threat.

Not sure about McFadden coming back in he has looked prone to errors. Did you see the game last night? He played 90mins and was out paced a couple of times and made some basic errors. On that basis would continue with Rose and Hyam. Long season and am sure he can play his way back in, just not this weekend.

Statistically we have done better with less players on the pitch this season.

I agree re O’Hare’s runs from midfield, but he’s almost the victim of his own flexibility as he can play out wide whereas the other CM’s can’t. I’ve always liked Hiwula and I accept he’s had a poor start - however I’d still put him ahead of Jobello as we at least know Hiwula can perform (and score) at this level.
I like Westbrooke, I think he’s a good footballer with a good passing range, but Walsh is the better player and this is one of our hardest game so far. You could drop Shipley for Walsh, but Shipley seems to be involved in a lot more. Those stats are impressive, but when you look back at our games so far, can you really remember Westbrooke? Again, I like him and think he’s a good player with time to improve, but I think he’ll look a bit lost on Saturday.

As per my previous post; that’s an impressive stat but can you remember him in any of the games so far? You can’t get away with relying on scoring/assisting and then doing not much else when playing in a midfield three.
I like Westbrooke, he has good attributes and will improve but if Walsh is the better player then he needs to play. We lack creativity big time.
I don’t think O’Hare or Walsh have been brought in to warm the bench, I’m sure a fully fit O’Hare will start Saturday with Walsh atleast sub and eventually both will be regulars and then there’s Allen to come in, imo all three are potentially better players. I think our strongest first team will look a bit different on a month or two than it does at the moment.

I think Westbrooke is harshly treated by a majority of our fans. I don't think he's been exceptional but he can pick a pass and has shown so far he has an eye for goal. He also rarely loses the ball, it's not always exciting but it's a good attribute to have. He also has improved our set pieces by about 10x fold. Shipley may be 'involved' more than him, but it has to come with the caveat that not all those involvments are necessarily good.

From what I've seen of Ohare so far, he looks at his most dangerous when picking the ball up in midfield and driving forward or arriving late into the box, I think he could be wasted as one of the front three, he'll be easier for the opposition to mark. I'd stick with 2 of Hiwula/Jobello/Kastaneer flanking Godden and start Ohare over Westbroke or even Shipley.
We tend to have the majority of meaningful possession at St Andrews and our full backs have more license to get forward creating space for the likes of Ohare and Westbroke making late runs without being picked up through the middle.

1) I was talking about Walsh. If you had read my original post I only questioned Walsh. O'Hare was brought in to play as part of the midfield 3 but does add flexibility as he can also play in Jordy/jobellos role. Walsh however is a deep playmaker by trade, so him playing on the wing makes no sense.
2) jobello is a winger. But yes correct hiwula isn't and plays as more of an inside forward but he also adds the width to the team when needs be. Just because I say winger does not mean traditional winger. They are the new breed of wide player.

But he doesn’t say play Walsh there necessarily, you could push Shipley wide left as we’ve done and play Walsh in the middle. But yeah, fair enough.

Why are we people continually suggesting pushing Shipley left? He doesn't have any of the attributes needed to play wide left in a 4-3-3 (you could argue the same in a 4-4-2 to be honest).

O'Hare needs to start in midfield (he's not a forward so pointless putting him in for Hiwula), the team needs to play at a much quicker tempo, the midfield need to offer themselves to receive the ball from the centre backs, Westbrooke and Shipley don't do it enough.
